We have a few things in common. I am a kung fu practitioner who gained a ton of weight and went vegan as well. I had a hernia and got an office job resulting in my going from 235 to 302lbs (6'2"). I specifically went vegan so I could do kung fu again. Now I am down to 265 and losing 2lbs/wk. If you want to lose, be as raw as possible, low fat, and do 20 min cardio and circuit weight training alternating days 1hr cardio and abs. That is working for me.
Hmm...odd, I'm a little bit late on this, but it would of been better if someone became vegetarian first, then vegan, and finally raw vegan. Also I lost a lot of weight when I was a raw vegan for 1 month or more.

.... it's called a vegan diet.
He didn't say lifestyle. He said diet.
They're different.

Yeah, keep away from any grains. Since I eliminate grains from my low carb diet, I feel great, eventhough I don`t have celiac disease.
