  • Of course all schools teach the same material. It's how well they teach it that makes all the difference.

  • i would get freaking mad listening to that guy. The topic is interesting, but this wanna be einstein is getting on my nervs , grrrr

  • I do not understand the reasoning at about 26:22.

Why is it that path length of a is equal to lambda and therefore destructive interference occurs when the point sources have a path length of a/2?

  • oh get over yourselves. 'in my school....'. No one cares. If you're not here to learn then why are you watching?

  • Its really weird that MIT has a tremendous amount of prestige. I go 2 madison and this is all the same stuff. Im really wondering why there is so much bias for some engineering firms to only hire from certain schools.

  • in Hong Kong, these Phy. things, waves: diffracting grating, acoustic, stationary wave, etc. are taughted in secondary school besides mechanics,E&M,matter., not in university

  • In the USA this is also taught in highschool AP Physics classes. AP classes are like HK's A-Level classes.

AP students are as good, if not better, as any A-Level students.

  • is that high school?

  • @freaky011 its one of the best colleges in the world....

  • @freaky011 can you not tell by the size of the lecture hall, and the layout of this room i.e. the way the seats are arranged and the size of the chalkboard. this is definitely a college setting; (i go to a university so i would know) and it's a respectable college in the world...MIT.

  • in florida, this is taught in elementary school when i was only 3 years old, haha

  • Universe´s "breathing" right now (implodes a little bit, explodes a little bit, then implodes again a little bit and so on). Like a human: it´s first like a child, then develops to a certain degree, grows old and dissociates again. The elements (which can also alter) are reused again.

  • First we have to concentrate on the earth to produce food and products to be able to make assumptions about the outside of the world. It´s egocentric to pretend that this situation´s globally already a status quo - and it tells how blind Mr. Lewin is about the situation on earth - or he just bluffs it, because he profits from his pretending.

  • 1pc = 30,856 ∙ 1E+15 m. The reason why they use nonSI-units is that they want to make the topic seem more mystical and therefore more valuable than it is.

  • soo this physics in for collage , right ? lol am in high school , i dont get the Vector resolution !!! i've got a quiz tomorrow ! and i dont get this lesson O.O i dunno what to dooo HELP !!! btw this guy is a genius ! WOOOW go physics dude go ;) !! i wish i was as smart as he is

  • Information is power and I can't believe that I can sit in my basement and watch a lecture from MIT. I will be studying hard. Optics is one of my favorite studies in physics. Very nice. Thank you MIT open courseware. This is what the world needs more of.

  • yes, correct.

  • I agree.
