I was born in Stephenville on Harmon USAFB in 1951, then we moved to St. Johns where my Sister was born in 1956. I loved the Rock and the people were great. I will be riding my harley around the Island next summer. I remember fishing for Cod at The Gut !! Oh Yeah, I love the song Brother. I toured with Johnny Winter & Edgar Winter in the early 70's, TIN HOUSE is the name of my band. We're on YouTube.

Coming from St. John's and having walked that entire trail; I applaud him for showing a refreshing perspective on the downtown visual. So what, if McDonald Drive or Avalon Mall is not shown, it's understood that's not the entire city. As for bay vs townie, enough! This gentleman visited St. John's and he's sharing his experiences. Nice video but it would be better that when people make these videos on St.John's or take pictures to also include the more "modern" parts of the city. I know plenty of people here on the mainland that think all us newfies live in old houses built on the sides of cliffs or think St.John's consists only of the old downtown and old row houses. When promoting St.John's, or any other part of Nfld, to show the modern neighborhoods and new homes etc etc...and we have malls.

I think you'll find most townies respect the bay, but if you're not from there and it's not what you're used to, then why love it? Plus who said so, why did you feel the need to say that. It's hard watching this. Over a 8-9 month span of time, I flew back and forth visiting my then partner. I try to smile, but it's difficult since I really accomplished alot of much needed self-searching.I guess I just wished it worked out better, but that's not to say we didn't love each other. I wished him well, and I am happy for him, but every day I'd walk 2 hours to signal hill back and forth. I'm glad the partner I have now is willing to charter our boat someday towards St.Johns.
