  • I never believed that God will love me if I am good enough. I DO believe that failure to conform to God's character will result in discipline.

  • Oprah is a devil.she does everything for money.

  • Plus, I feel for Mark to say that Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc. are out there trying to earn their way to heaven doing what they feel is the Lord's work for no money , while he collects a paycheck bashing others in the name of Christ is pretty ............. oh well, you get the picture.

  • @nannykiki

I think there many be some confusion here. The belief systems that Pastor Mark recited at the end of this video are not Christians in light of Scripture, meaning they are based upob false teachings that are against the Word of God. Therefore he is not bashing Christians. Mormons and Jehovah Witness has theology that is based on works. If faith is by works then the act Christ did on the cross is void. I would invite to do research on the groups he listed and

  • @nannykiki

and cross reference that information with Christians doctrine (Scripture) and see if what he said is true or not.

  • I don't disagree with his comments regarding not being able to earn your way to heaven with works. But, he saying no one should go on a mission or make a sacrifice because that means they are trying to earn their way to heaven? People who do good works know His grace is all that is needed. They give of themselves because they love Him, not to get a GOLD STAR. It is ok to teach you can't earn your way to heaven. It is not ok to deceive others about their intentions regarding what they do.

  • so you agree that the Law has no value yet still tell people the need to give 10% of their cash to you, based on OT law?

  • @etherform66 The Commandments of the OT still stand as far as the morals and values -- thou shall not cheat, steal, kill, commit adultery, etc.

  • @CosmicGrounds wrong on both counts cosmo.. for starters, the word Lucifer is a mistranslation of the Hebrew word "helyel" which means "to howl" - it is translated as such in dozens of other instances. The word Lucifer appears once only in scripture. If that was the name of the devil - he would have been refered to many times in scripture as Lucifer. 2nd - ALL the old testament commands have been done away with. Paul refers to the commands as "the ministration of death" 2 cor 3:7 - they r gone

  • @etherform66 Wrong. Lucifer means, "the morning star". The word, "Satan" means adversary. It doesn't matter how many times a name comes up, whether it is devil or Satan -- the bottom line is that it's to be known that he's the enemy. Satan is the name given to Lucifer after his fall.

Regarding the commandments, does Jesus not say, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." - John 14:15? How are those commandments done away with? The keeping of Sabbath and pork eating are done away, but others not.

  • @CosmicGrounds typical evangelical - poor listening and learning skills.. - i never said "lucifer means howl" I said Lucifer is a mistranslation of a Hebrew word Heylel - In all Hebrew or Aramaic texts of Isa. 14:12, the only word found is "heh-lehl," eill, which is a form of the Hebrew stem "yah-lahl," ill, meaning howl. Get Kittel’s Lexicon and check out the Stem "ill—yah-lahl" you will see it means HOWL.

  • @etherform66 You're telling me I have the poor listening and learning skills and you can't even keep the story in the bible accurate.

  • @CosmicGrounds i dont buy into 'bible stories' cosmo - i have a passion for the word of God - you hate the word of God - you preach the 'gospel' in such a way as to frighten people into giving you cash - that what y'all are about - cash - you lie and tell people they must give cash to God in the for of a tithe "or else" - wolf is sheeps clothing! woe to you bro..

  • I think sometimes we treat God (the Father especially) like he is mono-emotional. Like he either loves or hates but never both. I think the Bible is clear that the Father is very angry not just at sin but at sinners who have not out their faith in Christ. But God the Father love his elect so much to send Jesus to save his elect who are sinners. So he is very angry at them but also loves them. It is a both and and not an either or.

  • @MrBlackhaw Are you implying that we EITHER take your both/and view to be true OR nothing else?

  • Comment removed

  • @europeanbamf That is what I think and I have think I have Biblical basis for it. But I am human. And I think it is a matter for discussion. There are more nuances to what I said but this youtube and it has its limits. But I would point you or anyone else to john 3:16, Romans 5:8, and Ephesians 1. Eph. 1 is interesting because it states How God the Father predestined us to adopted in Christ and to lavish us with grace. I say he loved us even while we were siners.

  • god hates sinners does he not? So us declaring war and turning away we're his enemies..Thats why he wants us to repent and turn from sin, and accept Jesus

  • Wow that's some harsh thoughts to put out there for people to obsorb. I'm no Dr. Phil but you have a really outlandish perspective of the correct way that God will love you. The examples you used whether it was the pile or the bloody tampon is to get people to understand your point and get the message across to them and I get your method of getting people's attention. I can assure you and everyone else, that Our Creator doesn't hold hatred and disgust towards us. The devil may but not God.

  • @tomgunc

God does hate the sinner. "The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers." Psalm 5:5

Every man has a wrath of God upon them, but there is hope! If you believe in Jesus Christ, you'll have an eternal life. If you don't, the wrath of God remains upon you and you will go to Hell:

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." John 3:36

  • @JuzziBurnsRed He hates the sin not the sinner. He loves his sons and daughters, but realizes that he has to punish them of their bad choices when they didn't listen to his fatherly judgment.

  • @jselvrom

Why do you rely on traditions more than the word of God? The Scripture clearly tells us that God does hate the sinner as well.

Of course God doesn't hate a sinning saint, but a sinner who hasn't yet believed on Christ.

  • @JuzziBurnsRed Wow read the bible, and everywhere in it you will see that God loves the sinners and hates the sin. Seriously show me a verse that in context says otherwise.

  • @jselvrom

I already gave you the verse Psalm 5:5. God does hate all evildoers. But if you're in Christ, He no longer hates you. Why? Because ALL of God's wrath that was absorbed by Christ's death.

So, the wrath of God is upon all mankind, but He offers us hope, which is Jesus Christ.

  • @JuzziBurnsRed again you are taking this out of context. He hates the Evil committed not the person. Are you going to say that a father hates his son? Or does a father love his son and want him to as for forgiveness? A father never hates his son, He only hates the sons actions.

  • @jselvrom

The Bible clearly teaches that there are children of God and children of the Devil. (John 8:44 and 1 John 3:10) Only those who have believed in Jesus Christ are God's children.

Yes, you're right. God doesn't hate his sons, but their actions. Unbelievers aren't God's sons, but they're children of the devil. Like I said earlier, John 3:36 says:

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."

  • @JuzziBurnsRed who created the devil? (Gen 3:1)

  • @etherform66 God created Lucifer. Lucifer rebelled. Sin originated from Lucifer who is now Satan. Anything other than God's order is evil.

  • @CosmicGrounds additionally, Elohim designed the devil from the beginning to be evil. Satan never decided to become evil one day, without Elohim knowing about it. I Jn 3:8 "he who sins is from the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning." Jesus also said (jn 8:44) "You are of your father the devil -he was a murderer from the beginning" The Hebrew word for satan (translated serpent in Gen) is Nachash - it means 'shining enchanter/divinator' This is the deciever - created that way !

  • @etherform66 Wrong. A contradiction of God being the origin of good and creating a being with the intentions of him being evil in the first place, right? Based on what you're arguing you're saying that God purposely created an evil being to reign terror on his own creations; however, in truth in the Word, God can not do such a thing as he originally created Lucifer as good. Lucifer decided to rebel as sin originated from him.

  • @CosmicGrounds God is the creator of evil cosmo - read your Bible, let Elohim be true and every man a liar - Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, & create darkness: I make peace, & CREATE EVIL: I Yahweh do all these things. Lamentations 3:38 Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and EVIL come? Amos 3:6 Does EVIL befall a city, unless Yahweh has done it? Ezekiel 6:10 & they shall know that I am Yahweh; I have not said in vain that I would do this EVIL to them. DOZENS MORE..

  • @etherform66 And yet, despite I posted the scriptures that evidently shows that Lucifer who is now Satan was only evil because he chose to you ignore them. You post that I should read my bible. How about you actually read the bible and actually read what it says instead of twisting those scriptures? You're only twisting those scriptures that way, because you hate God obviously -- there are no scriptures that point that God created evil.

  • @CosmicGrounds you have not posted scriptures shoving that lucifer is satan! You posted one verse from Eze 28- thats it! The one time lucifer is mentioned isnt even in the book of Eze - its in Isaiah - You force your own pretext understanding into scripture and ignore biblical and historical context - way to go cosmo - its because of people like you that the church is the laughing stock of the world. You have no idea who God is or what His mission is! haha!

  • @etherform66 Isaiah 45:7 uses the word, "evil" to be be meant as directed by God at the enemies of His People. Lamentations 3:38 is a rhetorical question as the Lord does not say he will when he won't, neither does he say he won't, when He will. Ezekiel 6:10 describes the kind of punishment God was ushering toward the evilness of the Jews, not that he actually created or evil comes from him.

Keep those scriptures coming, so I can shoot them down, you despicable serpent.

  • @CosmicGrounds i didnt come down in the last shower of rain like your devotees cosmo - i understand hermenutics and exegesis and i also understand that God is in control, not the will of man, not the devil (as you teach) - you just cant comprehend because you are a carnal babe! It was God and not Satan, or Adam that subjected creation to futility - shame on you for exalting satan and man above Eloim!

  • @etherform66 The only one exalting Satan is you. For it is only you who is posting that God is the originator of evil. I have no idea what god you believe in, but it is not the one who rules the universe since the beginning. You do realize that when you're saying that God is the originator of evil that you're posting that he is evil to begin with? I may not be a scholar, but I'm smart enough to realize I'm speaking with one of Satan's false teachers.

  • @etherform66 Continued.

"Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee." Ezekiel 28:15

Lucifer who is now Satan had freewill to either commit to God or to go against him. While God knew of Lucifer's outcome, he also knew that Lucifer through freewill could have not rebelled as well.

  • @CosmicGrounds cosmo i have exams on and would appreciate succinct replies, geeez.. ramble on why dont ya..Eze 28:15 - Hiram was the king of Tyre (to whom this proclamation was directed) and he supplied solomon with gold and cedar to build the temple (1kings 9:11) He turned against Elohims people and Elohim severely punished him. "Perfect' does not refer to a supernatural being - Noah was perfect Abraham David, Job too - precious stones=brestplate, cherub=place of divine privelage, etc etc etc

  • @etherform66 Then refrain from posting deliberate arguments to distort truth for your own self gain and I won't have to baby-step everything regarding certain situations in the bible that obviously happened and are backed by scriptures. We can go on with this for days and weeks if you want, but I'm not going to let a liar as yourself to post misinformation to attempt to discredit God without shooting all your arguments down with scriptures that are carefully read and understood.

  • @CosmicGrounds haha you couldnt shoot a barn door cosmo - your arguements are pagan to the core - i too can go on and on - i have met serpents like you before - all you want is people to submit to you so you can control them! haha not me cosmo!

  • @etherform66 So you're simply trolling then...thought so after awhile as no one can be this delusional.

  • @CosmicGrounds hehe i devote a portion of my time to exposing the lies of minister like you cosmo - you dont frighten me one bit! You and your pagan ways are numbered friend! shalom!

  • @etherform66 Those same words will echo in your mind as your soul withers in hell's flames. Remember this when you're attempting to debate me with your hateful, demonic, and incorrect arguments:

"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." - Galatians 1:8

For every time you post another lunatic argument I'll post that scripture. You know the truth scares you, so you act tough online as if I care.

  • @CosmicGrounds Yah loves you cossie, He will save you and open your eyes in due course. He is faithful to save to the uttermost - even gospel rejecting. Mosaic Law enforcing pharisees like you - tithing and Ten commandments etc etc.. you already have a seat in the Lake of Fire - leave me alone you misguided zealot....

  • @etherform66 Ezekiel 28:15 is a foreshadow of Lucifer and how evilness was brought upon in existence through his rebellion. Regarding, "perfect", the men you listed were not perfect for they were sinners. If they were perfect they would have had no need for God in the first place.

  • @CosmicGrounds yeah right so lucifer - the most evil being in the universe was perfect? evil begins in the heart cosmo, if he sinned it was because he was imperfect to begin with. Your point is moot tho, Lucifer is a latin word mistranslated from a Hebrew word - you wouldnt bother checking though! Your a stiff necked serpent like your religious fathers! YOUR PRECIOUS LUCIFER IS NOTHING BUT A MISTRANSLATION!

  • @etherform66 How bold. To claim the truth to be lies, despite it's right in front of your face. Why bother checking any of your lies? You can't even recognize the difference between God and Satan by saying God created evil.

  • you are distracting me from my studies with your retarded comments cosmo - post what you want - ill deal with you later - hahahahah! Christian indeed - doesnt even believe the will of Elohim is greater than the whims of his creation!

  • @etherform66 I'm distracting you, huh? Yeah, the truth does that to the soul of any individual who argues with the lies from the Devil himself. You have already lost any credibility from get-go when you posted that God is the originator of evil, despite you know the truth.

  • @etherform66 So, etherform, was your question answered?

  • @CosmicGrounds so NO, you have not answered anything cosmo - you have regurgitated the same old pagan swill that has been around for a very long time. Oh and the OT Law is defunct and has been replace by a NEW COVENANT - every single article of the Ten Commandments if now found in the NT and MORE! GO READ YOUR BIBLE COSMO - start with Hebrews ..

  • @etherform66 Regarding what? The pagan belief that Lucifer had freewill and God didn't create evil as you believe?

  • @CosmicGrounds haha free will indeed! free will is only possible in the absense of causality cosmo - are you free from causality? is satan? is anyone? If you have free will, will not to die, will not to grow old, will that I stop exposing your pagan lies, will that the sun not rise tomorrow. go on. show me your free will - a will that is free from causailty. haha

  • Rubbish, show some respect. Just because Christianity happens to be the religion preferred in his country does not mean he can use that broad brush on all others

  • @dingo432 Christianty is not a religon it's a relationship god has seen our hearts it's called sin.

  • Aah! I like the preaching but he keeps using religious and legalism as synonyms. Pet peeve of mine

  • I can't believe that Mark used the words "Huge steaming pile" and "Skiddish" in the same 6;44 clip!!!

  • @Jesusisthelord02 God is not limited nor is our salvation earned by works! And God is everywhere, even the temple

  • @Jesusisthelord02 If human beings, who began as spirit-children of God, can have a body, there is no reason why God cannot also have a body. Following his resurrection, Christ appeared to his disciples in Jerusalem and said, "Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have" (Luke 24:39). Since Christ has a resurrected body, it would be wrong to say that the Godhead is spirit only?

  • @Jesusisthelord02 Yes i do, just like Jesus has a body, and says i do everything i see my father do

  • @jonnygotz2343 just because you don't see an exact word in the Bible doesn't mean it is illegitimate to coin a term that refers to a deeper theological concept. The word is still a reference to a truth that you find in Scripture. It is only if the meaning behind the term is false that you should disregard it completely. Like "Papal Infallibility"

  • @Jesusisthelord02 Then why does jesus say in heaven their are many mansions, and rewards are given to people for their work here on this earth

  • @Jesusisthelord02 i believe we are saved by grace after all that we can do!, It makes it easy for so called christians to live in sin and have grace abound as paul says! We do the best we can and christs atonement covers the rest because we are sinners and deserve death, but christ died for us so we can live with him again

  • @Jesusisthelord02 you're trolling me. Everyone knows Judaism came before Christianity. You had me going for a second there.

  • @Jesusisthelord02 faith in christ, repentance, baptism, and enduring to the end!

  • @Jesusisthelord02 we believe in christian beliefs!

  • Thus there are, in the Eternal Godhead, three persons--God the first, the Creator; God the second, the Redeemer; and God the third, the Testator. These three are one--one God if you will--in purposes, in powers, and in perfections. But each has his own severable work to perform, and mankind has a defined and known and specific relationship to each one of them. It is of these relationships that we shall now speak. Bruce Mcconkie

  • @Jesusisthelord02 Read the Intro to the BOOk OF MORMON! Jesus the ETERNAL GOD, we believe hes GOD too

  • @Jesusisthelord02 Jesus is the Son of God !

  • @Jesusisthelord02 The talmud came before the old testament. Are you trying to say otherwise?

  • @Jesusisthelord02 Everything in the old testament is from the talmud, but not everything in the talmud is in the old testament

  • News flash: Menstrual blood ain't filth. You wouldn't be here without it. And it has nothing to do with dung. In fact, menstrual blood is simply a part of the process of life. 1st-century men had a well-documented horror of the birth canal. Keep this in mind when you read this stuff.

  • @drumrnva everyone has a butt hole too, you couldn't live without one, but no one wants to sniff it

  • @clarkdannyclarkdanny Of course not. But Driscoll appears to be supporting the horror that first century men had of women in general and menstruation in particular. We all know that this revulsion is childish and superstitious. We all should be grateful that we have moved on as a people.

  • @clarkdannyclarkdanny Furthermore, if god made woman, HE MADE HER TO MENSTRUATE SO THAT THE HUMAN RACE COULD CONTINUE. There's no pregnancy or birth without menstruation. Nothing wrong with it, nothing filthy about it.

  • @drumrnva this is kind of a stupid argument, but i personally think bloody tampons are pretty gross, but i still love women and childbirth. God made us to crap, doesn't make it beautiful.

  • @clarkdannyclarkdanny Danny: Driscoll is trying to make a case for the exclusive truth of his faith by using an analogy from a dead culture. Nobody really wants us to live like the people in the bible. As I said, we've moved on. Driscoll can crow about his god all he wants. Thank goodness we don't think the way that those people thought back then.

  • Why mormonism or jehovah witnesses they are christians too!

  • @jonnygotz2343 no they're not

  • @jonnygotz2343 They seem the same at first glance, because they talk about Jesus. But if they were Christian, 1st of all, I doubt they'd be broken off into a separate sect and not just another denomination. The difference is how they view Jesus. If you say He was just a prophet or that we will one day be equal with Jesus, (who is a part of the trinity, which would make you part of the trinity), then you aren't worshiping Jesus as He presented Himself to the world, & thus aren't a Christian

  • @lonewolf0017 Jesus wasnt just a prophet he was God, so we worship the same jesus! and the definition of christian is a follower of Jesus Christ and The Lds church does that

  • @lonewolf0017 There is no such word as trinity!, they are three distict personages that work together in one accord

  • @jonnygotz2343 Check out "kingdom of cults" by Walter Martin. It's dense but it's informing.

  • My point with that whole monologue there was that Isaiah is inspired ,and among the Scriptures that Jesus & the Apostles quoted

And to answer your question: to be totally honest, I looked up the Talmud before posting my previous response lol

So i guess I'm going to end this with a question, because I don't want this discussion to take up the comment section: I was under the impression that you were saying that a passage from Isaiah wasn't true

    or am I mistaken?

  • WOW I can't believe this guy just did that. He's Quoting Isaiah 64. ISAIAH 64 IS A PERSONAL PRAYER MADE TO GOD! It not God saying he thinks everything we try to do right is complete shit.

Please read the context of what was said and NEVER take a pastor's word for it!

  • @Owens867 Everything in the Bible is God inspired, therefore it is true, works will not get you to heaven, we can do nothing to account for our sin, our bad will always outweigh our good.

  • @reallycoolman2003 Only god is perfect. you make the fallacious assumption that everything derived from god is also perfect. If that were true that we could not be sinners. God inspires us to do a lot of things, but the way we do them is not perfect. What god says himself takes priority over what a prophet says in his personal PRAYER to god. Please do not imply that our prayers are the word of god.

  • @Owens867 I think reallycoolman is basing his argument on 2 Timothy 3:16-17. yes, this is a personal prayer to God, but if what he were saying weren't true, why would God allow it to be spoken directly to Him without correction, or in the book of a prophet, let alone the Bible itself?

when Isaiah says "all our righteousness is like filthy rags", He's saying we cant do anything of value without God (John 15:5)

you either have to say it's not true, or change the meaning

    so what did Isaiah mean?

  • @lonewolf0017 On timothy, "how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures...Are all God breathed" I agree that the Holy Scriptures that Paul talks about here are the literal word of god. However, Holy Scriptures here isn't the bible because it HADN'T BEEN WRITTEN YET! No, he is must assuredly speaking of the Talmud, as that was what was taught to Jews "from infancy" at that time.

  • @Owens867 They didn't have the full Bible, but they had the Old Testament

in fact, the Apostles and Jesus quoted the OT a lot

The fact that they spoke of them to Jews means that they both considered the OT to be the holy word of God

there's no point in debating using something both sides don't consider factual

So they had the OT, & believed it was authoritative

which means that Isaiah, as part of the Old Testament was in their knowledge & considered Holy Scripture

that's my take on it anyway

  • @lonewolf0017 Did you really not know that the Talmud = OT? The Talmud was later dissected by the catholic church, and was reintroduced as what we know today as the Old Testament.

  • @spencerstott

    Spencer Your Wrong

No man does Good NOT 1

  • @devourerofbabies The difference is that the Bible is the most supported ancient historical document. The apostles and disciples lived as men - only biased history will tell you otherwise - and their testimony was of Jesus Christ, that He claimed to be God, that He claimed to be the only way to salvation for the world, and that He died a sacrificial death on the cross and was ressurected - for our salvation if we believe in Him. They saw these things and made an account of them. I believe that.

  • @JordanRossMackenzie further than that almost all of them died a martyrs death. Had they been lieing to everyone, they wouldn't have followed their testimony to the grave

  • @Trevor1kenobi Yeah exactly. I mean of course we get martyrs for anything these days. But we are talking about first generation (apostles and disciples) second generation (those who knew the apostles and disciples) and further, giving up their lives because they had witness to the resurection or to the testimony of the apostles and disciples.

Not only do I have faith in Christ and God, but I think it is the most logical and accurate representation of history.

    Thanks for the comment

  • doctrine vs. theology...(banner in the back)

  • No, Mark, thinking you're an okay person isn't the pinnacle of arrogance. The pinnacle of arrogance is insisting that your fairytale is unequivocally true and other people's religions are dogshit. THAT is the pinnacle of arrogance. I think you are very arrogant.

  • @jesusislord7713 I'm sorry but that's meaningless. You can be sorry that I've been hurt or wronged etc, but you can't apologize on somebody else's behalf.

  • @jesusislord7713 Umm, no. You can't use logic and reasoning to support anything. And no, I don't need to respect his beliefs if his beliefs are bigoted. I don't respect bigotry.

In b4 you accuse me of being bigoted against bigotry.

  • Comment removed

  • @jesusislord7713 "We live in a fallen world and if a person doesn’t forgive and let Jesus heal them from the inside out the world can’t tell the difference between a believer and an atheist."

That is an article of your dogma. This might be hard for you to understand, but I honestly don't see the difference between the Bible and The Little Mermaid or any other fairytale. Forgiveness etc is wonderful, but that doesn't mean I can't take issue with some of the things this guy is saying.

  • Comment removed

  • @jesusislord7713 Dude, I don't have a problem with Christians. I have a problem with the attitude some Christians have that other people's religions are, in this man's analogy, dogshit. I think that's a harmful attitude. Your speculation that I've been hurt by christians is just that: speculation. Now put your feet up, relax, and have a cup of tea. It's okay.

  • Comment removed

  • @jesusislord7713 That sounds like a good idea. I hope you enjoy your sports or basketball.

  • @devourerofbabies

    Your the DEVOURER OF BABYS

you have NO RIGHT TO JUDGE HIM

    YOUR NAME IS EVIL

    YOU HIPACRITE!

  • @libbyandtai If you want to criticize me, learn to spell first. I don't entertain discussions with retards.

  • Comment removed

  • @jesusislord7713 Okay, dude, relax. I'm not trying to be adversarial. I'm just explaining myself. You're not causing me pain, don't worry about that. I'm not trying to cause you pain either.

  • this guy is hilarious!! preaching continually against people's shortcomings, then saying 'religion is disgusting'! he is the epitome of contradictions in his teachings!! lol

  • nice boy scout uniform . . . where is the belt . . . oh a belt is not big enough

  • religion is retarded lies

  • @onlyguitar1001 Very True. Thank you. And I'm glad you have watched and learned that Christians aren't supposed to be religious, but be saved by grace (not by the deeds and dogma of religion.) I hope also that this will stop the 'Christian' box the world wants to cram us in. There are different levels of understanding and sprituality and it really bites when one person (such as Mark Driscoll) makes the world think every Christian is that way and should be addressed as such. (For good or bad.)

  • THE PROBLEM WITH RELIGION IS THAT IT EXISTS

  • @RayDalziel Jesus would be ashamed of what Christians have done in his name... god is not a Christian a Jew or a Muslim. God cannot be defined by a book. thank god Oprah is able to get to as many people as she can with that message. Its too bad this crap has been hammered into everyones brain since they were a baby.

    Ill pray for you all.

  • @RayDalziel

What would Jesus' problem with Christians be? Other than the hypocrisy that usually pervades them?

  • @GuitarHero2790 What would be Jesus's problem with non-Christians be? Other than their rank hypocrisy and assumption that they are better than Christians?

  • @555pontifex I was saying that speaking as a Christian. (I probably should have clarified that)

But everyone operates in a degree of hypocrisy. Its part of that whole...human...thing...

Also to answer your latter question. The fact they don't love or care about him, of course he would have that problem with 60+% of Christians (In America anyway) (I can't speak for other countries, but the ones I've been to put us to shame)

  • Notice . . . he never quotes Jesus . . . they always quote a man "Paul" who was influenced by his culture. Jesus clearly talks about this subject in Matt 25:31-40 and the requirement of God is not the blood of Jesus . . . it is love . . . yes love everyone . . . thats the requirement of God. The exact thing Oprah is teaching.

  • @enotstehw look at it again my friend. Notice the context of the passage, in v. 31, "When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him…" referring to the Second Coming of Christ when Jesus will gather all believers and cast all nonbelievers to eternity apart from Him.

    V. 46, "And these (nonbelievers) will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous (believers) into eternal life."

How does one become "righteous"? ONLY through faith in Jesus' life, death, & resurrection

  • @brettmyles you need to read it again . The requirement of God for the Sheep . . . is not a believer .. . the requirement is love. The righteous Love. That's the requirement of God is to love all men. No where to you see God asking the sheep about Jesus or the cross. (Mat 25:40) And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

  • @brettmyles It's not he second coming of Christ brett . . . its the end of the time of mankind on earth.

Righteous comes from obeying the voice of God. Jesus said " not everyone that calls me Lord Lord will enter into the Kingdom, but he that does the will of the father. " Here we go again ( death & resurrection) has nothing to do with eternal life. We have to do the will of the father. Death & resurrection has to do with the Jewish fable . . that dead bodies will never return to life.

  • @enotstehw if the requirement of god is not the blood of jesus then why in the world did jesus come here in the first place? but sure, let's just say love is enough. I bet you haven't loved good enough to get into heaven anyway.

  • @kljesperson10 So. . . Jesus made up this event about Sheep and Goats and it is false

  • @enotstehw thats not what the sheep and goats judgment is about its about how those people treated his nation Israel. why? because he knows if you love him you will love his people and nation wich we as gentiles are grafted into.

  • @TheSetokaiba10 So . . . . your God loves only certain people. You sound like a Jew. God loves me more than you. Culture . . . what a way to wast your mind . . . on fables.

  • Im sorry if you follow this false "prophet" interpreting the "word or god" who has a ridiculous wardrobe.. Hes gona burn ... as will I .. but at least I know it.. LOL

  • I LOVE Mark Driscoll.

  • thanks I love your teachings on the scripture. you teach wisely.

  • Who has the son,has the father.Jesus is the way,the life and the truth. No one gets to God the father but through Jesus the lord.

  • @skibuminthesouth Paul was not a disciple, he never learned the teachings of christ, he was mistaken in many of his views of christianity, His letters were included in the king james bible in the 1500's, but they are not the words of Christ or of Christ's disciples. He is as much of a disciple as the pope, & the pope is just a man, not a saviour.

  • @skibuminthesouth Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 Two quotes directly from the letters of Paul, if that is not supporting slavery & subjugating women, then I do not know what is. Have a nice evening.

  • @Nomadxx11B buddy come on. You have to realize that at this point in history, Christianity was restricted to a very, very tiny group of people. Christ taught to obey mans law and at that time, slavery was the law. You have to remember that if these disciples immediately preached against slavery and other cultural norms at the time, they would all have been killed and Christianity stopped in its tracks.

  • @skibuminthesouth Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

  • @Nomadxx11B By that logic then Christianity would support murder, since Christ Himself submitted to being murdered, or even that all sin is supported because Christ submitted in becoming sin.

Paul talked about both the master and the slave being bothers and implying that they should Love each other as such, and Paul sends him(the slave) back to the master as a father sending his son, whom he(Paul) Loves. Can you keep someone you truly Love as a slave? Convicting the heart through submission.

  • When St. Paul talks about "the law" he is talking about the Mosaic law. Not law in general. You can't read the Bible out of context. It's dangerous.

  • Interesting if Jesus is the way, why do preachers keep quoting Paul. Why not quote Jesus instead, and base their sermons on what Jesus taught and not Paul who was not even an Apostle, but claimed to have had a vision of God. Perhaps because Jesus never really founded a religious movement, he was born a Jew, lived his life as a Jew and died as a Jew. Why are Paul's teachings more prominent than the Apostles themselves and the majority of "Christian" teachings are based upon what Paul's writings?

  • @Nomadxx11B There is a difference between someone who is living a Christian life and someone who IS Christ. If you are interested in who Paul was and who Jesus is beyond looking at the surface, I encourage you to take a deeper look at Paul's life and Jesus' earthly ministry as you compare them. A good place to start is to consider who Paul was writing to, the Gentiles, or the "non-Jews", about a God-man he used to persecute...

  • @Guslund Thank you for your reply, but I have already done what you are asking me to do. I was a Christian for 25 years, in those 25 years I was a Missionary in Africa and South America. I attended Seminary and obtained a degree in Theology, read and studied the Old and New Testament in the original languages. I dedicated my life to Christ all those years and yet something always felt wrong as I read the Scriptures. I am not going to go any farther on this, needless to say, I am no longer...

  • @Guslund (continued)...a Christian, I am much happier now than I was before. In my personal view the Bible as it is, it is corrupted. So much emphasis is given to Paul and "his teachings" that I could never find any common ground between Christ teachings and what Paul claimed to be true. So if I were to be asked today, am I a Christian in the truest sense of the word, I would say no. To me the only real words if they are even to be trusted are Christ's words in the four Gospels. Not...

  • @Nomadxx11B Very good perception. Paul was not a disciple and he was not the messiah. Paul killed christians for the Romans, and then one day a mule talked to him and said it was God and that he should follow christ. If one wants to follow christ they should stick to the 4 Gospels of the true disciples, those were the only written recordings of the true teachings of Christ the messiah.

  • @Guslund (continued) what Paul wrote in his many letters. Advocating Slavery, the subjugation of Women. No, those are not Christ's teachings, no matter how you try to justify it. In my point of view Christ was Jewish, and as I said he never founded a Religion or faith, he merely taught us to care and love one another. For that I do not need a title to call myself by, nor confess to another man if I have done any wrong, nor listen to another man because he calls himself a Pastor, Priest, Deacon..

  • @Guslund (continued)...or whatever else he may want to call himself to tell me what the Bible says. No I am not a Christian, I am a human being, plain and simple. What happens to me when is my time to die, will be between my Creator and myself, not between me and Paul, or the many so called men who think they speak for God. I am done with this discussion. Peace and Love to you. Namaste.

  • I just wanted to take the time see if I could help you with a few of your questions. 1) This one is a hard question that hit a lot of different points. I would encourage you take the time and go through some podcast or books of the bible for in-depth details. Marshillchurch website "Religion save" "Doctrine" "The Gospel of Luke" all hit this point is some way, as well as give you some scripture to look through.

    1/4

  • The short answer is that God loves you, just as he loves everyone else. It's not so much that God is condemning people to Hell, it's that God is giving us what we are asking for "An eternal life without Him." We all, Christian's included, our sinner. God loves us, and we choose to spit in the face of God.

    2/4

  • 2) Salivation, the Christian idea of how to get into Heaven, isn't hard. In fact we don't actually do anything. Salivation in through Jesus Christ alone. God does all the work. The idea I think you're going for is "why is being a Christian so hard?" As a Christian you walk against culture, you are called to live and love people that hate your beliefs. 3/4 part 1

  • If you look at scripture (The Gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke or John) we see how rejected Jesus was while he was on earth. The people of that day mocked him, lied against, his home town rejected him, a dear friend betrayed him, the people closes to him denied him, and finally the people that He came to help murdered Him. (Again sorry for the short answer that's a very deep question) 3/4 part 2

  • 3) I don't really know what you are asking in this question. Would you please elaborate.

God Love you, and encourage you to keep an open mind while you research. Please don't judge a loving God by a broken people's action. Christian are pretty big screw ups too, but luckily God is much bigger than us.

    4/4

  • im a pagan and i have a few questions for you christians. 1) the bible says most people would go to Hell, why would a supposed all loving God make all these people just for about 5% of them to be saved while the rest suffer forever? 2) why would God make it so hard to get into heaven in the first place? i mean if he wants to care for us, he could at least help us out more than being born in the right faith. 3) salvation, damnation. equality prejudice. why are mixed signals in the bible?

  • @scott33195

See Answer Above, Sorry So long

  • @jc150183 We'll see below....

  • @jc150183 there are MANY verses in the bible, including teachings of jesus, that say people who are gay, who are prostitutes because they have no other resort is going to Hell. how can God do that to for some who need to support family, or gays whome God made gay? what im asking in my last question is "how come the bible seems to be saying two things? love all, then dont be friends with athiests. children are good, then you can stone your kid.

  • @scott33195

We all our sinner, and all sin is equally bad in the eye's of God. (Christians are still sinners, please don't let them tell you different.) The point of the Gospel isn't that you're a sinner so that means you go to hell. The point is that humans brought sin into the world when they choose to rebel against God, and God through his unconditional love sent is pure and Holy son Jesus to save us. (A big verse for this concept is John 3:16-20)

    Jesus loves you.

  • @scott33195

Ok to be fair I should be specific to your question. There is nothing in the bible that said don't hang out with atheist, gays, or even prostitutes. (There are verse saying you should NOT participate in that lifestyle, but that's a different point) In fact Jesus made it a habit of hanging out with those type of people. Take a look at Mark chapter 2 13-17. Jesus came to save all sinner, (which include regious people as well as atheist)

  • @jc150183 look at 2 corinthians 6:14-15. it says: "14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?" btw belial is a high ranking demon in christian mythology.

  • @scott33195

The general agreement on this verse, between bible scholars, is this verse is telling us as Christian that your closest friends need to Christian. Example being a wife/husband, a best friend, or a mentor. The idea is if you're a Christian and you marry say a Muslin, there is potential for a lot of conflict when it comes to where to go to church, which faith will you raise your kids in, as well as generally living life. Marriage works a lot better when you agree.

  • @jc150183 as far as raising kids in a faith, personally if i had a spouse of a different religion than me, i would expose my kids to different religions. for example, i am pagan, say i marry a catholic. i would let my kid go to mass, and participate in pagan rituals. i wouls also stress them to pick a religion that works best for them.

  • @scott33195 I really don't see that practically working out. It's kind of like a really active republican and a really active democrat that that's married. There is just a lot they disagree on, and when it comes time to vote in Nov both parents are pulling their kid in separate directions.

  • @scott33195 As far as people that would being giving you advice go, you would want those people to be Christian, so the advice they give you will help you draw closer to God. The example in Jesus life would be his 12 disciples. This doesn't change the fact as Christian we still our to engaged world and serve it's people. Christian are called to love the people of the world, and serve its people without being apart the sin in the world. (keeping in mind we are all sinner and not perfect.)

  • 15 While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
