i find this dog truly amazing, because i had several dogs and invariably they are really scared of thunders, almost to the point of "panic paranoia" ,but i see ur dog enjoys and is excited by thunders and rain, thats really special. My dogs would always search for refuge, usually under the bed, and no pampering words would sooth them until the storm ends.And many people have told me the same about their dogs.So its really a surprise that ur dog actually doesnt run away from thunderstorms.Female?
the first leader was on the fence second was near those landscaping stones third leader was closer to the dog and the fence again all at 0:31 the actuall strike probably happend to the left or right of the camera as i didnt see it those were all leaders that didnt connect to the actuall charge coming from the cloud. it may have just struck close by but not in their yard. good catch of those leaders though i might say.

If this video is fake then I'm afraid the absence of a crater and smoke is not proof of that.
Why it looks fakey to me: Because in the beginning, they're just standing there filming the dog(not the storm, lightning, each other, or a number of things which would seem natural and spontaneous) who's also just standing there for a while, and then the camera follows the dog as it runs into the yard, as if they're "expecting something to happen" involving the dog. (then again, maybe they were trying to get footage of the dog acting crazy in in the storm. who knows...)

Is this real lightning or fake? It's hard to tell since it happened right after the dog ran. Very interesting, but scary situation. Thank god the dog was okay. Poor thing must of been real scared.
It's not 'fake.' The foreground 'lightning' that nearly hits the dog is just a reflection of the main bolt, which is above and well behind the yard. It's just lens flare, people.
I just watched a show all about lightning, sprites, and other phenomena, and they stated that lightning is 50,000 degrees, which I believe is much cooler than the sun's surface. However, they did not give any indication as to the temps involved with blue jets and sprites.
Lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun... I'd think this is fake because it would be much brighter... like a camera whiteout, rather than a few thin light lines.

Is this real lightning or fake? It's hard to tell since it happened right after the dog ran. Very interesting, but scary situation. Thank god the dog was okay. Poor thing must of been real scared.

It's not 'fake.' The foreground 'lightning' that nearly hits the dog is just a reflection of the main bolt, which is above and well behind the yard. It's just lens flare, people.

I just watched a show all about lightning, sprites, and other phenomena, and they stated that lightning is 50,000 degrees, which I believe is much cooler than the sun's surface. However, they did not give any indication as to the temps involved with blue jets and sprites.

Lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun... I'd think this is fake because it would be much brighter... like a camera whiteout, rather than a few thin light lines.
