Before the Lord I was absolutely destroyed for lack of knowledge and God has given to me those things that I didnt have. Well...it depends on what you mean by "prophet." Prophets are not necessarily future-tellers. One of their primary functions is to bring God's word to bear on the lives of the people in a clear and powerful way.
I believe that the Bible is clear enough for a sincere seeker to discern what is necessary to believe in Christ and receive eternal life. However God gives different levels of discernment to all of us and we have to be responsible with what we have. What's your take on this?

@Darrielm Actually you didnt list any of the biblical requirements. Why dont you try posting the chapter and verse markings from the bible to atleast show you are basing your opinion on what God says and not on what your belly says, or is your belly your god.
