I can wonder about the origin and the history of a musical movement because I have spent countless hours with Reece's album in my headphones, and I have spent time on the dance floor at DnB parties. You think DnB is an "experience", but really, it is music. It can be talked about with people, as a culture. Thinking anyone is trying to "outknowledge" you is just weird.

Everything back then seemed ready for DnB to be the new indie as far as creativity and money was involved. And then Saturnz return came out and it was fucked. Too bad.

@mantra3000 don't agree. saturnz return was an attempt to make the obvious drum'n'bass template into something new, something multifunctional. the main reason for d'n'b downfall was its limited form. as with every avant garde dance genre it's got its beginning, the evolution phase and the end (supposedly around 2000). then dubstep came and nowadays the situation repeats - dubstep got its peak in 2006-2008, now it's deaf and self repeating. so long live the old school.:)

@tomidlak But Goldie's music was the ambassador of DnB to the general public. Timeless, an excellent record, got the public eye attention. Saturnz return was ambitious, I agree, but so much so it was hardly a proper record. I think that's what made the interest fade so quickly. It would have lasted longer with a better album, more money would have been involved, new people signed. But in the end, every trade is replaced by another, and that is cool.
