  • I owna Bo-staff and I do not use it the same way kareteka use it, but I can attest to anyone how hard it is to transition 180 degrees and maintain control of the staff itself.

It really takes serious time to program the mind to adjust to forward and reverse spinning.

Looks easy... that's about it; for the average person.

  • i was taught a different way before i quit..

your hands never even move from the bo staff

so basically your hands don't lift off from the bo staff

  • You're so melodramatic haha

  • fuck you have big hands holy shit

  • you sound funny lmao

  • thank you so much, i learned how to do it,

  • The GREATEST video on staff training I found!Nice work(both in staff and on video making)

  • You're gooooood!!! Excellent! Thank you for the video! I'll be practicing. :D Cheers

  • now-a-days people just shoot each other

  • 2 people dont own a bo staff

  • @azazinninja Mostly everyone here doesn't have one

  • i um sadly i broke my lamp :P

  • Prescott Valley, AZ? Awesome! I go up there a lot. :)

Anyways, great vid, definitely helpful. I'm not quite high enough ranked in karate yet to study Bo yet, but I'm high enough in my Shaolin kung fu class to study Jo, so I'm definitely going to try this with that. Thanks! :D

  • this is a demonstration not a tutorial, but still, helpful

  • @frozeddragon He also said in the beginning it was a demonstration lol.

  • So, is the forward figure 8 essentially just spinning it while moving it left and right?

  • thankyou!

  • He could have explained the figure 8 a little better.

  • I just learned how to kick the bo staff under my foot durring a round house kick

  • @ehowmartialarts Can all karate use weapon and can karate use weapon as in swords and bow?

  • i want to do karate but im probably too old

  • @Mrbasketballer76 hell no its for everone

  • @Mrbasketballer76 you are never too old, i got like a 45 year old dud on my wing tsun team who started same time as me.

    go for it:P

  • @Mrbasketballer76 My dad does karate and hes 40 if you want to try you should try :)

  • @Mrbasketballer76 theres a few dudes in my dojo in their 40's +. besides it keeps you fit so if anything the older you are the more incentive to join up.

  • @Mrbasketballer76 I study both karate and kung fu and in my kung fu class we have a 78-year-old man who just started last year. So, nope, you're never too old for martial arts. :)
