I think the street level is on level 2, and that's why the star is on 2.
Yeah at my Kmart, the street level is 2, so I guess you're underground when you go down to 1.

Did Kone buy Montgomery or something, or did they work together on this elevator?
Kone bought out Montgomery Elevator in 1994.
AND created Montgomery KONE (which is now discontinued)
