Leeds has a completely different vibe from the festivals I normally attend. So much aggression was in the air, it wasn't about getting together and be happy while listening to some sweet tunes. By Sunday, it was all about anarchy and destruction. Stayed for the bonfire after the Chilies for a bit, was working for Oxfam that year and so was glad I wasn't on shift that night! Kind of got sick of the mindlessness so headed back to the Oxfam site, was around the wall when the explosion went off.

Fiar play on fires to keep warm but that ones a bit dodgy! Doesnt take much to get fucked up real bad from stuff flying out of it. I take it thats why they stared giving out beer tokens on returned cups, it was much better when you could use the 1000s of paper cups to make a fire instead of having to use plastic and chairs!

i was there i think we counted 28 bins that went into that along with fire extinguishers chairs cardboard n anything people cud get there hands on. i also went this year didnt see anything to the same degree. i think security was much improved this year. 3 of my friends were evicted lol. they said that they were taken to an eviction tent n saw some of the cameras they are meant 2 be everywhere apparently. think the days of stupidity at festivals may be coming to a end

wow first of all i created many fires myself n probably had just as much or more of a laff than u. i was just saying that security was much improved and that cameras are everywhere so be careful otherwise u will be evicted and that could ruin ure weekend like 1 of my friends. the other 2 managed to get back in :)

I was at leeds in the yellow field and got woken up at 6 in the mornin on monday by some fellas tent near us had just been caught in an explosion and caught fire. You have such a great time at leeds and then people decide to fuck up and start crazy riots and be stupid!

from what i understand the fire service had difficulty reaching it. but on the bright side events weren't as bad as expected. that was a ridculous fire tho, the fire service went to it over 5 times tru the night i believe x

It lasted well over an hour, surely they cud hav controlled the situation within a much shorter time had they took more precautions.

i would much rather that fires like that happened in the arena than in the campsites. the explosion went off and everybody had the space to move backwards - if that had been in a campsite there would have been no-where for them to move to without falling over tents.

i dont agree you should expect it though - people are capable of behaving like adults, they just believe at leeds they have a license not to.
