  • Why my idea of this - when I was 11 - got shot down immidiatly, is because filling tanks with air is the downside part

  • 0:37 NOT TRUE! Seen it before. You can only drive on it for a little over one hour so it's not very practicle for most people.

  • I ride a Unicycle

  • I think people forget that it takes power to compress the air in the first place, and where does that power come from? Unless you're using all wind turbines and solar panels to compress the air, you really aren't being all that green, especially since it doesn't seem to be an incredibly efficient design, when you look at how much air it takes to go a short distance. There are electric motorcycles already that go faster and are more efficient.

  • inefficient and no torque. not a good idea.

  • Nice invention..Great..I will buy one when oil resources deplete completely...

  • Jai hoo veer jawan ,an amezaing invention

  • haha a hand pump i like that idea, lol, there are lots of different and cool things out there, some one just needs to look for them.

  • id rather ride a horse

  • Thats really smart and really practical.. why the hell not?

  • @iamgig9876 i just can't believe the amount of ignorant people there are in this world. people like you who don't know anything about a country and its people but love to make stupid comments. just because its not a white person, you don't have to be rude and jealous or anything like that. just appreciate the efforts of these people, at least they are doing something to help the environment what are you doing sitting at home drinking beer....

  • @jot1991 no.. i make fun of jews and gingers too...

  • @jot1991 I am a theoretical physicist CH3-CH2-O-CH2-CH3 figure out what retarded unproven theory it came from? =) the ether theory.. now E=mc^2 another retarded hypothesis, even star wars proved it wrong =)

  • the powere comes from their towelhead allah thing...

  • @iamgig9876 how fucking retarded do you have to be before you actually make a comment like that?

  • They eat lots of daal and curry, and viola ..... lots free gas.

  • Nice project. Lets keep in mind though that it runs on coal--very inefficiently.

  • Comment removed

  • Very nice invention; how much many psi pressure is required in the two air tanks? If high pressure, it could be dangerous in case of an accident because those might blow up like pressurized containers. That could be a little dangerous in busy streets. How about using carbon fiber for the air tanks - I know that would be pricey but would make this a lot safer for the roads....Once again congratulations to the four guys who made this!

  • T he mining industry has been using sturdy powerful piston engines that run on compressed air for maybe a hundred years It gives them a relatively safe and clean way to transmit power underground, were it is often very wet and exhaust fumes can be a problem, as the supply of breathable air is finite!

  • Comment removed

  • the power comes from their armpit.

  • It needs some card board in the spokes to improve the sound!

  • so would you carry a foot pump with you in case you get a flat tank?

  • engine is also compressor in indian car for regenerative braking.

  • @pyramonitor And you need to get out a bit more and stop making things up

  • "something no one has done before"

Yeah right... this has been tried many times, even in children's toys.

  • crash = big boom?

  • @MineCraftFilms not if the tank is designed properly

  • Yeah screw gas

  • @Mrnjk12345

    "Yeah screw gas"

Just how do you think the compressed air was created?

  • @solobackpacking im a 14 year old its a joke get a life asshole

  • @Mrnjk12345

That's mighty stupid even for a 14 year old.

I was making engines at elementary.

  • @solobackpacking Ok not all of us are fucking steven hawkings and making engines at 10 years old;My family didnt have the money to egt me into school intill this year so fuck u u jerkoff

  • @Mrnjk12345

    Attitude adjustment is highly recommended.

To my great frustration I accept and do NOT expect all people to be a genius.

As for my childhood projects, I got them from the garbage.

    Hardly any money required.

Mistakes are just opportunities to learn.

And do you think it's easy for kids that score perfect on IQ tests to be accepted by people like you?

    It's always scorn and anger.

  • It cant combust , but its under pressure so it could explode

  • what if like the toyota prius when the brake is engaged it compressed more air for use during acceleration?too heavy compressor maybe.

  • If we INDIANS could invent more fuel efficient stuff like this, or Air powered Cars we can make our country economy grow!!

  • @Sasukekillsitachi Chak de India

  • Unless they start to fill the tanks with a foot pump then this idea is totally pointless!

Just how much energy does it take to fire up a compressor to fill the tanks.

couple this with the miles per litres of air consumed and i would say they would create less pollution using normal unleaded petrol!

or even charging some kind of battery pack.

  • @thanxx charge the tanks using electricity from solar and wind on your houses roof, problem solved

  • @MrROTD yeah fair point.but wind powers not all its cracked up to be on the 'green front'.

Inside wind turbines are neodymium magnets that are about as green as two jags Prescott lol.

  • someone tell me how far that bike goes on those two tanks.

  • how many horse power do you get on a ride like that? 1/4HP may be?

  • @Smonjirez wow how did i forget about that.

  • haha the bike looks 50 years old haha. try sellin that patten buddy

  • yeah, ok you need a fossil fuel to compress the air but now you don't create more carbon emission by using gasoline.

  • @spidey1242 err you can also use green energy to compress air

  • No carbon emissions, until you need energy to refill your air tank.

"Emits nothing but oxygen"? Clearly the host has no idea what the atmosphere is made from.

  • @Dallas8844 Completely true. And when most of the population is as ignorant that they do not know the difference between air and oxygen, how can they be expected to be able to make correct energy choices in our contemporary complex market.

  • Comment removed

  • @Dallas8844 Many air compressors are running at efficiency as low as 10%. A diesel engine have fuel efficiency of 30~40%. it actually emit more carbon dioxide per mileage on compressed air.

  • @Dallas8844

Yeah, but you could use electricity to power the compressor using nuclear, solar or wind energy.

  • @wiigamer136 and throw away 70% of the energy or you could use batteries and only lose 15% of the energy Decision decisions

  • @Dallas8844 what if they would use a solar panel powered air compressor?

  • @Dallas8844 Are you really that dumb? You can generate power using air, water, and sunlight. Therefore the compressor used to "refuel" the bike is clean aswell..

  • @p38lightning7 No, I'm not that dumb.Only about a quarter of India's electricity is generated by renewables, therefore three quarters of the compressors (on average) will ultimately result in carbon emissions. Constructing and transporting the bikes will also emit carbon. And microgeneration using small solar panels would dramatically increase the price of the compressors, which require a substantial amount of power. You'd also need them dispersed over a wide area before you could sell one bike.

  • @Dallas8844 What about a hand pump?maybe a water wheel powered pump ,lol. yes it would take awhile but it's money or time.

  • @Dallas8844 How does that prove that the host doesn't know what the atmosphere is made up of?

    You can emit oxygen right?

  • @peterjbark Yes, but not "nothing but oxygen". Unless, of course, you fill the bike with nothing but oxygen. Which would be pointless.

  • @Dallas8844 the guy who posted the video did not make that Bike and also air powered are more efficient, By the way this is a really cool engineering work so try appreciate it rather joking about it..

  • @krisindigitalage Air power is more efficient than what? Gasoline? Compressed air has about 0.54% of the energy density of gasoline. Hence, assuming the same engine efficiency for this bike versus a gasoline bike, you'd need 190kg of air to go as far as 1kg of gasoline.

The air would also have to be dehydrated, since expansion in the cylinders would cause the water vapor to condense, either flooding the cylinders or freezing in valves.

And air-powered vehicles have been around since the 1920s.

  • but can it do a wheelie...

  • Solar power is "an" answer but people always use it to charge up massively polluting batteries, really no better at all. Better to use wind/solar power to directly fill up a compression tank that you then use to fill up an Air car. No pollution what so ever. Doesn't take hours to charge up either, unlike battery vehicles.

  • Hardly a new idea, there are already 2 different air engines in production

    /watch?v=Dq8aZVLpf-c&playnext=1&list=PL069C4257B28D506C

  • slow...

  • stupid idea, they r using more energy to compress the air first. stupid people

  • And what compresses the air? an Air compressor that runs on electricity, that is generated by coal, or oil?

  • @random123outburst No it can be generated by wind, and solar energy. Why the hell are you so obsessed with Coal? sheesh get off it. we need to move on you stupid motherfucker

  • @14omega28ok i'm obsessed with coal? I ride my bike every where I go and you have an american flag in you profile picture, and you think that I am obsessed with coal?

  • @random123outburst Yes you are. Because you insist we keep using it to generate electricity you idiot. Why is your mind so narrow as to not see other possibilities of generating electricity with greener technology (Such as wind, solar, ect). and what the hell does my profile pic have to do with it you dumbass? I'm from America, But I'm into the greener technologies. Wow what a stereotypin narrow minded dumbfuck you are

  • @14omega28ok hey thanks :) That means a lot to me, and I don't know if you noticed, but my comment was actually a question. Like the one with the question mark (?) at the end, it implies that I don't know, and that I am anticipating an answer. I am not condoning the use of coal as a fuel source, in fact, I do a lot of things to reduce my dependance on coal. So if you don't respond, I would be fine with that, but if you want to drag this on, that is entirely up to you.

And PS. It's Etc not Ect

  • @random123outburst Well most people who say that are being sarcastic like and what compresses the air? Oh coal this idea is stupid. Etc. It just pisses me off when people think they are being intelligently sarcastic when in fact they are making themselves look like complete narrow minded dumbasses. So if you were not being sarcastic, Sorry

  • @random123outburst im obsessed with cole too.Cheryl that is:)

  • These guys didn't "Invent" it, they took the idea and applied it to a motorcycle.

After more than thirty years experience with combustion engines, the French engineer Guy Negre has developed a concept of a totally non-polluting engine for use in urban areas.

This invention, which uses high pressure (300 bar) compressed air to store the energy needed for running the engine, is protected world-wide by more than 20 patents owned by MDI.

  • Another green joke

  • Around 160,000 people have watched a video about the possible answer to the gas problem... and over 10,000,000 people watch a video about fat guys falling down and kittens playing piano. Yeah that makes sense.

  • @ZOMGstephen It does make sense because this video is even less use than a cat playing piano but not nearly as funny

  • Not zero emmision !!! you must somehow make compressed air... and that takes power, made at a power plant, unless you "stir the coconuts" or pedal something to compress the air, but then you may as well ride a bicycle... could be less emmisions than a standard motorcycle, but that depends on the power plant.

People call battery power zero emmisions too, but that is only if the power source for charging is green, like solar, same as with this motorcycle.

  • @livingdeadbtu agree but I think it still is less emission than the ordinary gasoline cycle, someone hast to com with numbers here

  • @hypersupermamado Yes, Especially with 2 oily stroke enines - greatly reduced. the thing is, a ZEV is vehicle tha uses solar or some other zero emmisions power source, a NZEV would be something like thisbike, with gretaly reduced emmisions, or a prius or volt, and then LEV is newer vehicles like volkswagon Jetta and others with very low emmisions. It rubs me the wrong way when the press calls something zero emmisions when in reality, the emmisions is moving from the tailpipe to the smokestack.

  • they should have just stuck to their magic carpets.

  • @gabriell16bishop come to think of it, thanks for reminding us... we did invent the magic carpet long back, didn't we :)?

  • one of the good solution for shortage and high cost of petrol

  • Shit I can walk faster than that bike

  • laughin at the shittness of the bike at 1:08

  • They should have the 'exhaust' run straight back into the tank so it would be a perpetual motion engine. Then all you need is a valve to stop the flow of air into the motor to turn it off.

  • @BigCanOfBeans make it and get rich then

  • @BigCanOfBeans Yeah great plan except for the fact the exhaust air pressure is lower than the tank pressure. You have to compress the air to more than the pressure inside the tank to get it back in.

  • excellent..I want one, where do I learn more? thanks

  • they should add something to the tires so when spinning happens it somehow charges some sort of battery to help it work better

  • @theultimateninja i'm sorry, just asked, but the first thermodinamyc law told "no sorry" :D

  • Corporate News = Fake News

  • that is so cool i want one but how fast the it go?

  • I wish i could wear a bath towel on my head without getting made fun of.. o wait they do get made fun of

  • That could be already on the street, but hey there is no money in it.

  • What about the French inventor who mad an airpowered car 10 years before these rip-off artists?

  • @localbkk there is a guy from uruguay how invented a bicycle that runs on compresed air in the early 80´s too

  • Does this mean you can refuel at Taco Bell? :)

  • turbanator on air bike

  • this is fantastic. but there are a couple of problems; you need energy to compress the air and if those cylinders were to rupture in an accident you'd have a sizable explosion

  • FUCKING AWESOME, INDIA FTW! Congrats from USA!!

  • way to go india!!!

  • It doesn't run on air, it runs on coal, or gas, or nuclear power. Probably gasoline if it's from India. It's not free energy, brotha

  • @plmnbvcxz1234567890

    Or solar...

  • @wiigamer136 mmm, brotha. Or geothermal!

  • @plmnbvcxz1234567890

Yeah. It might be nuclear since there are nuclear plants there.

  • 3000 psi

    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    mach 5

  • @nessnes64 whoops, i meant 30000 psi

  • You still have to expend energy compressing the air - no win. Same as electric vehicles - you have to generate the power to run them.

  • @davidrobert2007 Except the energy used for compressing the air is drastically less than oil and even lithium ion batteries.

  • kanjiru tosi mera sapna chori kita!!!

  • but how do you compress the air?

  • he696baby

  • replacing combustion explosion caused pressure by ....dilatating air pressure...

not as smart as it may look to some.

  • Go India!

  • Probably the gayest thing ive seen lately

  • @nicg814 what is your definition of "gayest"? genius?

  • @nicg814

    that's not poo!

    working machine!

  • A ruptured airtank doesn't result in a great white shark killing explosion like many people incorrectly believe but overpressured tanks are still quite dangerous.

  • @oeyesea and petrol tanks on fire are much safer? If we spread a positive word about this it will get exposure and more people wanting one thereforte more money for them to make cages or somthing to protect the tank. Either way better than petrol

  • hah! yeah, they already have astounding numbers of vehicle crashes everyday in India, and they think strapping 2 massive compressed cylinders of gas will make it better?

  • Can someone tell, which college do the students belong to. They are all wonderful...

  • Thats awsome, you could fill it up free at the servo.

  • french did it long time ago with a car, they talk bullshit as allways, india cant make anything, they can only copy

  • @mariuspm

Fuck you. If you have brains, you would know that this a motorcycle for India. Besides, these are students, asshole. They didn't graduate college yet.

  • so uhh im guessing thats at a max 125 to 150 psi in which case that engine will compress air at 350psi and combustion outputting almost 9000psi... that engines design is not efficient enough to cope with such low pressure. fuel economy would increase if the design was at .least 75 to 80 %efficient, that being a rotary motor possibly normal engine designs only have at 65 percent co rating compared to what they could have

  • hey guys just an idea lol but to create compressed air , you need power , that power would most likely be fuel , or electricity wich in alot of cases comes from fuel too. people should use theyre stupid ass brain before coming up with more useless shit.

  • So i learned something in science class today, hes driving a plant?

  • if you got all the politicians to use one, they could cruise forever with all the hot air they produce...

  • @ftwopointeight True that!

  • @ftwopointeight are u making fun of politicians or just criticizing the consequences of the air motorbike?

  • How far does the two tanks take you? 400 meters?

  • so how does one fill the bottles of compressed air? OH use a petrol powered compressor. duh!

  • @aaronturkey The compressor can be powered off of anything: solar, wind, wood/steam, water, naked slave girls on exercycles, hamsters, etc.

  • PLease dont bring this to the U.S.! The only thing this will cause is for the large corporations to tax air!

  • It's fun to tinker and make things... but this isn't clean at all. Unless there is a team of people compressing the air by hand (which there isn't) then there is a machine that is using fossil fuels to compress it. End of story.

  • @meforgodforall If there is no team to compress the air the wages must be 2 low.The way to do it would be to have compressors hooked up to exersize machines and get all the fat people to pay to fill this blokes cylinders up.I reckon this story is just begining!Fossil fuels are not necessary if you compress the air using solar power.

  • but wat do they use to preasurize air

  • They never addressed the energy it takes to MAKE the compressed air tanks. If the factory making those compressed air tanks is pumping out a ton of CO2/pollutants into the environment then what the fuck is the point of this.

  • @theguyi26 lol...I was thinking about the same thing

  • 2cycle....simple design...it will work..engineers will hate it...

  • wow, that's pointless... pollution-free you say? Where the fuck do you think you get the energy to compress that air intially? ELECTRICITY!!! Typically, electricity plants are only about 30% efficient. Which means, the energy you put into the plant, you get 30% of it out in electricity, which you still pay for to run the air compressor to compress the air to put into the bike. Your carbon footprint is either the same, or worse. Waste of fucking time and effort.

  • Yeaaa lets crash into each other with compressed air tanks, that'll be fun to watch.

  • Not that impressive. Students from San Jose, California designed a bicycle which is cheaper to design and moves faster, and farther. See "AIR POWERED VEHICLE"

  • @GuysSeriously I'm American, but i agree with you 100%.

  • @YoungAndPrepping

This is SO inefficient it is aced by an electric bike. Solar to battery to motor

The moment you introduce compressed air the losses hammer the efficiency

  • @GuysSeriously Im American and I know that a good number are Indonesian so what now ,,,,,,,,,

  • clever little indians !!

  • a hand cranked or pedal powerd compressor would be ideal 4 this as it would make it completly free and emmision free to run

  • COMPRESS AIR

YEA PUT A SMALL HOLE N IT WILL BLAST EVERY BODY OFFFFFFFFFFF.

  • woow ... i din believe when ppl said indians are wise. but i i dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • This technology is French.

  • @KenMacMillan

What technology? Compressed air? lol :D

  • @GutsSeriously not all douche haha

  • What about lubricant? i could not imagine that the engine would run for very long without lubricant. It originally runs of gasoline mixture for lubricant.

  • @GuysSeriously well, yall have turbans

  • @jaza505 whats that mean? it makes us all automaticly terroists just because some idiots in caves fucked up the meaning of a turban?

  • i like gasoline :-)

  • Only guy in the world that looks cool with a turband.

  • @GuysSeriously ya like saying Hindus are as cool as Persians ya right Iran way beats India and Israel beats Iran

  • @GuysSeriously haha soo true...actualyl europeans thinks the same

  • all he needs now is a air compressor cylinder feed by a petrol piston engine

  • @GuysSeriously Not every American thinks that, there are a lot of assholes on youtube that give Americans bad rep.

  • @GuysSeriously same sht.

  • its extremely easy to make a 2 stroke like this run on air. remove the carb/muffler and then hook an air hose to the spark plug hole, then set the piston right after the top of the stroke, and voila, it should run given enough pressure and not too much pressure. or atleast it works on my weed whacker
