Why are you using this cheap plywood instead of a higher grade aircraft grade plywood or MDF now it has all the loose pieces and tears which make for an ugly model. they look so nice but unattractive. Great work though and I need me to get one of these machines and amaze my friends.
MDF isn't high grade... it's crap especially for kids toys. My goal with this is "proof of concept" - you can make it in whatever material you wish after you get the plans... I want to show things as they are... if you want to see a perfect model after sanding etc... just look at the 3D representation - that's what it's there for. The plans will become available as the 3D assembly instructions are completed for them. Look forward to seeing your version using expensive wood.
@i3ds Lol so MDF is crap for kids toys but what you deem this a suitable right? and don't get all high and mighty on me telling me to use expensive woods since on your site you sell mere mock ups from random items for ridiculous prices only because it's laser cut. I asked a normal question nothing that would imply disrespect but I see that was just a waste of time sorry to ask.
Let me try this again, the model you see in the videos are to show that it can be done, they are firewood after they are complete because the model I cut with the ShopBot isn't for children, it's for me. MDF has no structural strength, longevity nor does it make for decent firewood.
I think my laser stuff is actually quite cheap... CNC is a cheaper alternative than laser by a large factor. I think you just misunderstood the purpose behind these videos.
