  • my favorite is between castlevania 1 and super castlevania 4

  • Uhg cmon, CV64 is awful.

My vote is with either Rondo of Blood or Bloodlines. Bloodlines is underrated as hell, it's a crazy awesome frenetic action game superficially dressed up like a Castlevania game. To me, both of these games are superior to SC4.

I just don't like the physics in SC4. You don't feel like you have any weight of momentum. You just kinda float along at the exact same speed at all times, jumping or otherwise. the jump arcs don't even feel like arcs, they are jump triangles.

  • Hey Clement did you ever play Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness?

  • Great Castlevania

  • @Clementj642 this game is on virtural console

  • PLEASE do Castlevania 64! Everyone hates on it but I loved it. It was really different. Great LP, this is also probably my top 3 Castlevania games.

  • My favorite game in the series is rondo of blood.Just Fucking awesome.

  • I don't think Simon's Quest is a bad game. The game just needs to be remade to fix the bad parts about it. Simon's Quest does have some of the best video game music in my opinion. Nothing tops Bloody Tears

  • Lungy Mclungefucker. I like it.

  • Julius Belmont was at the series' peak in Aria of Sorrow, possessing ALL of Simon's perks in SCV4, a dodge ability and Richter's super jump. He was toned down in DoS, possibly to balance out gameplay between Yoko and Alucard.

Also, rest assured that SCV4 is on the Wii's Virtual Console. It would be a crime if they didn't. :p

    Favorite Belmont: Sonia Belmont (Legends)

Favorite CV game: Dracula X duology

    Hardest CV game: CV Bloodlines

    Favorite Dracula: Order of Ecclesia

  • Will your next lp be sonic advance or another castlevania game?

  • Are you gonna do your Shadow the Hedgehog LP soon?

  • Dracula: What is a man?! A miserable little jerk with a whi--

Dr. Eggman: Woah, woah, WOAH!! What in the Hell do you think you're doing?!

Dracula: I'm just getting a last wor--

Dr. Eggman: I'll tell you what you're doing! You're stealing my gimmick!! Well, get a load of THIS!! Robots!! ATTACK!!!

Dracula: Wha-- AAAAAAHHHHHHHRRRRRGGGG!!! *owned by Eggman's robots*

Dr. Eggman: Now you know why I am the best!

  • I'm noticing a lack of whip consistency between gameplay and the ending credits

  • I am one of those sick folks who loves Castlevania II :) Mostly because when I was a kid me and my friends would obsess over it day and night trying to beat it. We finally did beat it, and we never had to look at any magazines or books. Just good ol' trial and error. Looking back on it, it certainly is flawed, but you have to give credit to the designers for trying to do something innovative (paving the way for Symphony of the Night).

  • hey clement, is there a possibility you can do a crash twinsanity LP?

  • the iron whip was a cheat or something?

  • hey clement try metroid!

  • @raidenpz They are showing Simon using the default whip ( leather whip, no powerups added to it) that you start out with at the beginning of the game or when you lose a life.

  • Yes this game is on the wii VC.

Castlevania 3 was the frist game I ever played in the series. It's hard as hell but it's still fun. The music is good in that game too.

I really want to play Rondo of Blood I have all the DS Castlevania games except for order of Ecclesia I've got lament of innocence even though I can't play it right now and I want to play lords of shadow. I just love the whole Idea of going through a castle to kill Dracula and fighting all those mythic monsters as you go.

  • @ryan489 If you have a PSP, there is Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles. The game itself is an updated Rondo of Blood. You can also unlock the original Rondo of Blood as well as Symphony of the Night.

  • I actually prefer the metriodvania games over the older ones except for Super Castlevania VI. That whipping in one direction and the knockback I couldn't stand. I could look past the knockback in this game cause if a madusa head was coming slightly lower than a regular whip I could just whip downward. But this one is my favorite Castlevania if nothing else but for the nostalgia. Played the hell out of this game when it first came out, and I was hooked right when I saw the intro!

  • Can you do Castlevania Order of Ecclesia?

  • I actually like Castlevania 2 Simon's Quest, I like it because it was the first one I ever played, but I will agree with you Clement, Super Castlevania 4 is the shizznizzlebangsnap!

  • I now perfectly understand your opinion about Metroid and the metroid-vania Castlevania games.

    Anyway, whats next?

  • Castlevania 64 please.

  • @ShirgoAshida Don't do it, Clement. It's terrible.

  • @Wowman239 The game has a large problem with a certain wall you need to blow up.

  • also he doesn't get out instintalisly. he gets out normaly and then destroys it.

  • 6:20 epic pic. its like your resting on his coffin after a long tough battle.awsome.

  • Castlevania II: Simon's Quest is actually my favourite, or second-favourite Castlevania game (behind Order of Ecclesia)... I seem to be the only one who holds that opinion, though.

  • I haven't play any Castlevania games but because of your LP's, i'll deffinatly get around to it sometime. I'll most likely try out Super Castlevania 4 first because you said its better than the first 3 due to better controls and whipping in all 8 directions.

    Awesome LP Clement! =)

  • My favourite: a tie between 4 and symphony

  • TBH, I'm kinda new to the series. I started out by trying out Symphony of the Night, didn't progress much at all. Years later my brother in law let me borrow Lords of Shadow, and I found myself liking it a lot. I mean, yeah it's a Metroidmania type game, but Gabriel has some pretty kickarse moments.

Which makes me curious, what do you think of Lords of Shadow, Clement?

  • Why in the end credits sometimes his whip becomes orange?

  • Ok good now. PLAY SONIC

  • Great LP Clement! Entertaining as most always. You didn't like Castlevania 2, though!? What about that one time where you had to crouch by the one cliff until something you needed fell from the sky!? That was awesome! I actually did like 2 when it came out, but i was in jr. high school and me and my friend had a marathon slumber party until we cleared it, I played it again recently and 'ouch' that is one serious mind thug. Castlevania 3 is and always will be my fave!

  • I love the castlevaina games, I watched all of your lps there epic and so are you!

  • My Favorite Castlevania game is Circle of the Moon for GBA , its probably on of the hardest too.

  • I hate you Clement because you prefer the older Castlevania games and now we shall fight for 100 years. You have to use a whip and I will use a large, floppy dildo.

    Battle on!

Nah but srs, keep up the awesome let's plays.

  • its not nostalgia for me cuz i played them all the same year and 4 is the best

  • Clement have you played the remake of rondo of blood on psp known as Castlvania the dracula x chronicles witch includes the original version and symphony of the night.

And BTW my favorite castlevania games is rondo of blood and super castlevania 4

  • @shadicmester He mentions it a few times in this playthrough and symphony of the night.

  • i like all castelvania game but the stuff i don't like is in 64 ther's no music seriously guys!

  • My favorite vania game is the first one.

  • Well Julius belmont is a DLC in Harmony of despair only on Xbox 360. When I got the game on my Ps3 he was playable from the get go.

  • Dude play Lament of Innocence that game was a masterpiece.

  • My favorite vania will always be Simon's Quest. And for those of you who hate it solely because of the AVGN, play the game.

  • I love the Castlevania series. Out of the classic ones, three is my favorite, for one huge reason; I do NOT like the whip. Seriously, I hate it. While I do appreciate the range of it, I don't appreciate the delay both before and after the swing. I like to hit the attack button and BAM, enemy hit instantly.

As for the Metroidvanias...I love exploration in video games, and I love collecting crap. Every enemy has a soul to collect? Love it. Enemy has two drops in the bestiary? Gotta get 'em both.

  • My favorite classic Castlevania would be Rondo of Blood, and my favorite Metroidvania would probably be Aria of Sorrow, I love both styles to death, I only got into the series surprisingly 2 years or so ago.. ._. I missed out for the loooongest time

  • I'm surprise there is no second form. Good thing too because the first form looks hard

  • contrary to you Clement, I prefer the Metroidvania types better than the stage-based ones. when I was younger, it was mostly because they were easier in general and not ball-breakingly difficult for a 5 year old (granted the only one back then was simon's quest...despite all the hate i like it) though now it's more for the ease of movement, the various abilities, and, well, the exploration. granted, it's arguable that that is what takes away the "castlevania feel" but to me they're just as good.

  • This Is the Best Castlevania Game Ever ! Hand's Down . . . can you Lp River City Ransom ?

  • Yeah, this is pretty much the definitive Castlevania.

  • this one was the first one in the castlevania series i also played, though i find it sad there was now werewolf boss :(

  • No second form for Dracula? And it's supposed to be the best Castlevania?

  • "I am not gonna LP an entire series again, I learned that lesson from Sonic the Hedgehog", so does that mean you have grown tired of LP'ing that series and that we won't see more of it?

  • @Mudstoise Two words: MegaMan X6.

  • Simon: *before landing the final blow on Draculat* DIE MONSTER, YOU DON'T BELONG IN THIS WORLD!!!

  • Am I seeing things or is the whip different in the credits?

  • @Jer2d That's how the whip first looks when you don't pick up any upgrades.

  • @MarzX1802 Yes that is the Vampire Killer Leon acquires in LOI.

  • So what was the point of inputting your name?

  • This is one of my favorite games as well and I own it for the Wii's virtual consale and I also played this as a kid and all I can say about this game is f..k you stage b 2 I mean seriously every time I rented the game as a kid I got stuck there.

  • During the credits, if you mash the controller while the computer is playing you can mess up the animations. Love doing that.

  • WTF? Deah beats the shit out of me more than Slogra

  • Castlevania 4 is by far the best IMO.

  • Favorite castlevaina game. PC engine rondo of Blood hands down no question. the game was very deceptivly simple. you could just roll to dracula or you could dig deeper you could find a whole entire hidden route of stages. 2 different characters to play as and the sound track. God awsome.

  • Thanks for this journey, I enjoyed it a lot. I love this game.

  • 5:23 The moment Dracula realized he was screwed.

  • Yep I got it on the virtual console! :D

  • And like all GOOD VAMPIRES Dracula turns to dust and experiences final death when sunlight hits him.

  • This is honestly one of the best games of all time. I've been buying and playing A LOT of retro games this year. I started with Symphony of the Night, and I loved it, but when I got a super nintendo, this game just... It's so good I can't even describe how much I love it. I've played through the whole game like four times, fought the final bosses countless times, and ironically, I think Gaibon is the hardest boss.

  • @ThePwnybrony32

Slogra has a set pattern and I always do more damage to him before he can do enough to me, but Gaibon is way too erratic. He shoots projectiles, he flies where you can't hit him easily, he drops a pretty much unavoidable attack from the ceiling. Slogra gave me trouble, but Gaibon probably took me more than an hour to beat. My fingers had never hurt SO MUCH till I fought him.

  • Super Castlevania 4 is one of my favorite games in the series. Everything about the game is awesome from the music, graphics, challenge, and even the replay value. In fact, every Halloween night, I play through this game as a tradition, it fits the mood very well for that time of year. Looking forward to the next LP Clement!

  • @SilverLugia249 ha ha ha awsome im the same when it comes to castlvaina i always play it the week of halloween.

  • lawl, 69 likes....

  • I've never played the classic Castlevania games. My first one was SotN. My favorite, though, is Order of Ecclesia. Beautiful environments, beautiful soundtrack, great abilities given from the glyphs, the quests from the villagers are pretty cool, and the characters and storyline are actually interesting (which seems to be a rare quality in Castlevania games).

  • isnt this the first game in the series not to have Dracula's 2nt form?

  • @yuyuhakushox No.

In Castlevania 2, he only had one form.

  • castlevania 4 is on the wiiware

  • for some reason, i was expecting a dracula doll at the end of the video to say son of a bitch

  • What about ... Castlevania:Curse of Darkness?

  • Ginger Dracula

  • i've seen castlevania 1-3 before this :D

  • I'm almost definitely in the minority, but I LOVED Castlevania II and have been waiting impatiently for another with the same sort of gameplay (open-ended gameplay of sorts and seems like an actual adventure)

  • I will admit this is the first castlevainia game I have seen. I personally like this one now. #4

  • I do wonder what was going on in Simon Belmont's mind to impulse him to jump into that seemingly bottomless pit. I doubt very much that he knew beforehand the hidden stairway trick.

  • The Dracula battle music is outstanding.

  • My favorite Castlevania game...Probably Portrait of Ruin. Probably one of the only Metroidvania style games where you play like a Belmont even though the main character was part of the Morris clan. Only problem I have with the game is that playing at the chick isn't as fun.

  • Wait isn't Castlevania 64 impossible to beat because you can't carry drop the mandragora and nitro?

  • @ProGamerWeekly Were watching the AVGN review? Because in that he just made a mistake, you're supposed to do it in a certain way, it's not impossible.

  • @MarzX1802 may I ask what that method is?

  • @ProGamerWeekly Here's a video showing you how to place them down: /watch?v=leJojIIOTIg

If you still don't get it, look it up yourself.

  • @ProGamerWeekly you got that from avgn's review. it is possible to beat it

  • clement u need to do more drunk videos <3

  • dracula should have said what is a man in all this 16 bit glory

  • My favorite Castlevania game(and my only one.....) is Dawn of Sorrow for the DS because it's so epic that you can get the souls of your enemies(The valkiria soul it's actually disturbing) and the fact that you can upgrade your weapons with the souls you have and the fact that you're kinda Dracula during the gameplay(You are Soma who is the recarnation of Dracula)

Tell me, what do you think about this game(if you haven't played it look it in youtube)

  • @clementj642 - Your observations on the function of the Belmonts of prior games is very interesting Clement; you see,the magic of the older games comes from the player inserting himself in a faceless character like the Belmonts once were:in the first three games, the focus is on making control the attrition of the mechanics and adapting to how you are,in essence, frail and weak when compared with dracula. IV,on the other hand,is all about giving you power, making you the entire flow of the game.

  • I love how you can tell which commenters are Sonic "fans" (9-12 year olds) by the way they type. Anyhoo, great LP, Clement.

  • Great LP, Clement. I was actually going to ask if you were going to do the Castlevania series but it seems you answered that in this video. I'm kind of hoping you will do some other Castlevania games.

  • do one of the jet set raido games if own one of them :D

  • @Darkspriter4 he cant he does not have a dreamcast

  • @commodore64fan there was also one for the xbox that will also work on the 360

  • @Darkspriter4 oh ok i was not aware it would be cool for him to do it i used to love that game and shenmue as well

  • maybe you should lp a pokemon game clement. It sure would be something differant

  • Have you done a Rondo of Blood playthrough yet? That I would love to see you tackle all the stages.

    Also Castlevania 64/Legacy of Darkness.

  • please tell me next is sonic advance

  • Do you like the second Castlevania 64?

  • LP more Castlevania games!!!

  • Heres my vote to see you LP Castlevania 64 in the future. I'm curious to hear your commentary on it. I'd also like to see you do Castlevania 64 Legacy of Darkness, and I'd be happy to lend you my cart to LP that one.

  • Clement you killed Ritchter THATS why we think you had Symphony of the Night you coulda atleast been like "Oh this is the bad ending blahblahblah" YOU KILLED THE HOMEY RITCHTER CLEMENT -_-

  • the circle of the moon dracula was a fucking nightmare

  • I always love it when games have a final boss and it suddenly plays a kickass theme when you've almost won. So awesome! I wish more games would do this, personally.

  • do a lp of lords of shadow

  • Well, he'll come back in 100 years...assuming someone doesn't try to pull one of those unnatural resurrections on him.

  • Even tough I only played this game recently, it's already my favorite in the series. This is Castlevania at its best.

  • I'd have to say the two Castlevania games I love the most are Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Castlevania III because it was the first one I played and Symphony of the Night because it's the only one I've beaten.

  • Just for curiosity, have you ever played Castlevania: Curse Of Darkness?

  • This was one of your best LP's ever.

  • Yes, it is on the Virtual Console - released way back in 2006 there. Hmm... maybe I should get this if I get the opportunity.

  • That was a great LP! I never passed it up when it was in my sub box

  • thumbs up if u think clement should do castlevania 3 next, which is btw my favorite castlevania game, il never forget that game, it was the only comfort i had when i thought i was gonna lose my job, that game and its music got me thought that time

  • @xtreme189 doesnt matter really. if he doesnt like the game it will interfere with his commentary and the lp would be crappy.

  • I think he should finish the SOTN LP... he always says he'll do what his fans want!

  • you should play all the traditional castlevania games(1, 2, 3, Rondo of Blood/Dracula X, Bloodlines, etc.)...and maybe the N64 ones :D

  • My favorite is Harmony of Despair. It would be cool if you LP it with friends.

  • I loved castlevania since the first time I noticed that my cousin had a non-mario game on NES. I am now a proud owner of most of the 2d metroidvania games, only excluding Symphony of the night and Harmony of despair. I have completed them both though. I might also be the only person in history that thinks SotN is the worst in the Metroidvania styles... It's just too easy.

  • clement beat super castlevania 4 with a total score of 158720. Can @SomecallmeJohnny beat that lol. Great LP of my favorite game Clement

  • 11:36, simon's about to take a scythe to the knee xP.

But how can you hate aria it's the most customizable game in the series arguably o.O

  • I love your playthroughs. Keep up the good work.

  • The fight against Dracula is so epic once it changes into Simon's theme. In my opinion this is one of the best Dracula fight in the Castlevania series.

  • Never played this game before so it was great to see the whole thing and to see the variety in boss fights. Thanks for showing this to the public, Clement. Love your LP's, looking forward to the next one :)

  • Death likes come give hug

  • Want to go online with Wii? get a Wired network adapter, much more reliable than Wireless!

  • Dracula looks like ganondorf off of zelda

  • I wish they would bring back this linear style of castlevania back. What they have now is ok but mix it up a little. I love this game just because you get to be a bad ass with a whip.

  • "Aloha everyone, it is I, the Great Clement, and welcome back to 'Let's Play Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest'. I hate this game." :P

  • I'm with you I guess I'm just a traditionalist. I always preferred this and Rondo of Blood and Castlevania III. At least those are the ones I have the most experience with.

  • Awesome lp!

  • Take Dracula out once and for all? You're kidding, right?

  • pretty cool lp, this castlevania is one of my favorites

  • Wow. Never thought it was possible. I just missed the like button.

  • Awesome :) Kinda sorry that I haven't been keeping up on this I really enjoy castlevania just Idk not feeling this one. Good Job clement
