  • great job. Thanks a lot. I am linux newbee and this video realy helped me.

  • thanks for this video man... it saved me and my dignity... I've been messing around with fedora... and this video really helped me find HOW TO INSTALL stuff.... thanks a lot...

  • fedora 13 works great as a live cd, but as a live cd, it wont engage my printer, it detect my DSL internet by it self, that was cool and the radio internet worked

  • I have Fedora since today!

Trying to download open office now! Thnx in advance (guess this will work :D:D)

    THNX!

  • is fadora better then ubuntu? i dont like the terminal

  • cheers 5 stars

  • thanks. im new to linux (started today), and i installed OO without a problem.

  • Hi, I would like to confirm that OO comes with the Fedora 11 DVD. I just installed Fedora 11 yesterday and OO in there. During the installation, Fedora 11 asks if you would like to install office tools or something like that. The check box was marked by default and I left it marked. If you uncheck that box, maybe OO is not installed. I love your videos...thanks.

  • i know open office comes with the DVD, but not the CD.

    thank you for watching =]

  • I like Abiword for word processing and Kile(obviously for KDE) for (La)TeX. You should try them as I find both very good.

  • i have used abiword but not Kile.

  • Yeah. DVD's are the way to go.

  • It does come with Fedora!

Well did you use the live cd?

    It comes on the DVD.

  • oh really?

    yes i did =[

is there anything i am missing out that was on the DVD?

  • Well, not really. Contains a bunch of diff. languages and extra software like Open Office. But anything that's on the DVD can be downloaded from the repositories.

I usually download the DVD because it feels more stable. There were more people reporting errors about F11 when using the liveCD than the DVD install.

I also like the option the customize everything that gets installed like choosing desktop environment and the different software that will go with the install.

  • yeah, you see i have fedora 10 on DVD

i found the Live CD for Fedora 11 to be a pain in the ass.

i am going to for sure start using DVD's Now For Installing Linux Distro's.
