Love the authenticity you guys added to this, should be one hell of a show, good on all of you esp mr drummer man!!I was lucky enuff to be in the drum seat back in 1977 here in Perth WA,we had a ball as you all should have as well,Harald...
Definitely, Duane is still twanging as good as ever.
The third tune sounds a bit like some of Al Casey's stuff on Return of the Green Gretsch. Great Tune. Regarding the second tune, I wish now I would have kept my Jerry Jones 6 string Longhorn. I think I bought the last one that was available in 2011.
Saw Duane Eddy and the Rebels live in South Africa in 1959 or 1960. Loved the show! It also featured the great John D Loudermilk who had a huge hit in SA with Blue Train. Have always been a fan of those artistes, even now at the age of 71. :-)
He plays guitar the way Hemingway writes. These tunes sound ageless, and somehow inevitable, but much of the action takes place in the spaces between notes. Such pregnant silences sold a reported 100 million records for Eddy, but their echoes have ebbed down the generations... The Twang has been on an epic journey, bounced along blue highways by Hank Marvin and George Harrison and Bruce Springsteen, into the epic landscapes of Ennio Morricone and Angelo Badalamenti.
I just can't help thinking about those people walking behind (in the street) and not knowing what they are so close to and what they are missing! Great stuff. Thanks for posting.
