This is so wonderful to see in action! There aren't any BAT sessions where I'm located but I'm learning a lot by these videos and it's nice to know there's hope for my reactive dog!
We experimented with turns away from the student dog versus into the dog (in this case, to the right versus to the left. It's a little punishing to have your space taken by the handler, which is what happens when you turn into them. Either that, or you have to go forward a bit before turning, and then the dog goes forward, which is too close.
Most regular people won't have the dog beside them when they do this - the dog is usually up ahead - so we found turning away is best, most of the time.
I noticed that the majority of the turns were to the right, away from the decoy. Towards the end, there was one turn to the left that resulted in walking by another dog. Is this intentional or just an automatic response on the part of the handler? Thank you for sharing.
This is a fantastic session. I like the leash configuration better than the first video. Cassie seems so happy working, and isn't that how we want are dogs to be when they are learning? Thanks for posting, and keep those videos coming!!!!

Very interesting! For my dog Zara, "distance" is a big reinforcer, too! I'm looking forward to see you in Germany :))) !

There is a DVD for BAT. Do a google search for Ahimsa and "organic socialization" and you'll find it.

Is there a video that explains the concept of BAT? I think I know what you are doing, but I cannot be sure.
