I have a thought. Seems to me that a case feeder is completely unnecessary. When reloading, EVERY single piece of brass should be hand inspected before it's run through your press and again after it's loaded. Seems to me that is the perfect time to touch and inspect every case before it gets cycled through a press. Which eliminates the need, desire, and time savings of a case feeder. Because that critical step should be done at press entry, or when the case feeder is filled. Your thoughts?
I bought one while I was over seas. Now that I am home I have problem with it not wanting to put out primers I have to skip one time to make sure their is going to be one their. What can I do to fix this problem?
Hey, I'm about to build my reloading bench, I have this press, how far under the table does the press go? Or can you have the 2x4 right on the end like that all the way across?
@t1msguitar just to help you out the dillon above bench mounts work on the hornady if that is an option for you. you just need to do a little drilling
Hey It looks like you have the ezject Lnl setup. Do you ever have problems with it ejecting SW 40 rounds? It just maybe the brass I'm using but, one out of twenty rounds don't eject cleanly
Your going to need more lead exposure than you will get from that! I also have been casting bullets/fishing sinkers, for 30 years, I had a complete physical because the wife was worried, she asked for full blood work up looking for heavy metal. My levels were well with in the safe zone. I worry more about UV than I do about lead!
Thanks for the two videos, you have made my decision to buy the Dillon Powder Check setup. I got the Dillon Low primer warning buzzer and it works great on the Hornady LnL.
I used "Odorless Mineral Spirits" on my LNL AP to remove the anti-rust coating- it worked quite well and it is relatively inexpensive.
As for dry lube, Home Depot sells something called "TDL" or The Dry Lube which is about 1/3 the cost of the Hornady stuff and it also works very well for me in this application- other hardware stores probably have equivalent stuff...
How good is this Hornady compared to a similar set up from Dillon?

Yep, I get that sometimes. I usually just slow down right before it ejects so it doesn't get stuck.

To each his own though, have fun!

@bigdaddy1325
It's not just lead. I like to keep the ammo that I load clean and the gloves keeps me from getting fingerprints and smudges all over the cartridges.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Whats with the gloves?? Your reloaading, not doing prostate exam! Been reloading for 28 years and never found it needed to wear surgical gloves!

I do a lot of reloading with non-jacketed lead bullets. I just do it to protect myself from too much lead exposure.

I used rubbing alcohol to degrease mine. Worked fine.

Brake cleaner works perfect for this as well.

I suppose it would indeed- as long as it was the non-chlorinated stuff. Otherwise, bye-bye paint, plastic hopper and liver... ;)

What is the blue case near the powder drop. Name and function Please. Thanks!

I believe you're referring to the Dillon powder check die. I made a video about it, check my profile.

do you have to prepair cases that have already been used and if you do could you please make a vid showing how
friskyd65 2 years ago
With pistol cases, no. With rifle cases, you have to lube the cases before you size them.
