I just found this card in a box with a broken fan and a bad bios flash. I replaced the cooler with an old Accelero S2 and flashed an overclocked bios on it. It's actually not a bad card, it can play some fairly recent games at low/medium settings.

@ballinboi3546 Shader Model 3.0 and Direct X 9 was one of the biggest and most successful advancement in computer technology after Direct X 8. The quality was really noticeable, unlike Direct X 10, 10.1, and 11. You cannot tell the difference between them and 9 since 10 and 11 barely had any time and effort put into it. And also, DX9 had a 5 year lifespan compared to DX10 which only had a 2 year lifespan before DX11 was released. That's how good DX9 was with its Shader Model 3.0.
@vangstaz im aware of that im speaking of how much of a scarcity of it you see now. its still the definite standard for games that run DX9 but, at the moment it seems as though it is reaching the end of its road. as long as its still available to be chosen i think its still got a good year ahead of itself. a majority of games that came out around mid last year still do but most "Recommend" shader 4.0. BTW do you know what happened to logan not to get off the conversation but just sayin...
some people here dont get that there are people out there that are on a very tight budget. not everyone has intel whore iSuck systems and 12GB of ram, and 4 GPU's.

This card is 5 generations behind retards. It plays 2006 games great, and even newer ones with lowered graphics detail. It was a great budget card for it's time.

Works Great. Just download the drivers for the 8 series then uninstall your current card. Shut down your computer, swap cards, then boot up and install the new drivers. Pretty good card. I can play COD5 on 1680x1050 res with all setting on high with no lag what so ever. My only compliant is that it runs pretty hot but my case sucks so that plays a huge role in the hight temp.

No dude! no!! TRUST ME get a inno 3d 9600 GSO.... ALWays choose a gpu with big FAN.... my old gpu which had a small fan got clogged with dust and unreplacable..... but the fan in inno 3d is replacable...... if not inno3d... choose another manufacturer always remember big gpu FAN...

Works Great. Just download the drivers for the 8 series then uninstall your current card. Shut down your computer, swap cards, then boot up and install the new drivers. Pretty good card. I can play COD5 on 1680x1050 res with all setting on high with no lag what so ever. My only compliant is that it runs pretty hot but my case sucks so that plays a huge role in the hight temp.

I would but 3 problems:
1) It's not my computer, my mum doesn't trust that i can do it but i love working with computers
2) Fujitsu Siemens soldered some LED's at the front of the computer to a molex connection on my Power supply but i thought about it and i thought that i should just put a Blue LED 80 Mm fan (It's a Scaleo P Original )
3) My mum won't buy one but i've thought of getting this power supply:
CoolerMaster eXtreme Power Plus RS-460-PCAP-A3
It's a 460 Watt Power Supply :)

@pixo45 Dude, still way overpriced for a just a rebadged 8800 GT. I got a 1 GB GTS 250 for less than $100. Though GTS 250 is just a rebadged 9800 GTX+, it's a little better considering price for performance.
