  • Ok, I've got a dumb one. If I eat 1600 cals a day, how many cals do I need to burn if my goal is to lose two pounds a week? Any help would be appreciated. Great video by the way.

  • @thebaby2436 In order to lose two pounds a week, you need to burn 7000 more calories than you consume. That means every day you need to burn 1000 more calories than you consume.

    So if you're consuming 1600 calories a day, you need to burn 2600 calories.

    It's really not that hard. When I was preparing to enlist with the military, I was losing ten pounds a week just by eating right and running ten miles a day.

    the daylight diet is the best.

    i discovered it before i knew about paul nison. nison is very good and gives ok advises. i'm not sure about his whole raw diet...

    i love meat and you got have meat and proteins.

    also eat legumes everyday . it makes you go to the bathroom regularly...

  • Glad someone layed this out simply. One thing I would add is one way to set oneself up for life is to calculate how many calories you need in your life IF you were already your ideal weight. That basically starves the extra fat while fufilling the lean you. Not calculate in the calories burned from exercise and a metabolic change from that exercise and you can burn it a lot faster. Same info different way of saying it I suppose

  • @b9s2me Not really. 3500 calories makes a pound so 500x7 (7 days a week) = 3500. You'd only be burning around 1 pound a week. Double the amount of time you do your excersize. Then you'll burn about two pounds a week =)

  • Try raw food fasting once a week. Just by doing that I am 20 pounds lighter than December. A few days a week, eat only fruits and veggies, and on the other days, just eat smaller portions.

  • im 5'6" and 305 lbs i think its hopeless for me now i lost 65lbs within 6 months and kept it off a little over a year but now nomatter how much i try i lose and gain it back so im always stuck at 300 any tips i definately dont want to go back to 369

  • go run! i was really fat in middle school, and they made me run like 3 miles every week, i lost fat weight, and gained muscle weight.. dont give up. we got ourselves the way we are, we can surely get ourselves out.

  • findout how much your bodys BMR then add the 500-600 . This will be your total burned

    eg 2800+500=3300

    so then you put your 2000 that you got from food and you subtract 3300-2000=1300

    so your body is burning 1300 more then what you are eating

    then times 1300 by 7 , the 7 is days in the week , the total is 9100

    1 pound = 3500 cals so 9100 cals divided into 3500 gives you 2.6 lbs a week

    but you should not eat less then 1500 cals a day

    hope it helps i know its a mess lol ;)

  • true but riding a bike at 20 kms per hour in 1 hour you will burn 1000 i do it almost eveyday.

  • i dont get it, how can burn 1000 calories when your consuming more then what he sais, if i eat 1500 to 2000 calories a day and im only burning 1000 calories a day, how does weightloss occur, how can you burn more then you take in??? i dont get it.

  • the key is to burn MORE calorie than you eat; maybe you misunderstood. Eat 2000 at day, and burn 2500--net loss of 500 cal per day x 7 days =

    3500, which = one pound.

  • another tip: try standing more often, simply standing burns twice as many calories as sitting does, as it activates the breakdown of lipase in muscle mass. It makes sense, if you think of the energy it takes to hold a 175lb. person upright, as opposed to resting in a chair and using nothing.

    24 times 60 equals 1400 so shouldnt u eat that manythen u will lose all those calories? thats what my sister said...
