  • These vids, where John's all amped, are just priceless, soooo BEAUTIFULL! I really think the accoustic portions later are the highlight of the set... Johnny does such an amazing job here, it allways reminds me why I've loved him all these years, when he really had the chance, and motivation to shine out.. just beautifull...

  • Extrait du bonus du film français "Mona et moi" si je ne m'abuse... Je dirais plutôt "1981" ?

  • awlful

  • what song does johnny start playing at 1:46 ?

  • song at 4:16 is "hurt me"...heartbreakers song sung by richard hell

  • a real shit

  • this reminds me of a scene in Sid & Nancy where Sid is on stage singing by himself smacked out..Johnny is a legend though, RIP

  • Johnny had the best hair!

  • That's got to suck getting up on stage all coked way up like that. I don't think I would enjoy that.

  • who's the guy right behind that looks just like him?

Who's who here? Johnny's on guitar...

  • what song at 02:45-ish? anyways, this is great - thanks!

  • 3 precious songs..."Diary...so untouchable and Hurt me"...wish i was there and despise of the lame audience who keeps talking and mumblin on and on...

  • @mariosthunders Rude French Basterds

  • From the looks of him, he has been enjoying Coca Cola classic. HA. Must have been when Christopher was his manager.

  • cold turkey by john lennon

  • This is too sad to watch. Johnny looks half-dead.

  • nop he was just on a hero rush

  • Sad Sad Sad, the apathy both on stage and in the audience says it all.

  • Yum yum bubble gum yum.

    Great vid.

  • GREAT VID.. that's that fucking guy, cool guy btw, french from the dead or alive docum, can someon verfy ths, what a fcking laugh fest he was on the doc.

  • Great memorabillia, thanks Mark

  • commenting back on this...it was a real piss off for the backing band by the way...Johnny was er bit..er...tempre-mental...to say the very least. maybe best in his outcoustic guise. I dunno I wasn't to judge that night.

  • damn this is wicked thank you sooooooooooo bloody much for uploading!! <3

  • Actually, the french have idolized Thunders more than people in the US have. Most of the fan sites are done by the french. Many of the books written about Thunders are by the French. Also alot of the live shows that are video recorded back in the mid 80's are by the French.

  • yes we love johnny;he played a lot here;so much good souvenirs;i lost or gave all my photos stills just a couple.he lived in paris;

  • he was in France a lot in the 80's so it would make sense that there would be vids of him there. he had a dedicated following there for sure.

  • @iggy6 yes it is exact

johnny thunders is a legend in france

  • it's a dumb comment(that guy in the audience who's saying "il chante pas bien",he even repeats it several times during the set and other people keep criticizing in the background too)anyway, who comes to a JT gig looking for and/or expecting perfect on-key vocals ???

  • yeah the guy is saying il chante PAS bien

  • Never seen Thunders cover a Lennon song before..

  • on the audio tape of this I think he does a piece of another beatles song

  • teh gibus gigs in paris were so cute

  • YEAH but not the GIBEE itself as I spent many many a night there and the sound always sucked...as well as the bouncers. TAIEB Bro for ever...

  • In the background, we can hear "il chante pas bien", which means "he sings bad". So sad... : /

In my opinion, J. Thunders he's a real rnr legend...

  • Il chante plus bien

  • Il chante "PAS" bien :D

  • The french dont know nothing anyways! I'm shure its due to not understanding what things like "Like a rolling stone" mean...

The problem is, they dont know bt they think they do.

  • i'm a french person and never understand them for nearly all!a lot are very hard ,cold during the shows i saw.

  • Anyone know the song he starts playing at about 4:16?

  • hurt me

  • Thanks Man!

  • Great video.

    I still missing this motherfucker

  • Today is the day that any one who considers themselves rock'n'roller should be thinking of and listeng to Johnny... so sadly missed, so lovingly remembered.

  • this is so horrible he is so sick and so coked up and fucked up in a really bad way I can hear his jaw clicking I knew this guy Johnny T I know whats going on he is always great but its hard to watch considering it all dammmm it he couldabeen a king the HEARTBREAKERS were the best band around they were so REAL so good Johnny had a ROCK & ROLL HEART miss u baby boy ********** Christopher Girke should ROT IN HELL
  • i knew him a bit too, he thought he WAS king

  • i love baby johnny so much

  • The guy playing harmonica looks like his twin brother. It might be one of his french pals from Paris.

The Gibus was the real punk club of this time, the Paris version of CBGB.

  • The first song they try is "Cold Turkey" by John Lennon. The song is about John Lennon's heroin experiences, or whatever.

  • This is great.

she's so untouchable is one the best Thunders songs ever, so cool.

  • What is the name of the first song that they fuck up? It sounds really great... And the second (the western style), or is it just improvisation?

  • 1st song is Cold Turkey by John lennon

2nd song i am not sure

  • Oh... I think the second song (At least the beginning) is "Illagitammate Of Segovia", Its on the hurt me album

  • secong song she is so untouchable

third song diary of a lover

  • The show may have been 4hrs. It didn't seem

lk it. With all the starts/stops, who knows..

Jungle U.K paid for everything, so they used

    everything.

  • on the tapes I have there are tones of starts and stops, I think he even does a Beatles song

  • Thunders acustico , hurt me , el mejor disco acustico de mi vida

    Larga vida al rey Johnny

  • WATCHA GONNA DO BROTHER?!

  • i have only the audiotapes, good to see the video

  • Man, I have a good batch of Thunders on dvd and VHS too, but not this. This looks and sounds awesome. I would love to have a copy. I ain't payin' no $50 tho'.

  • nobodys got the 4 hr video i know...just the 4 hr audio. the audio tapes an audience recorded tape, what i have anyways. this clips released by who ever put out the pro version of Mona and me-i am sure theres more. theres a ton of shit out there I dont have i am sure. I know of at least 10 things. video is far and away my favorite way to enjoy music outside of live.

  • Do you mean this is a official release, because at the end of part 2 of this show there are subtitles and I read the name MALAVIDA, and that's the french label that released Mona et Moi, and I know that is a doubledvd, with the movie on one dvd, and extras on the other dvd, including a concert at the Gibusclub.

  • Only according on the information that I read that show on that dvd was in 1987, and I thought it wasn't a whole show, but just one song on it. And this is from 1983, but because of the subtitles at the end of part 2 and your comment, I was wondering if this was an official release. Sorry for my english.

  • Its released with a version of Mona et Moi, its from 1983, it has the date in the start, i just didnt upload that part

  • okay,thanks

  • I have this on 2 CD's and have sold numerous copys on eBay before, some fetching large sums like $50. It's an amazing show, with some RARE Jt song's like him covering Wooly Bully and Honey Don't. It's classic.

  • i have it too, whats the date on yours?

  • From what my audio copies say it is either Dec 21 or Dec 22 1983. The longer copy is Dec 22, about 4 hours. Both dates have acoustic with harmonica,,, one of them is mostly Johnny constantly tuning his guitar and playing only a few chords of all his songs.

  • i have that one

  • Wow, I never saw this. I actually do have a lot of Johnny Thundersfootage on dvds, but I have never seen this. And the quality is really great.

  • theres about 5 mins more of this video that I have. my son uploads these for me when he's in town. I have a good one of Jerry gettin a haircut i wanna upload next time i get my kid here

  • Thanks for posting this! I can't believe how clear it is! If you have more of this please post it!!

  • Amazing! I must find a copy for me. Really great. Thanks for putting it up.

  • Wow! :)

Bad that i doesn't got sound right here and now. :(

Looks really great, the picture quality looks soooo good and is sooo clear!

  • I believe this from Dec 23 1983, its part of an approx. 4 hr show which I have on audio tape.

    mark
