Wasn't there some responsibility on the mortgage lenders to validate some of the fruadulent documentation they received? I see so much of subprime loans being "pushed tthrough" but who really was really supposed to be validating all these documents? It's just unfathomable to me that banks like WAMU, Suntrust etc haven't been called on the carpet for it.
@johnchime Investigators discovered it was the bankers and mortgate providers themselves who created fraudulent documentation (income, forging signatures, etc) in order to get the commission on closed deals. This was brought to light recently - the shock was how many particpated in this practice in order to collect their commissions.
The interviewer is wildly annoying: looking around, looking away, fidgeting, looking for his next question, fumbling through papers, tapping his shoe, rolling his ankle, etc. Charles Ferguson is a squirmy guy and the interviewer makes him look cool as a cucumber. And does he look at his watch at 32: 33?
What I enjoy most about Mr. Ferguson's views is that they are non-partisan, informed, and very measured. I'm recommending this to as many people as I can.
Yes, unbelievable royaltetley. I am a teacher of a Financial Literacy class and cannot believe how few people realize these things. Even worse is how few people care to know about these things.
If half as many people watched this and not the new Rebecca Black video, I'm sure I could say that society was heading in a generally positive direction.
