this looks like someone wanted a top bar but decided to go with a frame system. why have the top bar slats and then put frames under them. odd.

just out of curiosity, since you have a frame oriented hive, why not use foundationless frames instead of replacing the foundation frames with empty top bars?

Wow I have never seen a setup like this.  Looks to be easier with all the frames at waist high...saves the back. The only question I have is how do you expand? What are the total number of frames you can use and do you know how much honey (in lbs) it could hold?
