  • For all intents and purposes, this Elite 8 game was the national title game in 2000. I have long thought that had Iowa State managed to win this game, they would have gone all they way that year. They were VERY good.

  • Good Times #SPARTAN

  • @mopetetv do u remember this highlight

  • NASTY NASTY!!!!

  • SEND IT IN MO PETE!!!

  • props to you for making your own scoreboard hahah that helped tremendously

  • One of the best calls ever from Lunqvist and Rafferty. Love how they scream at the same time the crowd goes NUTS. And by nuts I mean apeshit.

  • jason richardson was on the spartans team this year too... das crazy

  • @spanishsupafly Including J Rich, this team had four guys who spent at least SOME time in the NBA. The other three were Mo Pete, Charlie Bell and Mateen Cleaves. Of the four, Mateen Cleaves was the least successful in the NBA, but oh well.

  • the ROAR after the dunk was just crazy...it made me feel like go chug some beer and roar myself lol

  • I remember watching this game as a Junior at MSU. It scared that living shit out of me! After we won this game though, I knew we were going all the way.

  • then isu lost to fucking hampton the next season

  • didnt the coach from isu get ejected from this game

  • This game WAS the championship game for all intents and purposes. Too bad there was some shaky officiating at the end. A very questionable back pick call on a routine inbound pass at half court against ISU. And an even more ridiculous "double foul" in the paint.

Without those two crazy calls late in the game MSU may still have won. But at least then Iowa State fans wouldn't be stuck wondering.

    +1

  • ISU got screwed that whole season. They were projected to finish 10th in the big 12. They still didn't get a #1 seed even after they had the best record in the big 12 AND won the big twelve tournament. Instead they got a two seed in THE SAME FUCKING REGIONAL AS THE #1 OVERALL. And on top of that, they had to deal with the single most bullshit game of officiating I have ever seen. Its like EEEEveryone was against ISU that year.

  • fucking awesome

That was a great game, though. Too bad Marcus Fizer and Mateen Cleaves both sucked in the NBA.

  • In my opinion, this was the national championship game. Then Larry Eustachy had a 4 start meltdown towards the end of the game.

  • i remember i was like 10 when i watched this on tv...went outside and lowerd my hoop and pretended i was Mo-pete lol

  • Classic Spartan basketball moment. One to cherish.

  • Mo pete rules...........awesome player!

  • I was courtside at that game...it was crazy...boom...gameover...still the play that sticks in my head when I think of that Championship run...love when tom pulls that play out, always seems to be a big point in a game

  • Holy shit that was amazing. Go State 2009!

  • holy shit, listen to that roar in the palace. i would have done anything to be there.

  • haha i've seen this dunk before.

but i never heard that story..that's great.

    GO GREEN!

  • The Palace went absolutely NUTS when he threw that down. Had to be the loudest I've ever heard at a sporting event. Still one of the greatest moments of my life

  • best team ever
