Who cares if the song was in a TV show? Musician's gotta eat, health insurance is expensive, mortages cost a lot, saving for retirement is a bitch, and it's nice to have some dough to do some cool stuff like traveling or just giving it away to something you believe in. The margins in the music biz (even for moderately successful acts and artists) are far thinner than a lot of naive fans realize or would want to believe. More power to them for getting exposure and some licensing money.

Tough to say. My cousin lives in Vermont, and they don't have a television. I do and I have never seen Gray's Anatomy or know anything about it. My guess is that it is a doctor show. But I have heard of it.

Let me guess, you're about 17-21 years or so old. I too KNEW everything at that age. I know less now, but do know it was a common business TV/film deal. Producers of the show approached the band, probably through its management, & asked to use the song in an edisode. Ms. Potter makes it clear she did not know the program , but obviously gave the producers permission (and was paid) to use it. If you're doubtful of Grace's own words & think she's a lier, why listen to her? Enjoy the music
