Love the ending of the song how they fuse the different beats. Grohls kick bass sounds like a canon too when layered with JPJ's bass groove. Wish they would come somewhere close enough that I could see them.

I think you could throw anyone onto bass and drums here and it would make little difference, Josh Homme is ruling the stage. This could be QOTSA, like the first 6 or 7 on the album.

I agree with u about Dave and the drums, but JPJ does loads more than bass, he's probably one of the most diverse instrumentalists of today, and this really is quite differant to QOTSA stuff

To be fair, we've been spoiled by QOTSA as Grohl has written a lot of drum lines for them. It's difficult to comprehend just how good a drummer he is until you see how much he dominates the stage in a video like this. If you compare this drum performance with that of most other drummers, Grohl actually makes himself a noticable tangent of the group, which is hard when you're stuck behind the kit. JPJ is and always was a God. You can't deny how much he rocks out.

JPJ is not playing slide bass as some of you seem to think. He's also a fine guitarist and plays a mean slide guitar. Alan is covering bass on this tune using some kind of Hofner type bass.
