  • Anyone know where I can purchase the sheet music for this version of In the mood? Is it the original one or and improved version?

  • Does anyone know where I can go to buy a copy of this version of In the mood? I don't know what exactly I'm looking for and the sites I've looked at don;t provide page samples and such

  • there's a little pipe organ that can play by itself that's in parades all the time around here

  • sooo cool!

  • Yes it is. I wish I had that piano, like I said in my comment on this video.

  • LOLWUT

  • I was wondering what brand of player this is and how old....I have a friend who restores them...Jax

  • I wish that I had this kind of piano (the one that plays by itself). It is so cool. Where did you get that?

Also gives me memories from when I was a little kid in the 1990s when I lived in California, when I frequently went to this pizzeria called 'Klondike Pizza' in Santa Maria, California, where there was a piano that played by itself if you put in a quarter for each song.

  • wow!

  • wow! how did you do that?? lol

  • the best!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ahahahah!!! niceee!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! Will auch so´n Teil haben!!!

  • muy lindo!

  • Love it ! Where do u get the sheet? i had it one day but i lost it=/

  • By the way Krushchevs - It was written 1939. I know because I have the sheet-music and that's the date on it.

  • it may be better if you played it yourself

  • the sheet music is easily found...it is in the..........gasp....choke.....choke....wheeez.....thump!

  • just a suggestion id say there are a few people who did this piano roll-either joe garland, george gershwin, jerry 'roll' morton or frank milne. remember these are all just suggestions so corret me if iam wrong

  • I'm not exactly sure who did the version in this video (Walter Erickson on Play-Rite maybe [?]---can you let me know for sure, nealien?). But the version I own is played by J. Lawrence Cook (QRS 7118).

  • my version is better

  • does anyone know where ican get sheet music for that paino roll for 'in the mood'

  • the sheet music is in the ............thump

  • Shangas you are wrong about him being in the army he was not a major until 1942 which means he was not in the air force then. Also it was performed WAAY before 1940 try more like 1929

  • 1. I know that.

    2. HE RECORDED IT IN 1940, you jackass. I know when he started performing. I'm talking about the date of recording.

  • cool..wehhehh:):)

  • I don't see the telltale marks of wood between the keys. Are those actual ivories?

  • glenn miller is too cool!

  • Joseph Garland was the original one who wrote it.

  • No, but I am! Waheee!!! Pianolas (or 'player-pianos' as they're also called) are lots of fun to fool around with.

  • That can't be played by one person....you need at least 8 fingers in the treble and 4 on the bass, so unless he's got a 3rd hand...

  • Thats because its not written for a piano its written for a big band

  • Who the hell was playing that piano, an invisible man?

  • cool i saw one of those piano's when i went to los vegas

  • its las vegas lol and im not even american im an aussie

  • i actually played this in my concert in 5th grade as a solo on clarinet

  • Love the dutch angle shot

    Nice Piano

  • xd jep

  • To think someone actually played that with two hands...what skill.

  • i think its impossible to play with two hands.. try counting how many are pressed down at one time.. and how far apart.

  • I play In The Mood with two hands. What you need to know is that the white thing in the middle there, is a pianola roll. They have little cuts in them, which match up with notes. The only way those cuts get there, is if someone puts them there by playing the piece.

  • you just name one of the ways rolls where made. another way was right from sheet music, and often loads of notes where added, making it impossible to play by hand. Whether this is a hand-played or arranged roll I don't know.

  • me too XD

let me post a video response, cuz i m playin another version of that song, i ve added and deleted some parts ;)

  • Me too.

  • i play this song!

  • Composed by Joseph Garland, 1939. Performed by Major Alton Glenn Miller and His Orchestra, 1940.

  • cool, i like this song but i like it on sax

  • Great Glen Miller!!! Beautiful and nice. Woul be interesthing if you coul transfer those music roll to MIDI or translate to Sheet Music.

  • i <3 this song :P i play it on the piano all the time!
