I wasn't even born when The Hurt and Nightbird hit the charts, but with its tune and lyrics, I became a big fan of Kalapana. I first heard this song way back in 1995 (not on CD but Casette Tape) and I didn't knew then that Kalapana were the artists for The Hurt and Nightbird. Great artists...

I really appreciate you taking the time to add the lyrics here, it makes it easy to understand the song the 1st time you hear it, and this is a great one. What a group & it's a shame a lot of people on the mainland don't have a clue how many great musicians & singers there are here in Hawaii.. for talent, Hawaii probably has more than any other state based on just its population alone..

Just today, I've heard this song being played on the radio 3 times - morning, while on my way to the work, before lunch at the office and @ 3pm while having my coffee break. It is being played redundantly here in the Phils., being covered by some Filipino bands in their gigs, not to mention a number of my friends who own an album. Truly, Kalapana still ROCKS! The Philippines been missin' Mackey for more than ten years now...

Been listening to this everyday for 12 years now. I'll die if someone remove it from my file. I remember, I cried hard when I sold my car to a car dealer and I forgot to get my CD before I left. The next day, I went back to get it, I found out that someone (a customer) who took a look at my former car, asked the dealer if he can take the the CD. whew! It took me 2 months and 16 record bars to find for a replacement, leaving my office as early as I can so that I could have much time to find a CD.
