  • monument!

  • my god yuh can bus' tune eh ;-)

  • great track!

  • Yet another fine example of how Jamaican artists can put their own stamp on great soul tracks. Hortense has a great voice and one of my favs. is My Last Date, I usually play it when I am DJing as people always dance to it.

  • thank you!

  • I was looking for this song version by the manhattens ( which is my fav. version ) but i came across this version .

i have never heard of her before .

i think it sounds great , i really like this version , but not sure how to take it , it appears to be an oldies sound voice , and feel from the pics , but it has such a reggae ( if i spelled that right ) feel to it . what year was this from ? but this is a great version !!!!!!

  • i did alittle watching vids and surfing and answered my own question on her sound . ( i about nailed it listening to this the first time )

i must have lived in a shell , i never heard of her before ( even though it is a bit before my time ) .

i think i'll watch more clips and learn more of her . she has a great sound .

  • Excellent. The wonders of youtube. You find something different and look up more info. Yes its what you would call revival reggae - often dating back to the late 50s and 60s era. Hortense Ellis was the sister of Alton Ellis, the Godfather of rocksteady reggae. Both of whom have sadly passed away.

But I'm really glad that you found something new to please your ears.

  • i luvs it
