  • I guess I need to watch the movie too to know what is going on

  • I love hurts.

  • ok i must watch this movie because only this part i was like.. wtf ?! i don't understand anything loll

  • @chhtony1190 ya you def need to start from the beginning :)

  • Me love waltz!

  • It hurts. It makes me remember the end of the story and it hurts. Love hurts.

  • what's the name song?? someone tell me please ^^

  • @necrobips Yumeji's Theme (Composer Shigeru Umebayashi)

  • visual poetry

  • I already saw this movie and remained impresed: two lovers that you never see having sex but making a slow, soft, marvelous introduction to the seduction world. Both leading actors are brilliant, but Maggie Cheung is so beautiful and seductive,. You should even feel her smell. The music of Nat King Cole is perfect.

  • favoloso

  • I saw the title "best part of "in the mood for love" " and knew, before seeing the preview image and before watching the video, exactly which scene you were talking about. The interaction between music and cinematography here is so breathtaking, I had to rewind it several times the first time I watched the movie.

  • Love this movie!!!

  • liao bu de. liao bude...

  • this lady is amazingly exquisite...

  • So much constrain... so much pleasure...

  • Çok güzel :(

  • @cerisedhiver

Such a boring user I think with such a beautiful clip from a beautiful movie.

  • this scene is pure epicness!

  • like this: 'love is the matter of timing..", loving the impossible, sad...

  • wtf video sence?

  • cette chanson est vraiment magnifique

  • @wongchiko only Maggie wiping sweat off her brow

  • love the music, the lightning and the colours used!!

  • 8 people are without love in their lives.

  • I would say the scene of Tony L. whispering his secret into a hole at Angkar Wat is the best scene. Makes me tear up thinking about it... This is a good scene too. Thanks!

  • The real stars of this movie were Maggie Cheung's dresses; Gorgeous high collared mini dresses. Tony L is luscious as usual. So much of the movie consists of them just waiting for each other. Luxurious look and texture too. Better than Days of Living Wild. Pretty amazing achievement.

  • This was a really good movie -- but it did leave me with an unsatisfied feeling at the end ... and normally unhappy endings are fine with me. oh well

    i need to see 2046 next ...

  • "Love is all a matter of timing. It's no good meeting the right person too soon or too late.If I'd live in another time or place...my story might have had a very different ending."

  • I love this movie! It is just incredible. And Tony leung is so great, Maggie too. And the music is so beautiful . I Can't help watching it again and again.

  • 8 people obviously are axolotls.

  • Absofuckinglutely beautiful !

  • Belissimo filme ,um dos melhores que conheço,

  • increible musica

  • for this scene...Tony Leung ate the Won Ton noodle 20+ times

  • @KittyTempleton I do not know about similar, but quite an amazing film music is made by Michael Nyman, and he's nor so well known...

but its not so fascinatingly pensif... This one is quite special, I dare say

  • @Damae85 Thanks and Yes The Piano was amazing. This however really plays and pulls the heart strings ...

  • @KittyTempleton I prefer Gattaca, so if you don't know this movie or It's music, I recommend it.

  • @Damae85 Thanks and Yes The Piano was amazing. This however really plays and pulls the heart strings ..

  • @Damae85 Thanks and Yes The Piano was amazing. This however, really plays and pulls the heart strings ..

  • incredible music :o) can someone recommend other pieces of music like this plz.

  • Wong Kar-wai uses music so brilliantly in his movies. Even though music is so evident, it's used to further the film's plots and themes, and it's amazing how music can vocalise feelings so much better than pages and pages of dialogue ever could. This film doesn't feel like a string of music videos, unlike some more recent examples (Sucker Punch), because the film, what you are seeing, is what remains important while the music just fuels it. I LOVE WONG KAR-WAI. Also, Maggie Cheung is beautiful<3

  • @marveladdict

    Very incisive comment.

  • @freak964 thanks a lot !!!

  • @freak964 thanks a lot !!!

  • love it

  • love it

  • if not the best movie of all time, definitely in the top 5. Also, it´s a shame the melody is detuned in this clip, check the original score to really enjoy the music, believe me, it's worth it

  • Most definitely. 'nuff said.

  • Funny, I thought this was one of the best part of the movie too! Just Stunning...

  • ah........amazing........!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ThaBauce yes, I compare the two directors 'cause I find them similar and complementary: both use the camera making many movements that allow audience to see matter in a personal perspective. I don't think movies must explain everything and do not necessarily make any sense but have to stimulate your imagination and feelings

  • I love this movie and I'm cuban.

  • Para alkorkon 2007: realmente se sienten deshubicados y solos, en mi opinión no hay nada vacío en ellos.

  • Who in the world can be cooler than Tony Leung eating the wonton?

  • @wongchiko answer is Wong tong

  • @wongchiko chow yun fat maybe?

  • @LePetitGrosse that is Tony Leung

  • @georgeneo i know thats tony leung, im saying if chow yun fat eating wonton, he can be as cool as tony leung

  • @wongchiko Um, Maggie Cheung.

  • Wong Kar Wai vs Lynch: in a way, while Wong Kar Wai always just reaches the corner leaving the audience the chance to imagine, Lynch goes beyound that but still he forces the audience to imagine what and why

  • what song is this ???????????????????

  • @Alexfonse oniric sequence of life or oniric life

  • @Alexfonse yumeji's theme

  • Too bad it's in the Incorrect aspect ratio. This film is Scope(2.35), not Stretchy weird 1.68'ish

  • @Tsaier No, it's 1.66:1

  • @chrisjdgrady Yes, you're correct sir. I was wrong. I must have been thinking of 2046. This still is stretched looking though.

  • three people were not in the mood for love

  • One of the greatest filmmakers ever.

  • Thank you for putting this up!!! It really is the part that stick out in your mind. I was trying to explain this movie to a friend last night and I kept trying to describe this scene. :)

  • wow thats really beautiful. im going to see that movie. just saw the last one of the tree films

  • un momento perfetto...

  • un momento perfetto...

  • i never imagine that eatting wonton can be so classy, or isit because wong kar wai cenimatic just too great!?

  • Wow, this part really captures how lonely they are. :( Love this film.

  • Tony Leung is so awesome, He makes eating wontons from a street stall look so classy!

  • I wanna eat dumplings now...

  • why is it in a different key in the movie? or is it only youtube? i cant remember

  • @msa1985 I believe the music is slowed down. I can't remember whether it was like this in the movie either!

  • @petertranart nah its about the right speed. watched this movie a lot and got the soundtrack too,

  • @aussieconservative do you know the name of this track?

  • @harifromnowhere Yumeji's Theme - Umebayshi Shigeru its brilliant. I sometimes get this stuck in my head for hrs.

  • a ver si alguien me puede traducir estas palabras: para mi es la representacion exacta de la pesadez del animo que implica la infidelidad.

  • La beauté sauvera le monde.

  • Only Wong Kar Wai can make getting food, this bloody good.

  • bộ phim của những ngày hè nóng nực , sáng nào cũng cặm cụi phóng xe lên thư viện phim mân mê hàng giá phim cứ lo ko xem cho kịp tới khi hết hè :(

  • @SoupAndSunday After 5 years in Vietnam I realize my Vietnamese is like in the beggining... I couldn't understand any of your sentences...

(I hope your English is better than my Vietnamese).

BTW it's fun to see some one in Vietnam is also watching to this video.

  • Great camera work

  • When watching the movie a 3rd time I noticed Maggie's character wasn't just a lowly female secretary, but an interpreter since she had an English typewriter on her desk.

  • i love the music and her walking with the container scences!! i don't know why!!! :)

  • YES.

  • Yeah! Take that Dumpling! YEAH! jizz in your mouth Tony!

  • mama!

  • As the pizzicato drones on, the suffocating humidity inspissates your faculties, you abruptly stroke down your thigh as the form-fitting 旗袍 uncomfortably clings onto your exhausted being. When you escape from the musky wok haze and ascend those arthritic stairs in each deliberate step, you lament your life caged by a phantom husband and wonder incredulously why a fleeing irrational thought in your head would lead you to believe you were sitting in the dark watching some woman buy congee...

  • she is, perfect.

  • one of the most beautiful screen couples...

  • great movie..a masterpiece ... and the music fantastic!!!

  • THIS IS ONE OF THE MANY TRUTHS OF LIFE

  • makes me want to move to asia fall in love with a married woman and then eat dumplings in slow motion.

  • Comment removed

  • @msa1985 But could you still look mad sexy while eating dumplings in slow motion? I think Tony ftw.

  • @msa1985 as you may know, they were the discarded spouses with deep longings and an impossible act of timing and cultural restraint. their passing on the stairs and his eating alone a melancholy that evokes the sad trap that they are within

  • @msa1985 not a hard goal to achieve

  • @msa1985 this is the best comment to a video ive read, so far. Same applies for me, but with a man. lol.

  • Can a movie be too good? Because I think this one is...

  • Very poetic indeed, but it seems that this version of Yumeji's Theme is somewhat slowed down compared with the one found on YT.

  • wonderful cinemaphotography

  • why the f*ck did they use this scene for this music guys.... they really screwed everything

  • top!

  • if not for the music, i wouldnt love this movie

  • Great cinematography by Du Kefeng and great directing from Wang Jiawei and great acting from Little Tony.

  • sad

  • Slow motion and music can make eating dumpling cool.

  • I love that part of the movie. Very good choice . So beautiful . So touching. some kind of intense poetry in wonderful images. I love .

  • epic movie.

  • The effect wong kar kai creates, but whats he's doing isn't equally that brilliant, he just adds a lil slowmotion and some (very good) classical music.. he repeats this trick a lil too much in the film I think.. it becomes repatative.. he just the same trick in 2046 as well...

  • @sebastiaanbt Wong Kar-Wai doesn't only use the music and the slowmotion to create a great atmosphere. He also uses great background colours andgreat camera shot. He isn't worldwide known as a great director for nothing.

  • @sebastiaanbt yeah I adore your stuff so much better!

It has influenced so many more people and changed the the art of film

far beyond anything WKW could do!

  • this movie fucking kills me every time i watch it

  • I'm in the mood for dumplings now...

  • Masterpiece.

  • breathless desire

  • Going to lunch never looked so sexy!::

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone know the name of the background music?

  • @sustainsik1986 is called Yumeji's Theme, get the soundtrack is amazing!

  • @sustainsik1986

Yumeji's Theme. all music is available on the film soundtrack

  • This is the Wong Kar Wai I know.

  • amazing...but I think the final scene is equally brilliant.

  • Poetic Highlight, very beautiful music -

    Secuencia Poética, Música Hermosísima

  • "best part of 'in the mood for love'"...agreed

  • @fengtianyu yes yes!

  • mesmerised.. lost for words

  • do love this scene

  • La sequenza pià belle del cinema contemporaneo!

  • this movie just kills me every time. one of my all time favorites

  • I saw this movie 6 or 7 years ago and saw it many times after. This is one of the best part of the movie

  • Wong KW is the master of seduction and evocation - I cannot get enough of watching this movie over and over

  • So beautiful. Pretty much every shot in this sequence (and in the film) can be framed and put on a wall as art. Thanks for posting!

  • i totally agree!!!

  • One of the best film sequences ever.

  • Ci credete che mi ha mozzato il fiato?!

    PERFETTA!!

  • it is absolutely breathtaking !!

  • Not cinema...poetry!!!

  • la scena più poetica musicalmente e cinematograficamente perfetta...

  • d'accordissimo!

  • i completely agree... the first time i watched the film and this scene came into play... i just got goosebumps all over. genius.

  • Yes, that's the best part of the film, no doubt about it. You can see it, feel it, taste it, smell it and hear it. Thanks for posting it.
