I'm just glad Smith is playing at full potential. Everyone can eat thier words now, nobody wanted Alex around after last year. Yea, of course he doesn't have the skill set of Montana and Young, but he's shown he has just as much heart and passion as them.

@TheKenTerry actually his skill set is not bad, he does have an arm and although not very mobile compared to either legends he is still quite agile for a QB. Putting those skills to good use however is the question..because he struggles w/ accuracy.

You can't compare Smtih with Rogers. Rogers backup yesterday broke a franchise record. It's partly the system Rogers is in along with a great supporting cast. Smith has never had the WR's Rogers has had.

I remember seeing a video here a while ago where someone blasted Alex and put the words "F@**ot" on the back of his jersey. Broke my heart that a supposed "niner fan" did that.
He's not a Montana or a Young. But he'll make a name for himself someday in SF. This kid has true grit. So happy for him!

He may not be the answer for a superbowl, but I love him more than any 49er quarterbacks that won a superbowl. He got that never give up fight in him. One of the toughest quarterback in the league.

This video perfectly sums up Smith's roller-coaster career. Guy is tough as nails and never quits. Just shows you how under-valued good coaching is in our league. Just imagine if SMith had Harbaugh as a coach when he was drafted.

at the start of the season i said idc how bombarded i get with haters im buying a alex smith jersey. because just like him i started playing qb my senior year n was in a shadow of two past great qbs. but i worked my ass off. while others went to party id always be throwing. n i had the best season out of both the past qbs. fight on alex i know u can be great.

The thing about Alex Smith...he does such a remarkable job at keeping his focus in the right place that pressure doesn't really bother him. That's why he can make clutch plays like the one he did against the Lions. He doesn't care what people think of him. The only thing he cares about is doing what is necessary to win the game. Alex Smith is VERY intelligent, probably one of the smartest quarterbacks in the league. He almost never forces a pass,I'm very happy for him.

Wasn't a big A.Smith fan but this guy has put up with a lot of criticism and now that us 49er fans got a coach that knows how to win and coach talent I think A.Smith can be a great asset to the 49ers organization. Leadership isn't just built off success, but the tough times. He's gone through the bad now its his time for the good.

Jim harbaugh is class! Only a good coach can see that most of us fans wouldn't , I believe in this team 49ers has always been my team even through those horrible years and taunts I still stuck with my team, n btw he kinda reminds me of Montana sometimes, like if your blood is not only red but also GOLD!
