I'm not an expert on history but I had the impression the French did not settle in very big numbers in Haiti.....just enough to run the plantations, whereas the Spanish in the Dominican Republic (all colonists including plantation owners with slaves) mixed with the Africans and produced the present day mult-racial Dominican people. Most Dominicans today are a mix of Spanish and African....a small minority are pure African and a small minority are pure European.

The Spanish slave owners had more slaves and they raped more black female slaves. hence the reason why a lot of dominicans are mulattos.
Spanish slavery was the worsed compared to any other european nation.

Your are confused and maybe you don't know your geography it have come accross many dominicans that don't even know where haiti is. Well it is on the island of hispanola we both occupy is and we were a country first. We have problems yes but they can be solved and having your own distant cousin turn into your Iago. Will be your own demise in the end. The haitian diaspora will lift up haiti you will see.

Hispañola was the name forced upon the island by the Spanish. Before the Spanish arrived, the island was called Quisqueya! I belong to the Taino Quisqueya island, not the Hispañola. I don't recognize my island by that name. The real name is Quisqueya. Just like Puerto Rico is Borinquen. Just stop it cause you look like a complete idiot. Can't believe you are dominican. Well you probably never been there so what are you arguing about? And ofcoarse, if you aren't Quisqueyano, then you are not DR.

The USA is a bankrupt country...however it is oddly enough ...the most important economic engine in and for the world....
No country will survive if it does not build for itself comparative advantages....
The DR could quickly implement a tax strategy that would require a relatively small amount of time.
The DR can become energy independent...and produce far more sugar cane ethanol than it uses...and can export to the US...
Tourism no. 1 in the world is possible....

I'm from panama,but I live in United states. In Panama there are alot of dominicans and haitians that live there. But I always wonder why dominicans and haitians can't have unity. It's sad,because both countries are next to each other. I have love for haitians and dominicans,they're my brothers and sisters!!
