These are awesome for recording. I'll probably always have mine.
I actually use it for bass recording sometimes (irony?). To get those old-timey sounds like early McCartney Beatle-bass.
Other than that, I use a condenser and do low volume guitar tracks with it. A little compresion and sometimes an overdrive like a Tubescreamer and you cant lose.
