@iamatlantis He has more trouble against zoners in this game because of the loss of invincibility. Really, beam assists (iron man, doom, mags, TM, and hawkeyes) are too good in this game for every character. This game is very call assist do a teleport or move very fast to mix up. I find Sentinels charge is his best assist in this game because it gives Wolverine free roam on the ground to set up his offense. If he gets hit it doesnt matter because the drones will stop your opponents combo.

The drones assist is very underrated in this game IMO actually. It's not a true block string anymore but it still is on the screen for a LONG time and has a lot of active frames to set up what you want to do. You really just have to throw it ou more cautiously now. Have your point character cover the assist and then when the drones are on the screen do as you wish.

I think I deleted your comment by accident...my bad. Wolverines best overhead is his jump L because it is instant. Call an assist and mix up between a throw, (mash H to get more hits/dmg) cross up bers slash, non cross up bers slash or instant overhead with jump L. Thats his general gameplan. Off of random Bers slashes cancel into Charge to dash st M-combo. If you cancel into a DMG hyper you lose your damage output. QCF AA is great for instant corner placement though.

@yourstillwithme I'm not meaning to mess anything up but. I really don't think Wolverine is still best in this. Sure he still has cross-ups and all, but he's much easier to beat now. Akuma, I'm not feeling that vibe. Getting his HP dropped and then getting a few buffs is nice but..It's like they made Akuma the new Glass Cannon of MvC aside from Strider. But that can go on the lines of..any character can be good depending on who plays it.

@XevenTheRedMage I agree. I don't think Wolverine is brain dead anymore. It feels like his normals got nerfed too in terms of priority IMO. Akuma is still solid but i dont think hes top tier. His assist is not Vajra or Plasma Beam status. Akuma is high mid tier IMO at the moment. Wolverine is still a really good character and is placing decent at events. Hes solid.

@yourstillwithme Yeah that's true, but I don't see many Wolverine's compared to Weskers these days. But I use Spider-Man/Nova/Zero so I can't really say much haha. And Akuma..I think he's alright now, I preffered him more in Vanilla actually. Wolverine..feels like he got the nerf bomb, but he's still good in some aspects. I don't really think of him and S tier anymore, probably A tier now.

@yourstillwithme Thanks for the response. What mix ups do you use behind akuma and sent? I just use basic low Ls and slash. Does he have an overhead to add to the mix up? I really need to do something different :(

Wolverine and Akuma are still definitely BFFs. Except for waiting for Akuma's tatsu to finish, you can just Tornado Claw into Fatal Claw and you can even repeat it. The timing isn't even strict at all.
