@DC11961 The reason Jack didn't want to hear it is because Owen's dead too. She had no way of knowing Owen would be dead when she was making her message, since both of them died at the same time. But it hurts to hear that her final declaration of love falls on deaf ears.

This scene is a stunner. Just when you thought you couldn't cry any harder...
Owen's final, almost imperceptible "Oh, God" as his scene fades out, Tosh fixing her final gaze on Jack's face as she dies...and then this sweet, sad final sign-off. Her shy little message of love to Owen, who of course is not there to hear it (though she couldn't have imagined that when she made the video), this is just heartbreaking...beyond heartbreaking....
I loved Owen and to watch him die so quietly an with acceptance, i cried horribly! i cried even more that Tosh had to watch him die while her heart was breaking. she had to watch the man she truly loved die. and then ianto came next and i was crying harder than jack was! brilliant team! loved them!
they are goin to have to have some dang good replacements to beat the team if they ever do another torchwood
i thought they couldnt really make another series because after Jack kills/sacrifices his own grandson he gave up on Tourchwood and 'zoomed' off into space to become the Face of Bo?
I also hate it that the three are gone now, but think about Doctor Who! Rose was leaving and you may feel like nobody could replace her and than they take so wonderful charakters like Donna (I love her!!!) and Martha! We will get a new great Torchwood-Team!

I was starting to cry when Owen was basically waiting calmly for death and telling Toshiko it was ok. Then she died and it made me cry again. The message she left set me off even more.
And as much as I loved both of the characters though, I, like many I'm guessing, am glad they both got brilliant send offs.

Toshiko is one of the best characters in creative fiction... She was always my favorite and I'm so heartbroken to see her go! ;___;

Mickey and Martha r the only ppl in doctor who and torchwood who can replace tosh and owen. Martha is a doctor just like Owen was and Mickey is a computer genius like Tosh (though I think tosh was better). I wish Tosh and Owen wuld come bak but if I HAD to replace them id choose Martha and Mickey.

1. Owen told Tosh FIRST, in the dinner table scene, quoting his mother that she told him to tell the truth. Tosh stormed off. Couldn't remember why, think it has something to do with Adam and she was dressed up for the date & Owen wore a swearshirt and the other ladies' dates were in dinner jackets. Can't be sure.
2. Tosh told Owen when he was resurrected supposedly for only 10 mins for goodbyes. Owen dismissed that as grief. Something to say to a dying man.
yeah but its like the whole thing with Martha and The Doctor. she was in love with him but he dismissed it because he was mourning Rose. y'know. that scene after he explained the keys they wore around the neck. "Its like when you fancy someone and they dont even know you exist." "You too. huh?"
The reason Tosh didnt believe him in "Adam" was coz thier minds and memories were changed by Adam.
Martha is now engaged. She was 'unattached' at the time she met the Dr. Rose was in love with Mickey, slightly different.
Yes, I watch my TW vids again a few wks ago, remembered why Tosh told Owen off, 'Inappropriate' as she thought she's in love with Adam. YES, she was under the influence of Adam who changed her memory. So she walked out when Owen said he loves her.

They cannot just bring Tosh back without bringing back Owen. Her heart was broken. It seems possible for Owen to be back but not Tosh, in the way Owen 'died'. Tosh is definitely gone, she bled to death.
I've just watched the doctor who series finale and in the NORMAL WORLD (not pete's) Jack, Martha and Mickey go off together so i think they are the two new people in the Torchwood team! God i cried in the torchwood finale and now in the doctor who one! they just keep getting better and better each series!
I promised myself I wouldn't cry on this episode, i kept it together kinda when Owen and Tosh died, but when this final message came up, I lost it, and cried like a baby :P
i remember i was out at my friends for this episode and my mum said she video it for me and then when i came bac it was about one in the morning i watched it and my mum, who doesn't even watch torchwood wouldn't tell me what happened but she was very certain that she had to sit with me while i watched it!! it ended with the 2 of us in tears!
I figured they were going to kill off one of the "sweethearts," Tosh or Ianto, for the finale.
As much as Naoko claims Tosh came full circle, I don't feel she really developed many more dimensions over the season. We learn her past, but she didn't really grow much in the present, still the same quiet complacence.
I wish she'd been given an opportunity for more. Naoko has been known to do comedy well, maybe let Tosh loosen up and be funny for a bit.
The quality of acting in this is just amazing. Obviously Burn and Naoko really sellit and make your heart break in this scene. But John Barrowman is just amazing in this episode, with his acting and emotion. Eve Myles is also a fantastic actress. Just heartbreaking this episode, makes me well up no matter how many times I watch it. :(

Torchwood without Tosh and Owen will never be the same. They *made* Torchwood for me coz we saw all their ups and downs. They were like a mixture of TenRose and TenMartha and it just worked so perfectly. I can never stop crying whenever I watch Exit Wounds. The writers did them proud.

Gosh, if Jack leaves then the ratings are gonna plummet even more. I mean, he's the one essential character. If he leaves the show's pretty much over.
hes not going to leave permanently, hes going to do guest appearences but, they might as well write him off since the show is essentialy about his character. here in the u.k. people do not like torchwood as much as its parent programme doctor who which the whole family can watch, what mr russel t davis should have done was let captain jack character be something like harry harrisons stainless steel rat character, a rogue adventurer in time and space.
Both shows are really brilliant in their own ways, but I can't blame the cast for fluctuating once and a while. They do, after all, go on for a really long time. I don't think any less of Torchwood for being more mature.
Even if Jack is just leaving temporarily, that's still something to work around. At the moment, that would leave the main cast at two or three. (If supports like Rhys and Andy count.)
i have a feeling that in series 3 that john guy who jack knows and rhys are going to come into it, as they been in this series a fair bit. only a hunch lol

in my opinion playing tosh was a pretty thankless job...even though there were a couple of episodes focused on her, she was mostly treated as a side character while much of the action revolved around jack and gwen. don't get me wrong, i love tosh, shes got majorly kickass professionalism. killing off tosh was probably because the actress wants to move on to another show
Actually a lot of episodes that get attention for other things "Captian Jack Harkness" with the famous Jack on Jack kiss, it's really Tosh's part and scenes in that episode that come to my mind more. Another was Tosh in "Countrycide."

Don't really know much about the actress that plays Tosh but think it's quite possible Burn Gorman would choose to move on to different things, seems to like playing different characters - look at Bleak House!
(...maybe he got some advice from Gillian Anderson to move on before he ends up doing 9 years and fighting type-casting! lol)
There can be no series 3 for me. Owen & Tosh cannot be equaled or surpassed. There are very few TV ensemble casts that have the chemistry that these five did. I want to remember the original and incredible Torchwood team- not a team with second-rate replacements.

I held my tears in all the way through the death sequence, but when her message came up, I just bawled my eyes out. It was so sad. Now I can't stop crying!! Bring back Owen and Tosh :(

I absolutely cried my eyes out when i watched this, i was watching it with my mate and she was crying to! I cant believe they are gone!
Tosh always loved Owen cant believe they didnt get together! But still cant wait for next series!

Mickey and Martha r the only ppl in doctor who and torchwood who can replace tosh and owen. Martha is a doctor just like Owen was and Mickey is a computer genius like Tosh (though I think tosh was better). I wish Tosh and Owen wuld come bak but if I HAD to replace them id choose Martha and Mickey.

Both Owen and Tosh have told each:
1. Owen told Tosh FIRST, in the dinner table scene, quoting his mother that she told him to tell the truth. Tosh stormed off. Couldn't remember why, think it has something to do with Adam and she was dressed up for the date & Owen wore a swearshirt and the other ladies' dates were in dinner jackets. Can't be sure.
2. Tosh told Owen when he was resurrected supposedly for only 10 mins for goodbyes. Owen dismissed that as grief. Something to say to a dying man.

The reason Tosh didnt believe him in "Adam" was coz thier minds and memories were changed by Adam.

Martha is now engaged. She was 'unattached' at the time she met the Dr. Rose was in love with Mickey, slightly different.
Yes, I watch my TW vids again a few wks ago, remembered why Tosh told Owen off, 'Inappropriate' as she thought she's in love with Adam. YES, she was under the influence of Adam who changed her memory. So she walked out when Owen said he loves her.

They cannot just bring Tosh back without bringing back Owen. Her heart was broken. It seems possible for Owen to be back but not Tosh, in the way Owen 'died'. Tosh is definitely gone, she bled to death.

I've just watched the doctor who series finale and in the NORMAL WORLD (not pete's) Jack, Martha and Mickey go off together so i think they are the two new people in the Torchwood team! God i cried in the torchwood finale and now in the doctor who one! they just keep getting better and better each series!

i remember i was out at my friends for this episode and my mum said she video it for me and then when i came bac it was about one in the morning i watched it and my mum, who doesn't even watch torchwood wouldn't tell me what happened but she was very certain that she had to sit with me while i watched it!! it ended with the 2 of us in tears!

I figured they were going to kill off one of the "sweethearts," Tosh or Ianto, for the finale.
As much as Naoko claims Tosh came full circle, I don't feel she really developed many more dimensions over the season. We learn her past, but she didn't really grow much in the present, still the same quiet complacence.
I wish she'd been given an opportunity for more. Naoko has been known to do comedy well, maybe let Tosh loosen up and be funny for a bit.

The quality of acting in this is just amazing. Obviously Burn and Naoko really sellit and make your heart break in this scene. But John Barrowman is just amazing in this episode, with his acting and emotion. Eve Myles is also a fantastic actress. Just heartbreaking this episode, makes me well up no matter how many times I watch it. :(

If he was leaving, it would be on the news(believe me, it would) and he loves the job he siad "If I didn't enjoy being on Torchwood I would leave." and he enjoys it.
It would also be in the Torchwood magazine if he was leaving, so I think it's safe to say it's a false rumour,which rumours usually are.

Torchwood without Tosh and Owen will never be the same. They *made* Torchwood for me coz we saw all their ups and downs. They were like a mixture of TenRose and TenMartha and it just worked so perfectly. I can never stop crying whenever I watch Exit Wounds. The writers did them proud.

hes not going to leave permanently, hes going to do guest appearences but, they might as well write him off since the show is essentialy about his character. here in the u.k. people do not like torchwood as much as its parent programme doctor who which the whole family can watch, what mr russel t davis should have done was let captain jack character be something like harry harrisons stainless steel rat character, a rogue adventurer in time and space.

Both shows are really brilliant in their own ways, but I can't blame the cast for fluctuating once and a while. They do, after all, go on for a really long time. I don't think any less of Torchwood for being more mature.
Even if Jack is just leaving temporarily, that's still something to work around. At the moment, that would leave the main cast at two or three. (If supports like Rhys and Andy count.)

in my opinion playing tosh was a pretty thankless job...even though there were a couple of episodes focused on her, she was mostly treated as a side character while much of the action revolved around jack and gwen. don't get me wrong, i love tosh, shes got majorly kickass professionalism. killing off tosh was probably because the actress wants to move on to another show

Actually a lot of episodes that get attention for other things "Captian Jack Harkness" with the famous Jack on Jack kiss, it's really Tosh's part and scenes in that episode that come to my mind more. Another was Tosh in "Countrycide."

I miss Tosh So Much! I'm Glad it wasent Gwen that died and for all the people saying Gwen should have died well she shouldnt have! Cos no-one should have died! I think the director just likes hurting peoples feelings, He certainly did a good job there, I was crying for days and still am sad.

Don't really know much about the actress that plays Tosh but think it's quite possible Burn Gorman would choose to move on to different things, seems to like playing different characters - look at Bleak House!
(...maybe he got some advice from Gillian Anderson to move on before he ends up doing 9 years and fighting type-casting! lol)

There can be no series 3 for me. Owen & Tosh cannot be equaled or surpassed. There are very few TV ensemble casts that have the chemistry that these five did. I want to remember the original and incredible Torchwood team- not a team with second-rate replacements.
