  • Looks a top day!!

  • are sanddabs good bait for lings??

  • Scusate mi sapreste dire che pesce è quello a 1:10

    grazie

  • @flyfiscingmania , The fish at 1:10 is a Ling Cod

  • Nice catch! Lings are tasty, but, in Puget sound anyway, you can only keep 26" to 36" incher's as most of the larger fish are older egg producing females and they aren't as good eating.

  • I'd like for you guys to upload this video and any others you have on my new site: 907outdoors(dot com)

It's the first of its kind for Alaska and I'd appreciate your participation in it!

  • whats limit on the cod, the halibut, and salmon per person... that looks like alot of fish??

  • Oh yeah CoD Modern Fishing

  • if i go fishing in Alaska on a charter boat, it is most likely ill catch more than 5 fish?????

  • @TheRuddick21 depends on what u are fishing for in most parts of Alaska u are allowed 2 halibut and 2 ling cod and the salmon it just depends on where u are. but if u fish out of Valdez Alaska u should catch more than 5 fish u may only keep 2-9 depending on what kind of fish u catch but are limits are set by species and a few have to be over 35 inches.

  • you should release the small halibut and salmon

  • I want to take a fishing vacation to Alaska with my husband some day. We love salmon trout and halibut. I don't think I am strong enough for those though :(. Probably have to stay on the shore where there are smaller fish?

  • It's not that hard, and the crew will help you if you need help. You can do it!

The waters are so calm being protected in the bay. I do like rough water (the adrenaline), but the hubby would love the calmer seas.

Our part of the Pacific is a bit too rough on him. I don't get seasick, he does, poor guy.

We keep talking about taking a fishing trip to Alaska, but never can get away from the ranch here!

  • HEEEEYYYY ... I'VE BEEN ON THAT BOAT!! GREAT VIDEO!!! You Rock, Northern Outfitters! Other YouTubers: ya gotta get up to Alaska. Been up here 26 yrs. Am in Homer, on the other side of the peninsula from Seward. LOVE LOVE LOVE The entire state and the fishing? Oh man ... freshwater and salt ... the BEST! (and btw, I liked the song you chose. "Takin Care of Business" by Bad Company just totally FITS, man!)

  • I wanna do this stuff really bad...

but seriously, Takin' Care of Business? there are much better songs you could have played to this

  • Thats a hell of a Ling!

  • wow would hate to be that deckhand with like 12 people on that boat omg

  • Just got back from Seward a couple hours ago! I miss the place already, I did the same kind of charter. Such a great place, Alaska.

  • for Halibut i heard they so big ppl keep shotgons on the boat just in case

  • yeah. usually a 410. they shoot it in the head just before they bring it on board

  • great vid!!

  • just got back from Seward. Awesome place & nice video.

  • when you get all those fish, you make slits on the tail. It marks your fish and it helps bleed them.

  • nice ling

  • man that looks fun

  • With so many fish and so many people, how do ya keep track of whose fish is whose?

  • They put color coded tags on their mouth.

  • what was that 3rd fish caught? It looked like an oversized Goby. What a monster!

  • That is called a Ling Cod and that was a small one they get HUGE

  • yeh they do they are just rookies

  • last week i caught a 32 inch 10 pound ling cod biggest fish ive ever caught but hey im only 12 took 10 mins to reel in hehe

  • Thats a nice halibut. I have family in seward

  • Alguien me puede informar donde es ese lugar,y si hay un site en internet donde pueda conseguir mayor informacion..? Gracias de antemano.

  • The end of the video has the website for more information. It's in Seward, Alaska.

  • laurelms. My typical Alaskan weekend off! Drop my crab pots, shrimp pots, get salmon the first day, Halibut, Lincod, Rockfish the second, see humpback, and killer whales daily, most awesome scenery in the world, then go pick up my pots, and have fresh Salmon, Halibut, Lincod,Crab, Spotted shrimp,etc...! We are spoiled up here! You in the lower 48 who have never been to Alaska, havent a clue!Simple!

  • Shhhhhhhhhhh, whats wrong with you. Its a cold inhospidable place full of darkness and bears.

  • Although I hate the cold, that sounds like a dream life for many!

  • laurelms. By the way, moved to seward in 1980, after driving the Alaska Highway with my mom, the silver fishing isnt nearly what it used to be there! Cordova, and Kodiak, are the best places by far!

  • CALIFORNIA- Salt water license, freshwater license, lake day pass (cost money), trout lake permit fee, parking fee, no alcohol drinking, no Hawaiian shirt fee, you catch something else no permit no dinner. By the time you get to start fishing you're already short on the mortgage payment. That's why I'll just buy the fish at the store.

One time in San Diego I bought a $1 bucketful of swimming anchovies for bait. I went home and fry them suckers, no hassles.

    GUYS! I DO MISSED ALASKA.

  • maunaakaone! I guide on Kodiak Island. We catch our own herring for bait, they are so thick! Then I catch Salmon, Halibut, Lingcod, until my arm is sore! We are spoiled up here, you know? Plus I get to see Kodiak Bears Daily, and share rivers with them! Someone has to do it, huh? You should get back up here!

  • Herrings are good just too boney Japs likes the roe. I did came back up in summer of 2004 and camp by the Kenai River for 3 days it was a blast.

Went to Homer, Hope and Seward & back to Anchorage for everyday BBQ and booze. It was supposed to be a 2 week vacation but I called my boss in CA. & told him "you can fire me, I'm staying for another 2 weeks". He just said "I don't blame you".

My close encounter with a bear was in Russian River back in the 80's- I was gone in 2 seconds! World record!

  • maunakaone! Alaska tends to do that to people! We are very spoiled with what we have up here! You have seen it! You know what I mean! I coudnt imagine living anywhere else after seeing this place the past 27 yrs! You gonna get back up here???

  • thats illegal to keep that many. your way over your quota

  • redoscar21! Sorry, you live where? I used to live in Seward, where this took place! First, "a quota" is used by Commercial fisherman", not sport fisherman! Second, check the AK fish and game regs before you spew bullshit! Where do you live? Obviously not Alaska! Typical know it all lower 48 fuck! You havent a clue about our fishery! Which by the way is the healthiest in the world up here in Alaska! Want to try to dispute that too??? Ignorant ass!

  • This was a sport fishing boat. The crew made sure that each person who fished that day was licensed and stayed within their catch limit. The regulations are important and because they were carefully followed, we all had a great trip!

  • laurelms! See why I get frustrated trying to educate people about Alaska??? Most down south, havent a clue how it is up here! We have the best fishery, wildlife, wilderness, etc.. in the world, because we manage it well!

  • Making me HOMESICK. Born and raised Alaskan..now living in FL. =(

  • akkricket! Sorry for you! Why arent you back up here in alaska?

  • nice one you stronggers man plumeka

  • how heavy was the lingcod? i caught one in alaska and i think ours was about the same size. nice fish, alaska is the most beautiful place on earth.

  • Hallo from Danmark. Nice Boat and fishing you have ;-)

  • beutiful fish

  • good cod.

  • Nice lingcod!

  • how good is cod? i havent tried one yet...

  • Lincod is the best! Better eating that RedCod. Just dont put your bare hands or fingers in that mouth!

  • are they better than....californian halibut?

  • I think so.. We used to have lin cod as much as Rock cod but it was over fished now there hardly is any left in California.

  • 2 words hell yeah.........

  • hey thats me hahahha

  • esta bien malo guao

  • Looks like ya had fun. was there 2 years ago. Bad weather canceled the fishing.

  • that was one hell of a ling...as ugly as they are, they're still good eating

  • that a BIG fish you go there keep it up

  • alaska is the best place to fish salmon

  • Great, but the fishing is better on the Queen Charlotte Islands.

  • I don't think the fishing can get any better than it was. :-)

  • wow I gotta make that trip. See (Fishing with Sylan 2007) big browns

  • Awesome. Yes, definitely make the trip to fish in Alaska. Best fishing trip I've ever done.

  • I wanna go fishing!
