the heartbreaking work, broke my heart, and made me laugh, uncontrollably actually, so i wouldn't say its anything like witty arrogance. Its a memoir, its about him, its about how we all think we are great, or should, and how we want people to know that we are great. because we are all great, and we should all know that we are great

"a heartbreaking work of staggering genius" is a book anyone could write. is wasn't heartbreaking, it wasn't much of a piece of work, and it damn sure wasn't genius. It is an example of post- modern narcissistic writing that reflects only witty arrogance.
wow you missed the entire point of the book. it's the complete opposite of what you said. it's an attack; an assault on "post modern narcissistic writing" even though it uses the same style.
if we say your manuscript is brilliant and the world was foolish not to publish it, will you be less bitter toward Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius?
Witty arrogance doesn't earn a writer the title of Pulitzer finalist. You obviously saw only the surface of the story, and failed to recognize its themes. Eggers's thesis wasn't "I'm the best because I made it through this." It was more along the lines of, "Great compassion and the underlying good in every human being can overcome great tragedy."
Egger is great. Unfortunately, I think that's Kamala Harris in the b/g. She's a worthless sod.

@NOaadye
cool, go publish a critically accliamed novel, since it's so easy. Oh, right, you're too bright and special for narcissism of that degree.
