if you knew about the marches, you'd know that this was a march that was led by various organizers, many of which were citizens.
as for foreigners walking on the streets... not all of them. i'm a US citizen, but i have friends who aren't and are in a bad legal situation. i'm not going to turn my back on them. i doubt, if you were in the same position, you would turn your back on them.
Keep fighting America ! and keep America safe against Illegal aliens! You know its the right thing to do , Our greedy Govenment is undermining us , FiGHT Fax numbers usa .com and let your cogress and government officials KNOW ! Contact ICE and REPORT illegal aliens!
Obama is just a terrorist lover...why else would he b making these allies with our enemys? i dnt thnk he is going to do much @ all to make a big positive impact for america. how much has he done so far tht actually matters
There may not BE a "birth-record" of Obama because if he was born in Kenya then its not unusual that no records are kept of the (so-called minority). Unless things have changed. IF he was actually BORN in Hawaii....then some drunk doctor may have misplaced his birth certificate.
its ok if your name is the Messiah Obama! People need to realize this guy is the King of the USA, dont question him, dont mock him, dont anything him! some change eh? Obama is a 1 termer at best because his scamming chicago ways will come to the surface sooner of later
"you never heard anything bad about obama on the news. the media won him the election"
And you never will hear anything bad about him - which is bad news for Americans. The guy isn't even in office yet and the coverups have begun. What a wonderful country!
key word in the term "illegal alien" is illegal. theyre not supposed to be here. catch em at the border if you can, if they get by, catch them if the break the law, and ship em back. the others are more than welcome if they have a positive impact on our society. if they get picked up on charges, get them out.
Black folks want to see a black man as president and their probably gonna get it, but lets see how happy they are when he gives all their jobs away to illegal aliens.
Spoken like a person that doesnt have mexicans ruining your town by increasing the crime rate over 50% of the last 3 years. I wouldnt call them "Spics" I would call them ANIMALS
"please explain why you think it's appropriate for United States Senators to take part in events designed to change our laws"
It is appropriate for this to happen because United States senators happen to be the people in our country who make - and change - the laws. By listening to people's needs, a Senator is able to make decisions on behalf of the people.
"Is it proper for a United States senator to support foreign citizens marching in our streets, demanding that we change our laws?"
In fact, it is. Unless I misunderstood you, a foreign citizen refers to a citizen of the U.S. who moved here from another country. And, the citizens have a right to request change in laws and to march in the streets, granted to them by a little thing called the First Amendment.
If you are referring to these people not as citizens of the United States but as citizens of another country, I believe it is good practice for a Senator to interact with foreign people. It gives them experience and trust with foreign relations. There is nothing, I repeat nothing, wrong with supporting this event.
If you have any questions about this post, please reply. I would appreciate a reply without insults.
I feel the silly need to point out a minor discrepancy: it was an immigrant rally, not an 'illegal immigrant' rally. A state senator made an appearance on behalf of 200,000 of his states' citizens to help call for reform of the current system of immigration; which the vast majority of Americans know is horrendously flawed. I don't see him hiding his face from this. Nor should he.
Vyndettagirl: it was a pro-illegal immigration rally because what they were rallying for was giving rights to illegal aliens that they aren't currently entitled to. While many of those attending weren't illegal aliens, what they wanted only applies to illegal aliens. And, in fact, if what they wanted had been passed into law it would have had a disastrous impact on current and other future legal immigrants because there are only so many immigrants that can be processed at one time.
That processing is the very issue -- our immigration system is an abysmal mess. But you're absolutely right -- terribly inappropriate for a Senator to point that out, or to do anything that might draw any attention at all to a pressing social issue ... so very wrong...
Yep, but him hiding his driver's licenses for illegals stance(sticking Hillary on same point/debate), is okay. My bad, I forgot he helped ACORN with moter voter back in the day, votes. Deal with those who break the law, we could use personnel to fix the broken system of entry.
The costs in medical, schools, social services, housing, law enforcement, crimes, prisons, etc. are in no way offset by the jobs they hold for growing alien families.
Vendetta- i totally agree. I dont know who I will end up voting for in the end but I just understand why its so hard for people to understand the issue at hand. People sure like to "twist" the truth to serve their own intentions. The immigration rally was just that- nothting more. If Obama or McCain for that matter become president want to know how they intend to solve this problem. Why should he be crucified for supporting an immigration reform system (in AMerica) that just might work??
bullshit..you know damn good and well it was an ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION rally...who the fuck do you think youre fooling besides yourself..get fuckin real.
Here's the low-down, bright eyes. The rally, one of a teapot-full across the nation, was organized and attended by immigrants (green-carded/citizen-ed/migrant-ed and of the "run!" variety, for sure), groups in support of immigrant rights (The Federation for American Immigration Reform, reps from the ACLU, along with numerous religious organizations), and state officials pressing immigration reform -- something that ALL state officials should have their elbows in.
please just stop it..in this day and age any talk about immigration rights or reform is nothing more than politicians and corporations(the ACLU and religious folks fall under these categories as well)doing all they can to get a many ILLEGAL ALIENS in this country as possible..Its all really a trade issue..Cheap Mexican labor is quite the commodity.
... you're quite insane, aren't you? Yes, any talk of immigration rights is all a giant corporation conspiracy theory. For instance, when a migrant worker (who's family lives in my neighborhood) overstayed his visa in order to feed his family after his wife fell ill with cancer and was deported; that was stage one of this vast plan. And when his daughter was placed in intensive care after a car accident, that was stage two -- we'll call it motive.
Next, as slated, he sneaks back in to see his daughter, making him illegal, so that must be the dramatic conclusion-o-the-plot, yes?
Of course, then there was that part where he was arrested... That was a year ago. He's still in prison. And his daughter died of her injuries while he was there.
So when I petition the government to say that he should have had a comprehensive way to enter this nation legally from the outset, does that make me part of the scheme, oh wise one?
what the hell does that have to do with an entire political and economic scheme...ok, ok, ok..let me ask you one question..do you think that the politicians and corporate folks who are fighting for illegal aliens give one flying fuck about that man, his sick wife or his daughter. They may care about him because he can still work but his wife and daughter are damaged goods..Illegal aliens are voluntar slaves..period.
Missed the point there, eh? The point (for your clarity and consideration) is that these marches, these protests, are led by people who have something to say -- and a reason beyond corporate gain for saying it.
As I said before, our immigration system is in desperate need of an overhaul. If you disagree with that, as you seem to be by throwing hysterics over this event -- then you've a bit of awareness to grow into yet.
And if you truly believe that the notion of reform is "nothing more than politicians and corporations" scurrying for cheap labor -- then you've no awareness at all.
oh, how clever..the "y" button on my keyboard gets stuck and that makes me stupid...why should there be immigration reform?? millions of foreigners break the law by sneaking into the country so we're supposed to change the law?...wheres the sense in that shit? We've got enough people in this country that cant take care of themselves..we do not need a whole new group coming from another country, having 4 or 5 anchor babies that U.S citizens wiil have to take care of.
what have i said that would lead you to believe im dumb..everything i said have said is fact. The U.S and its citizens owe nothing to Mexico or its fleeing masses.Thats a fact..so fuck off and dont bother responding.
Actually, nearly everything you've said has been a matter of opinion. Biased, venemous, uninformed opinion. Not to mention astromomically in need of anger management and/or major medication.
you've yet to respond directly and specifically to a single point that ive made..if you disagree with anything i've said then use your brain and tell me why you disagree. Please go back through my comments and debate one single point that ive made..i bet you cant.
Hmm, apparently reading comprehension isn't a strong suit for you either. But for the second to last comment (which, I'll admit was entirely for my own amusement -- selfish and wonderful though it was) my every statement has been a rebuttal of your aimless outbursts. So go ahead, take a sec to pull off the white hood so there's nothing to hinder your vision and give the above words another gander. I'll wait...
(continued) "Illegal" vs. "Groups beyond". "Corporate conspiracy" vs. "Real people in genuine situations". "Political concern" vs. "Skewing of the actual purpose". See there? And once you take it all in you really get the overall scope of your failure to actually make a point, now don't you? It's okay, don't feel too silly, it happens to the best of us. Screaming vapid slogans and erroneous ideas that have no ingredient other than middle-aged fury doesn't make your point.
(continued) It makes you blind to the mountain of situations that this topic encompasses -- which, from the beginning, has been MY point. Nine-tenths of what you've said hasn't warranted a response, but I've responded nonetheless, even while knowing that a mind which so hungrily clings to rage will automatically dispel any notions that challenge it. You're right in that I didn't bother to step on the condescending xenophobia (that borders on racism) inherent in every word you've written.
(continued) Or to point out the relatively obvious notion that the overall key to solving every ongoing problem is prevention (I'll hang out while the lightbulb comes on for you on this one "Oh yeah, the reform of the process itself!"). And if you're desperate for me to continue, I will be more than happy to do so. I've nothing but time. Or if you get that you and I might as well be of a different species where this topic is concerned...
(conclusion) ... then you can tell me to "fuck off" just one last time for kicks, I'll tell you that "You have the IQ of a toaster and the foresight of a sea mollusk", and we can leave it at that.
i beleive that foreign citizens should have the right to free speech in our country. i beleive that no matter what country you are born in, you have the right to try to persuade american citizens to question their own beleifs and see a larger picture.
when all knowledge can be easily obtained the people will at least know the challenges ahead of them to bring world peace. and a peaceful demonstration rally is acceptable to me.
why is my opinion supernatural in nature? or do you think it is impossable? i think that youtube is another platform used for international freedom of speech and people from all around the world can use it in order to see broad implications outside of their country boarders.
Unbe-fucking- lievable!! Did you just ride in from a lynching- you sound like the deep south a hunded years ago. No one is debating there is a HUGe problem with illegal immigration. No one is debating that there are serious problems IF there is nothing done soon. My job involves dealing with illegal aliens on a daily bases-I think we are all well aware of the situation. However, It is not just a Black or white issue- oh wait a minute maybe it is....
let's see...hmmm- you know its funny that when it's a convenience for the "white folk" no problem huh? African slaves were just that "Illegal" but they served their purpose well didnt they?? They were granted amnesty- they were able to stay here as long as they wanted. No one ever debated that- that is until they were freed... interesting huh?
umm I have never owned a slave african or otherwise and as far as people here and illegal or otherwise I wish you europian and african aisian folks would get the hell off our land yup that right I am an INDIAN Native American peace pipe smoking fire water drinking REDMAN wild savage!! Don't forget it we are watching all you people White and Black
Commander and Chief- Pres Elect Barack Obama!- YEAH!!!
First of all the blacks who supposedly "sold" the Africans to the White folk here in America were the black slaves who were probably born as a slave and new nothing else. Have you heard of Stockholm Syndrome- YUP YUP. You get an angry black slave in America (brainwashed) and give him the task to capture as many unsuspecting FREE AFRICANS what do you think he is gonna do. There is the differece...
no way in hell a dirty slave capturer is gonna get off a rat and feces infested ship who hasn't had a bath for months and wreaks of NASTY BO- is gonna walk up to a FREE AFRICAN and speak to him (in english mind you) and make a deal "You get me as many africans from your tribe or any other and I will make sure you get sold into a nice family and get an indoor job as a butler. "OH yes masta" Don't insult their intelligence or mine please!...
stop making up lies to suit your needs , that's what the blackman does.Look at africa now they're still killing eachother by the hundreds of thousands , and Obama isen't black , he's 1/2 white so get a life.
What lies that's AMERICAN history! The truth bothers you-doesn't it? And people are killing each other ALL over the world- including right here in America! So if you are inferring what the "black" man does is kills you have an ignorant view of the world. You forgot about the middle east conflicts and the crime rate here in the US. Plenty of killing going on all over. Black, Jew, Muslim, white, mexicans etc.. Oh and I forgot that Obama is half black thanks for reminding me.
I love to see people get so pissed on debates- makes me feel like im doing my job well. Just wanted to throw that small little fact in about our American History. You disgust towards people (illegal or not) is obviously apperent. Your intolerance and hate towards people (illegal or not) is uncalled for. Yeah, we have a BIG problem and that is why we need what's called...let's see... hmmmm... IMMIRATION REFORM!!
so whether we decide to ship "them" out in a truck (becuz they are less than human)or decide to make citizenship a little more attainable- its gotta be solved- right? The best way to sympathize with a plight or person is to understand their life and situation. It isnt just black or white. Yeah, there are laws but sometimes the law is broken - you have to look at why? Yeah, i believe that illegals have to do things right to gain respect. It wont just be handed to them
i need to write more. they lost thousands of dollars because they came to find out that an illegal immigrant who had been living in the U.S. for over 10 years was driving a car w/o a license. If barack had his way then all immigrants who are in the U.S. as of now will be able to and forced to have a license and insurance. I know this is just my experience but i hope voters of my generation will look past the obvious and outside the box in choosing the next leader of this United States
Man,I'm so glad that my generation finally gets to take part in this election, because so many people in past generation are not open for new ideas. Allowing illegal immigrants/legal residents(who were a large portion of the crowd you see in the video) to become citizens will allow for more taxes to be taken and make sure that everyone has car insurance and many other things that will protect american citizens. Have you ever been part of a hit and run? probably not, but i know people who have
it is extremely complicated there is more than just fixing an entire countries economy when there are so many problems... they cant just say ok today were gonna just have a better economy and be done with it. we are lucky that we live in a country where we do have a better economy that can support us and truthfully if it werent for immigrants our economy would be ruined because of all the taxes that they pay
I'm sure it is complicated, but they obviously don't have good advisors. In the 1980's several countries in South American, including Bolivia and Chilie, turned their economies around by switching from a planned economy to free market economy. Governments just don't want to give up thier power is the problem
1 more thing people dont hate mexico they love there country most mexicans come to the USA to live the American dream most elligal mexicans wish they could be back in there homeland mexico is just like USA I have been there many times they have everything America has the only thing they lack is *jobs* besides that Mexico is a great country and that is why people have mexican flags not to diss america but to show there love to there homeland.
Wow this video is bull crap if anybody believes this shit then you must be really stupid I dont think any foreign political parties came up with the idea of starting marches all across the US this video is just used to make Obama look like a bad person.
One of the main organizers of the march Obama attended is an official with a Mexican political party. (Unrelated to Obama, someone who organized marches in Georgia is a former Mexican ConsulGeneral.)
See the link in the video description, which has citations to mainstream sources like the Chicago Tribune.
Do we condemn past international sanctions against South Africa for apartheid? Or foreigners going there to fight for equality? Do we condemn foreign political parties pressuring China to stop just letting people die in Darfur when they have influence with the Sudanese government? Whether or not you agree with the proposed immigration reform, saying that foreigners shouldn't be involved in our politics and that our politicians shouldn't associate with is backward thinking in today's world.
If we're going to nitpick, we as the United States engage in much more of the latter in countries around the world and need to stop whining about it when it happens to us. Second, you know as well as I, unless you've been twisted around by the right-wing spin-machine, that Obama supported the march because he supports a humane solution to the immigration crisis, and not a xenophobic one. Blaming Obama for Mexican politicians happening to be involved (if they were) is bad logic.
tuddy761: The video description contains a link to a page full of citations from MSM sources like the Chicago Tribune. Nothing about the video is "wrong".
CptMarsvelous1 if you have your country and your culture taken by immigrants that don't speak English natively and didn't benefit from an American education, you don't deserve it. American Capitalism at its finest is dog eat dog . The "issue" of immigration is stupid. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" That is America.
My parents were illegal immigrants (now citizens for 12 years) from Guatemala, and now I'm studying economics at the university of chicago. Is there a problem for wanting an open and clear line of communication with a neighboring government and with millions of people who desperately want nothing more than to be part of our country?
rusticyuppie: being "part of" a country means abiding by its laws, not thinking its laws don't apply to you. And, foreign governments possibly meddling in our internal politics is not "open and clear".
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@rusticyuppie no but when u steal it yes.sorry but why do illegal immigrants thnk america has all the jobs? ppl say it doesnt matter cuz they take tha shytty jobs for less pay. most jobless americans cnt get a job even if it was cleaning up someone shyt all day. unemployed ppl are literally everywhere. we dnt have enough jobs for all americans and aliens shyt a friends mother lost hr job cleaning toilets to an illegal alien. srry but get out of ur fantasy wrld americans can barely live as it is
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@rusticyuppie Yes we already have enough foreign legals, and illegals in this country! And 90% are on welfare! We should have shut the borders down 20 years ago!
@rusticyuppie wow whos misinformed? its called IDENTITY THEFT. look it up. you want to talk about fearmongering? you might feel differently when an illegal drunk driver kills your family member and takes your tax dollars to get free help at the hospital for himself before going free. but you like socialism so it figures, you live in a state where self defense is a crime. youd rather take it up the ass than own a firearm because you are too scared you wont be able to control yourself with it.
There are substantially more prudent questions for the candidates than ANYTHING regarding immigration reform. Our nation is in a death grip by lobbyists and special interests... thanks to our republican friends in office, and a vast number of supporting democrats.
How about we ask the candidates what position they'll hold against powerful lobbyists from the agricultural, fuel, telecom and pharmaceutical industries?
We are part of a larger contingent of human beings and we should start getting over our selves. 28 years of two dynasty families in our white house (Bush/Clinton) doesn't speak well for our "democracy."
The 1st amendment does NOT say that freedom of expression on American soil is to be reserved for Americans alone but for everyone indiscriminately. It is sad that you invested at least 2 hours to make this video while it would take you 2 minutes to read the bill of rights instead.
JayDeWinter: even illegal aliens do have some Constitutional rights. However, we U.S. citizens have even more rights, including the right not to have hundreds of thousands of foreign citizens marching in our streets under their home countries' flags and making demands. Almost everyone recognizes that as an extremely dangerous situation.
Barack Obama is basically just a form of a modern-day collaborateur.
Rights don't come in quantities of "more" or "less", especially according to the bill. As for Sen. Obama "supporting" any protesters, the man just happened to be in accord that a potential reform should be in order, unless you've seen him there, waving a mexican flag. As for our "right" as you placed it... well... just read what you wrote and tell me how it looks yourself :) Semiliteracy is indeed worse than complete ignorance.
JayDeWinter: whether you know it or not, citizens have more rights than illegal aliens. Being able to move to the U.S. at will is not a fundamental human right.
And, even if he wasn't waving a flag himself, he was marching with others who were. If it were May 5 that would be one thing, but many or most of those waving the flags were foreign citizens who were making a show of force in our streets.
Obama is qualified for some political office, just not in this country.

I would answer if i felt you said anything new. As it is, my previous answer stands. My only addition is that, unless you're Apache or Navajo, I call you to remember your own routes. We're ALL immigrants here, my friend. What these people are doing today with marches we once did with guns. What do you like better?
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable" JFK
Maybe if the US hadn't depleted the resources of those foreign peoples countries causing hyperinflation through our unfair trade policies they wouldn't be here looking for work and paying some taxes while trying to pay for their families health and education back home. Everyone in the US has rights while they are here because they are human not because they are American. "American" isn't some xenophobic nationalistic group of the all powerful who get to dictate global policy.
Mexico is NOT a depleted nation, and the US is not the one exploiting IT! Our elected officials pledge to protect & defend US laws & US citizens. If they can't, won't or do not wish to do this they have no place in US government.
Then what explains Bush? Talk about no place is US government. The bill of rights has been subverted, presidential signing statements aren't even a house hold dinner topic yet and people are still falling for the same type of foreign policy BS with Romney winning in Michigan. We need to wise up to the fact that the world is a network of peoples who need to support each other and work together not unfairly exploit and arrogantly intimidate and rule over.
And you are wrong about Mexico. We exploited Mexico in the 70s and 80s. Our unfair manufacturing processes which were cheap there are the same misguided waste dumping price meeting practices American corporations use now in China for cheap outsourced goods. Now with NAFTA we have taken over with mass corporate farming across South America and still people look for fair trade, infrastructure investment and environmental standards.
He has no experience to back up his words, wouldn't you rather have one who capable, rather than one who is only trying to appease the public with words?
milldude1: You're so right. Obama must publicly speak out about his activities that helped a foreign government with their goals, and explain to us how it would be "xenophobia" if he had not served as a corrupt useful idiot for foreign political parties and possible agents of the Mexican government.
Please get him to sign on to the statement in the video description, so that his anti-xenophobia message will be loud and clear.
would you rather everyone ignore/throw out these marchers and add Mexico to the list of countries that hate us? or maybe it'd be nice to see some thoughtful diplomacy, fix immigration problems, and befriend our neighboring governments.
That's why Obama was there because he didn't have a problem with it. Anything illegal is obviously a bad thing, but the main problem is what to do with 11 million illegal immigrants? If the majority of those marchers are illegal, what can you do about it? Put them in 100's of jails that don't exist? How about put them on 1000s of buses that we don't have and is almost impossible to drive them back? Or how about we discuss ways to make them legal and stop more illegal immigrates from coming in?
provoko: There are alternatives besides mass deportations and a mass amnesty. One alternative is to enforce our laws now so that many or most illegal aliens return to their home countries. That will also cause many fewer to try to come here.
edpeepers: "enforcing our laws" doesn't mean mass deportions. It means increased workplace and border enforcement, none of which would require much more jail space than is currently available. And, with that increased enforcement many would decide to leave on their own, and many fewer people would try to come here illegally. If we got really serious, we could encourage Mexico to take their people back.
didn't they leave Mexico because they didn't like it? are you aware it's estimated that there around 20million illegal immigrants in the US? i believe it is impractical to think that enforcing our laws would fix this problem. there's no way we could "get really serious" enough to end this problem in the way you are suggesting.
Leaving aside his push for the war in Iraq, is it proper for Vice Pesident Dick Cheney to speak at a VFW conference in Chicago when two of the veterans on the stage marched in anti-war marches during the 1960s?
aikido7: your question is mostly incoherent, but it's worth pointing out that both Cheney and the vets - assuming your tale is accurate - are U.S. citizens.
What the video discusses is a U.S. Senator assisting the Mexican government to achieve its goals, and assisting possible proxies of that government.
Oh my God! Jesus, what can we do? Wait... Since Jesus counseled us to "love our enemies" and know that the Father "sends the sun to shine on both the good and the evil and sends rain on the righteous and unrighteous alike," I guess turning to him is a bad idea.
People need to grow up. The world is becoming a global economy. The isolationist stance that Ron Paul and his advocates propose will screw the United States over while the European Union takes off without us.
OBAMA wants to tighten the border in CANADA!!! WHAT IS HE THINKING?!?!?! MEXICO is the problem!! He only likes immigration because his father was african and got into america because of it!! DONT VOTE OBAMA!!!! Vote RON PAUL or something!!!
HILLARY and OBAMA are both members of the CFR, youtube it to find out why this is bad...
In fact, ALL 2008 presidential candidates from both DEMOCRATS and REPUBLICANS parties are CFR members working for the same big banking and military industrial complex factions that have an agenda for world domination
only Ron Paul isnt a CFR member and is for revolutionary change starting with the IRS and the Federal Reserve that view us all as working slaves...
The fact of the matter is this illegal immigrant problem is the fault of a govt who is unwilling to fix, but contain a problem until it gets out of hand. US has so 12million plus illegal immigrants. Should we round them up and send them to internment like we did to the Japanese during WWII? Of course not because History thought us better. Have them Identify themselves, make them pay a fine which would reimburse the average tax payer.
Sorry but this gentleman is inexperienced and couldn't hold his own with the leaders of the Free World. No flow to his speech and definatly no original thoughts. Talks as if his explanations are coming from an ear piece. He hasn't a clue how to run a NATION. Ron Paul for 2008! check him out.
furthermore, let us be honest with ourselves. the illegal immigrants are not taking jobs that americans do not want to do. we have homeless, undereducated, convicts, and many other american citizens who are not only capable, but willing to do those jobs. the only problem is that illegal immigrants are willing to work for lower wages. this part of the evolution of america to self destruct from within. ROME only lasted for so long.
Never the less, you are correct about one thing, all empires must inevitably fall. However, it won't be Mexican immigrants that are the cause in this case. You're lost in your own power and privilege and can't see the greater world around you. I feel sorry for you. We are all interconnected. Too bad you only see and feel for yourself and others like you.
Oh, where to begin... You are so truly ignorant my friend. I guess no one was there to teach you the truth, but rather there to feed you lies and hatred. Too bad you can't focus your attention on more important issues.
Learn to be a critical consumer of information. I get the sense that you eat up everything that the stupid people around you spoon feed you.
When those illegal immigrants are keeping lawns clean, cooking meals at restaurants, and doing other jobs that just help our economy, then yes, I'm more than willing to make it easier for them to keep helping American economy.
sure you say this now because you do not feel the effects of the illegals. but as sure as the sun shines through every window, when the illegal immigrants come to take food off you table, you will be singing a different tune; a tune in such a passionate voice, you will not know you were capable of singing such a song. today they eat from the black homes, tomorrow they take from yours.
I agree with Senator Obama on most everything he says. I also question every politician that would support illegal immigrants. Perhaps it is because I am surrounded by La Razas and have been hearing their rhetoric and hatred of the US for 10 years. I had planned to ask him about this, but I wonder if he would ever personally read a letter or email.
The real question is, how someone can create such as laughable and ridiculous video? Here's some hints when you do your next video: 1) Don't automatically assume the American people are children. 2) Stick to facts that are actually...uhhh...TRUE. 3) When you go for the kicker, make sure it reflects some semblance of rudimentary political knowledge. Hope this helped, good luck!
internetaddict: you said that something on the video isn't true, yet you didn't tell us what it is. Please feel free to do so. Of course, since all of the statements made on the video are extensively documented (with footnotes even), I'm not expecting much in the way of a reply. See the link in the video description for all the details and the footnotes.
NONE OF IT is true. If you want me to see some link called tinyurl/33om3g, you should see my webpage called tinyurl/33this_is_bullshit first.
I challenge anyone who watches this video to search for Barack Obama Illegal Immigration Parade in Google News. You will find zero, ZERO articles pertaining to this in Google News at all. This video is complete bullshit.
And if people want to attack Obama or any other candidate by completely reversing the truth and fabricating egregious, elaborate lies to the American people, they'll be disappointed. Because the American people are smarter than that. And their lies will only make people more sympathetic to their target.
internetaddict: You're pretty funny. Google news only contains articles for the past month or two; the video concerns the May 1, 2006 event. You can read about his participation at that illegal immigration march at tinyurl dot com/3bt8rs (PBS NewsHour), tinyurl dot com/2js5aa (news2chicago), or dozens of other sites. Good try though, and bear in mind that the full URL containing the dozen or so footnotes is in the video description.
Uh its called foregin polocy and diplomacy. It was a peacful protest. Its not like mexico sent troops into our country in a thinly veiled grab to seize natural resources.
If your last sentence was sarcastic, I congratulate you on seeing this issue clearly. The millions of their citizens that Mexico has sent us aren't armed, but they do form a power base inside our country for the Mexican government, and Mexico's former foreign minister even said the following a few years back: "We are already giving instructions to our consulates that they begin propagating militant activities -- if you will -- in their communities." Now, Barack Obama is helping them.
you really are an idiot arent you nomoreblatherdotcom, i mean you nothing about politics what-so-ever! you no nothing about the great barack obama's policies or anything! FUCK OFF YOU REDNECK!
I think that is outrageous! How can a U.S senator march in the streets with illegal aliens. Why is this even an issue. Are we going insane. and no I"M NOT A REDNECK SO DON'T EVEN GO THERE!
Obama is not a Muslim, but I still don't want the guy to be our president. The democrats will sell out America's identity in a second if it means more liberal voters.
I was shocked to see in the democrat debate that all but one of the candidates don't support English as the official language of the United States. Next thing you know, illegal Mexican immigrants getting free school from the democrats, will be demanding seperate classes taught in Spanish. And who's going to pay for that? Tax payers who think they should just learn to speack English if they want to get an educartion in American schools.
Why the hell would a Senator march in this thing? What was he trying to prove? That he has beliefs??? What an idiot! I knew Obama was crazy; he was actually dumb enough to think Americans have the right to stop the Iraq war! If this guy gets elected, oh GOD, watch out! There will be all these new words like "equality, accountability, responsi...." OMG! Those words are all WAY to big for me to understand. I'm scared of this guy!!!!
wow nothingsshocking, its all starting to make sense. Let me get this straight, Blacks bad, arabs bad, mexicans bad, gays im sure must be bad, jews probably bad....canadians??? how about them? help I need your wisdom. I think what you are saying is we should only trust white, conservative christians...probably not even the catholics right?.... Holy crap, I cant trust my self...now what?
Addition: World War III was started when our incompetent sap of a President invaded the wrong country- Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. Even your Fox News will tell you that.
YouTube "Fox News Lies" if you are so interested in opening your mind.
Aha. Another untruth from your pitfully ignorant mind: Obama is not a Muslim, rather, he is very much Christian. Fox News, I'm sure, told you that because his middle name is Hussein he must be Muslim. Thank you for proving your stupidity for all to see.
I'm done debating with an eighth-grader, and I am perhaps more fed up with your insolent bigotry.
Wake up call: in the "real world", adults do not use racial slurs or constant insult in mature debate. You cannot seem to wrap a single neuron around this concept.
I've given you ample opportunity to show signs of intelligence; you have shown none. Enjoy your life of blissful ignorance.
if you knew about the marches, you'd know that this was a march that was led by various organizers, many of which were citizens.
as for foreigners walking on the streets... not all of them. i'm a US citizen, but i have friends who aren't and are in a bad legal situation. i'm not going to turn my back on them. i doubt, if you were in the same position, you would turn your back on them.

There may not BE a "birth-record" of Obama because if he was born in Kenya then its not unusual that no records are kept of the (so-called minority). Unless things have changed. IF he was actually BORN in Hawaii....then some drunk doctor may have misplaced his birth certificate.

key word in the term "illegal alien" is illegal. theyre not supposed to be here. catch em at the border if you can, if they get by, catch them if the break the law, and ship em back. the others are more than welcome if they have a positive impact on our society. if they get picked up on charges, get them out.

I am going to quote from your website and video.
"please explain why you think it's appropriate for United States Senators to take part in events designed to change our laws"
It is appropriate for this to happen because United States senators happen to be the people in our country who make - and change - the laws. By listening to people's needs, a Senator is able to make decisions on behalf of the people.
penguinstudios 3 years ago 2
(continued)
"Is it proper for a United States senator to support foreign citizens marching in our streets, demanding that we change our laws?"
In fact, it is. Unless I misunderstood you, a foreign citizen refers to a citizen of the U.S. who moved here from another country. And, the citizens have a right to request change in laws and to march in the streets, granted to them by a little thing called the First Amendment.
penguinstudios 3 years ago 4
(continued)
If you are referring to these people not as citizens of the United States but as citizens of another country, I believe it is good practice for a Senator to interact with foreign people. It gives them experience and trust with foreign relations. There is nothing, I repeat nothing, wrong with supporting this event.
If you have any questions about this post, please reply. I would appreciate a reply without insults.
penguinstudios 3 years ago 2
I feel the silly need to point out a minor discrepancy: it was an immigrant rally, not an 'illegal immigrant' rally. A state senator made an appearance on behalf of 200,000 of his states' citizens to help call for reform of the current system of immigration; which the vast majority of Americans know is horrendously flawed. I don't see him hiding his face from this. Nor should he.
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
Vyndettagirl: it was a pro-illegal immigration rally because what they were rallying for was giving rights to illegal aliens that they aren't currently entitled to. While many of those attending weren't illegal aliens, what they wanted only applies to illegal aliens. And, in fact, if what they wanted had been passed into law it would have had a disastrous impact on current and other future legal immigrants because there are only so many immigrants that can be processed at one time.
NoMoreBlatherDotCom 3 years ago
That processing is the very issue -- our immigration system is an abysmal mess. But you're absolutely right -- terribly inappropriate for a Senator to point that out, or to do anything that might draw any attention at all to a pressing social issue ... so very wrong...
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
Yep, but him hiding his driver's licenses for illegals stance(sticking Hillary on same point/debate), is okay. My bad, I forgot he helped ACORN with moter voter back in the day, votes. Deal with those who break the law, we could use personnel to fix the broken system of entry.
The costs in medical, schools, social services, housing, law enforcement, crimes, prisons, etc. are in no way offset by the jobs they hold for growing alien families.
Jobs for citizens, no slavery by bosses.
averitas 3 years ago
Vendetta- i totally agree. I dont know who I will end up voting for in the end but I just understand why its so hard for people to understand the issue at hand. People sure like to "twist" the truth to serve their own intentions. The immigration rally was just that- nothting more. If Obama or McCain for that matter become president want to know how they intend to solve this problem. Why should he be crucified for supporting an immigration reform system (in AMerica) that just might work??
rpmess 3 years ago
bullshit..you know damn good and well it was an ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION rally...who the fuck do you think youre fooling besides yourself..get fuckin real.
4eyedCyclopes 3 years ago
Wow. So eloquently put.
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
(continued)
To glance at a roster like that and slap an "illegal" label on it is akin to saying "I've little to no clue of the scope of this".
Penguinstudios was spot on in saying there isn't a negative note in the world to be played in anyone's direction for supporting this event.
And to pose the question as it's been posed here -- as though you have a smoking gun in the evidence room -- is a might bit on the amusing side.
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
please just stop it..in this day and age any talk about immigration rights or reform is nothing more than politicians and corporations(the ACLU and religious folks fall under these categories as well)doing all they can to get a many ILLEGAL ALIENS in this country as possible..Its all really a trade issue..Cheap Mexican labor is quite the commodity.
4eyedCyclopes 3 years ago
... you're quite insane, aren't you? Yes, any talk of immigration rights is all a giant corporation conspiracy theory. For instance, when a migrant worker (who's family lives in my neighborhood) overstayed his visa in order to feed his family after his wife fell ill with cancer and was deported; that was stage one of this vast plan. And when his daughter was placed in intensive care after a car accident, that was stage two -- we'll call it motive.
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
(continued)
Next, as slated, he sneaks back in to see his daughter, making him illegal, so that must be the dramatic conclusion-o-the-plot, yes?
Of course, then there was that part where he was arrested... That was a year ago. He's still in prison. And his daughter died of her injuries while he was there.
So when I petition the government to say that he should have had a comprehensive way to enter this nation legally from the outset, does that make me part of the scheme, oh wise one?
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
what the hell does that have to do with an entire political and economic scheme...ok, ok, ok..let me ask you one question..do you think that the politicians and corporate folks who are fighting for illegal aliens give one flying fuck about that man, his sick wife or his daughter. They may care about him because he can still work but his wife and daughter are damaged goods..Illegal aliens are voluntar slaves..period.
4eyedCyclopes 3 years ago
..."voluntar"? Spelling not your strong suit?
Missed the point there, eh? The point (for your clarity and consideration) is that these marches, these protests, are led by people who have something to say -- and a reason beyond corporate gain for saying it.
As I said before, our immigration system is in desperate need of an overhaul. If you disagree with that, as you seem to be by throwing hysterics over this event -- then you've a bit of awareness to grow into yet.
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
(contintued)
And if you truly believe that the notion of reform is "nothing more than politicians and corporations" scurrying for cheap labor -- then you've no awareness at all.
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
oh, how clever..the "y" button on my keyboard gets stuck and that makes me stupid...why should there be immigration reform?? millions of foreigners break the law by sneaking into the country so we're supposed to change the law?...wheres the sense in that shit? We've got enough people in this country that cant take care of themselves..we do not need a whole new group coming from another country, having 4 or 5 anchor babies that U.S citizens wiil have to take care of.
4eyedCyclopes 3 years ago
Oh no, it's not the keyboard malfunction that makes you dumb. But at least there's something amusing about it in that form.
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
what have i said that would lead you to believe im dumb..everything i said have said is fact.

Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
you've yet to respond directly and specifically to a single point that ive made..if you disagree with anything i've said then use your brain and tell me why you disagree.

Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
(continued) "Illegal" vs. "Groups beyond". "Corporate conspiracy" vs. "Real people in genuine situations". "Political concern" vs. "Skewing of the actual purpose". See there? And once you take it all in you really get the overall scope of your failure to actually make a point, now don't you? It's okay, don't feel too silly, it happens to the best of us. Screaming vapid slogans and erroneous ideas that have no ingredient other than middle-aged fury doesn't make your point.
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
(continued) It makes you blind to the mountain of situations that this topic encompasses -- which, from the beginning, has been MY point. Nine-tenths of what you've said hasn't warranted a response, but I've responded nonetheless, even while knowing that a mind which so hungrily clings to rage will automatically dispel any notions that challenge it. You're right in that I didn't bother to step on the condescending xenophobia (that borders on racism) inherent in every word you've written.
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
(continued) Or to point out the relatively obvious notion that the overall key to solving every ongoing problem is prevention (I'll hang out while the lightbulb comes on for you on this one "Oh yeah, the reform of the process itself!"). And if you're desperate for me to continue, I will be more than happy to do so. I've nothing but time. Or if you get that you and I might as well be of a different species where this topic is concerned...
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
(conclusion) ... then you can tell me to "fuck off" just one last time for kicks, I'll tell you that "You have the IQ of a toaster and the foresight of a sea mollusk", and we can leave it at that.
Vyndettagirl 3 years ago
i beleive that foreign citizens should have the right to free speech in our country. i beleive that no matter what country you are born in, you have the right to try to persuade american citizens to question their own beleifs and see a larger picture.
when all knowledge can be easily obtained the people will at least know the challenges ahead of them to bring world peace. and a peaceful demonstration rally is acceptable to me.

so whether we decide to ship "them" out in a truck (becuz they are less than human)or decide to make citizenship a little more attainable- its gotta be solved- right?

TMum1988 3 years ago
Man,I'm so glad that my generation finally gets to take part in this election, because so many people in past generation are not open for new ideas. Allowing illegal immigrants/legal residents(who were a large portion of the crowd you see in the video) to become citizens will allow for more taxes to be taken and make sure that everyone has car insurance and many other things that will protect american citizens. Have you ever been part of a hit and run? probably not, but i know people who have
TMum1988 3 years ago
I've always been puzzeled by why the Mexican government can't fix their economy and offer their people more. I guess it's complicated.
linj1958 3 years ago
it is extremely complicated there is more than just fixing an entire countries economy when there are so many problems... they cant just say ok today were gonna just have a better economy and be done with it. we are lucky that we live in a country where we do have a better economy that can support us and truthfully if it werent for immigrants our economy would be ruined because of all the taxes that they pay
umphreak 3 years ago
I'm sure it is complicated, but they obviously don't have good advisors. In the 1980's several countries in South American, including Bolivia and Chilie, turned their economies around by switching from a planned economy to free market economy. Governments just don't want to give up thier power is the problem

Tarayani: You're confused over external pressure vs. foreign governments and political parties meddling in our internal affairs inside the U.S.
However, since you don't see a problem with that, you should get Obama to sign on to it. Ask him to sign the statement in the video description.
NoMoreBlatherDotCom 4 years ago
If we're going to nitpick, we as the United States engage in much more of the latter in countries around the world and need to stop whining about it when it happens to us. Second, you know as well as I, unless you've been twisted around by the right-wing spin-machine, that Obama supported the march because he supports a humane solution to the immigration crisis, and not a xenophobic one. Blaming Obama for Mexican politicians happening to be involved (if they were) is bad logic.

How about we ask the candidates what position they'll hold against powerful lobbyists from the agricultural, fuel, telecom and pharmaceutical industries?

The 1st amendment does NOT say that freedom of expression on American soil is to be reserved for Americans alone but for everyone indiscriminately. It is sad that you invested at least 2 hours to make this video while it would take you 2 minutes to read the bill of rights instead.
2 thumbs down
JayDeWinter 4 years ago
JayDeWinter: even illegal aliens do have some Constitutional rights. However, we U.S. citizens have even more rights, including the right not to have hundreds of thousands of foreign citizens marching in our streets under their home countries' flags and making demands. Almost everyone recognizes that as an extremely dangerous situation.
Barack Obama is basically just a form of a modern-day collaborateur.
NoMoreBlatherDotCom 4 years ago
Rights don't come in quantities of "more" or "less", especially according to the bill. As for Sen. Obama "supporting" any protesters, the man just happened to be in accord that a potential reform should be in order, unless you've seen him there, waving a mexican flag. As for our "right" as you placed it... well... just read what you wrote and tell me how it looks yourself :) Semiliteracy is indeed worse than complete ignorance.
JayDeWinter 4 years ago 4

Maybe if the US hadn't depleted the resources of those foreign peoples countries causing hyperinflation through our unfair trade policies they wouldn't be here looking for work and paying some taxes while trying to pay for their families health and education back home. Everyone in the US has rights while they are here because they are human not because they are American. "American" isn't some xenophobic nationalistic group of the all powerful who get to dictate global policy.
berlundy 4 years ago
Mexico is NOT a depleted nation, and the US is not the one exploiting IT! Our elected officials pledge to protect & defend US laws & US citizens. If they can't, won't or do not wish to do this they have no place in US government.
99romeos 4 years ago
Then what explains Bush? Talk about no place is US government. The bill of rights has been subverted, presidential signing statements aren't even a house hold dinner topic yet and people are still falling for the same type of foreign policy BS with Romney winning in Michigan. We need to wise up to the fact that the world is a network of peoples who need to support each other and work together not unfairly exploit and arrogantly intimidate and rule over.
berlundy 4 years ago
And you are wrong about Mexico. We exploited Mexico in the 70s and 80s. Our unfair manufacturing processes which were cheap there are the same misguided waste dumping price meeting practices American corporations use now in China for cheap outsourced goods. Now with NAFTA we have taken over with mass corporate farming across South America and still people look for fair trade, infrastructure investment and environmental standards.

This is exactly the small-minded xenophobia Obama will address. Obama '08.
milldude1 4 years ago
milldude1: You're so right.

Leaving aside that laws are meant to be changed as societies evolve over decades and centuries, can we change them?
Horseface18 4 years ago
That's why Obama was there because he didn't have a problem with it. Anything illegal is obviously a bad thing, but the main problem is what to do with 11 million illegal immigrants? If the majority of those marchers are illegal, what can you do about it? Put them in 100's of jails that don't exist? How about put them on 1000s of buses that we don't have and is almost impossible to drive them back? Or how about we discuss ways to make them legal and stop more illegal immigrates from coming in?
provoko 4 years ago
provoko: There are alternatives besides mass deportations and a mass amnesty. One alternative is to enforce our laws now so that many or most illegal aliens return to their home countries. That will also cause many fewer to try to come here.
NoMoreBlatherDotCom 4 years ago
Um, so you want to "enforce our laws" and put them in nonexistent jails or bus them back? Did you even read the guy's post?
edpeepers 4 years ago
edpeepers: "enforcing our laws" doesn't mean mass deportions. It means increased workplace and border enforcement, none of which would require much more jail space than is currently available. And, with that increased enforcement many would decide to leave on their own, and many fewer people would try to come here illegally. If we got really serious, we could encourage Mexico to take their people back.
NoMoreBlatherDotCom 4 years ago
didn't they leave Mexico because they didn't like it? are you aware it's estimated that there around 20million illegal immigrants in the US? i believe it is impractical to think that enforcing our laws would fix this problem. there's no way we could "get really serious" enough to end this problem in the way you are suggesting.

Leaving aside his push for the war in Iraq, is it proper for Vice Pesident Dick Cheney to speak at a VFW conference in Chicago when two of the veterans on the stage marched in anti-war marches during the 1960s?
aikido7 4 years ago
aikido7: your question is mostly incoherent, but it's worth pointing out that both Cheney and the vets - assuming your tale is accurate - are U.S. citizens.
What the video discusses is a U.S. Senator assisting the Mexican government to achieve its goals, and assisting possible proxies of that government.

Have them Identify themselves, make them pay a fine which would reimburse the average tax payer.

furthermore, let us be honest with ourselves. the illegal immigrants are not taking jobs that americans do not want to do. we have homeless, undereducated, convicts, and many other american citizens who are not only capable, but willing to do those jobs. the only problem is that illegal immigrants are willing to work for lower wages. this part of the evolution of america to self destruct from within. ROME only lasted for so long.
joninjones11 4 years ago
Never the less, you are correct about one thing, all empires must inevitably fall. However, it won't be Mexican immigrants that are the cause in this case. You're lost in your own power and privilege and can't see the greater world around you. I feel sorry for you. We are all interconnected. Too bad you only see and feel for yourself and others like you.

sure you say this now because you do not feel the effects of the illegals. but as sure as the sun shines through every window, when the illegal immigrants come to take food off you table, you will be singing a different tune; a tune in such a passionate voice, you will not know you were capable of singing such a song. today they eat from the black homes, tomorrow they take from yours.

Hope this helped, good luck!
internetaddict 4 years ago
internetaddict: you said that something on the video isn't true, yet you didn't tell us what it is. Please feel free to do so. Of course, since all of the statements made on the video are extensively documented (with footnotes even), I'm not expecting much in the way of a reply. See the link in the video description for all the details and the footnotes.
NoMoreBlatherDotCom 4 years ago
NONE OF IT is true. If you want me to see some link called tinyurl/33om3g, you should see my webpage called tinyurl/33this_is_bullshit first.
I challenge anyone who watches this video to search for Barack Obama Illegal Immigration Parade in Google News. You will find zero, ZERO articles pertaining to this in Google News at all. This video is complete bullshit.
internetaddict 4 years ago
And if people want to attack Obama or any other candidate by completely reversing the truth and fabricating egregious, elaborate lies to the American people, they'll be disappointed. Because the American people are smarter than that. And their lies will only make people more sympathetic to their target.
internetaddict 4 years ago
internetaddict: You're pretty funny.

BastardJack 4 years ago
If your last sentence was sarcastic, I congratulate you on seeing this issue clearly. The millions of their citizens that Mexico has sent us aren't armed, but they do form a power base inside our country for the Mexican government, and Mexico's former foreign minister even said the following a few years back: "We are already giving instructions to our consulates that they begin propagating militant activities -- if you will -- in their communities." Now, Barack Obama is helping them.
