Electric cars have gr8 potential. I personally car a lot about my car's performance, and would not have a problem owning an electric car the day they haul ass and are able to hold a charge for a respectable amount of car. Hauling ass, is hauling ass, no matter what ur in (aslong as its not front wheel drive in my case)

I watched the long video when they converted it from car batteries to laptop batteries, the compluter control of the power is very interesting. I don't think it's entirely practical for street use with the current tech but it won't be long before we get to see electric muscle cars on the street.

V8 is one of the most well built engine there is. 12.19 is a decent time but my friend got a record on 7,53 in a bettle. It's not all about the engine it's more about the gearbox and rearaxel. (europes fastest bettle. he have the 2L beetle engine.)

Electric motors are the most advanced motors in the world, they only have one moving part vs however many moving parts an internal combustion engine has, the entire rev range of an electric motor is the power band, giving you instant torque and crazy acceleration, they can last for more than 25 years, and they are very effecient, all this and they dont have to pollute if suppressed technologies were allowed to flow into the market place.

I want electric vehicles to succeed also, but I think it's still quite a way off. Despite the fact motor and battery technology has advanced a lot since the '80s, we are still faced with short range and high cost. Also, the "supressed technology" charge some people make is a farce. Those "suppressed technologies" either don't work, or are not cost effective. Some are even urban legends, which never even existed, like the water-powered engine. Amazing what some people will believe!

@electricityfan actually electric cars do pollute quit a bit because when you plug that car in your pulling electricity from the american power grid witch is roughly 75 to 85 percent fed by coal power if evry one gets electric cars the demand for electricity will go up witch means you know it more demand foe burning coal witch is a huge pollutant unless we go to a renewable resource

Did I read that correctly! The electric car ran a 12.19!? The fastest 5.0 I ever owned ran a high 13! I remember seeing an exhibition of electric race cars at the Long Beach Grand Prix in the mid 1990's. It seemed boring because the only noise was made by the tires until one crashed. The clean up crew seemed to have no idea what to do because of all the battery acid. Things are different now and I want an electric car.
