Thank you so much! The Mark III Target is my first pistol and I was having a hard time doing the disassembly and reassembly with a mere light mallet stroke. Your video was just what I needed.
This is the first video that actually shows what it takes to reassemble this gun when it is still "new" and not broke in. Thanks for sharing. If only I had seen this video and your video on disassemble, I would have had a much easier time. Thanks so much!!!!
@Pistolmarkify - I do really appreciate that. I made the videos because I did NOT see one on my specific model. I know the bull barrel is very cool but I wanted to see MINE... so I was inspired to make these videoson the Mark 3 Standard!!
@gbounit thanks for this video.........after looking around on youtube.....yours was the only one that helped the most.....sticking the pin through the top to align was the key........thanks much bro !
It was my new favorite gun when I shot it, and I was ready to throw it off a bridge when I tried to clean it. I think I would have if I hadn't found this video. This little .22 is more complicated than an M240. I hope having to beat it into submission with a hammer is a sign of tight factory tolerances and the complexity doesn't lead to little parts breaking all the time. Great job on the vid! I went through quite a few until I found this one!
@thefirespectrum - Thanks, and good thing you did not throw it off a bridge! Yes, this pistol does have a unique break down and assembly. But once you know how, this is a firearm you want to always have around, both for fun, and "just in case" your primary firearms are out of ammo or something. Again, thank you for your kind compliments!!!
Argh. I have been working on this a couple of hours now and it ticks me off that the gun is winning1 Every time I get as far as getting the pin to clink in and try to push it down into place, the pin comes out of the hole in top. It's like the hook on the pin asemble isn't hitting in the right pace to catch in order to close down. I am just about to give up. This is the first time I have taken it down and I may take it back to the store...
@cdogsgo82 - without seeing your issue I cannot help much except to say take it all apart, clean with some Ballistol (or your cleaner of choice) and maybe wipe everything down and start over. But inspect the parts to see if anything is kinked or bent or something. I can only say that if you do exactly as the video says, it should work. If not, I suspect one of the parts is damaged or something. Let me know what you do and how you fare.
I was having the exact same issue. In my case the hammer wasn't fully forward when I was inserting the main spring housing strut assembly. gbounit demonstrates this in the video, you have to put in a magazine, PULL THE TRIGGER then push the hammer forward. The hammer disapears. THEN you can insert the main spring housing strut assembly.
You're ability to thoroughly touch on all aspects of all of the little idiosyncrasies associated with a new MKIII are spot on! Excellent job. After spending some time with my dremel deburring all of the barrel to receiver areas and polishing my assembly pin and bolt, my MKIII comes apart and goes back together like butter. In fact, my 13 year old Daughter can field strip and reassemble my MKIII (Hers if you ask her..lol) in under a minute. Again..Great Video!! Cheers from Indiana!!
@ZippoVarga - That is one of the kindest comments I received, THANK YOU! I recently purchased a Dremel too, and I guess I ought to do what you did! Thanks for watching and for the comments! I really appreciate it!
I know I know... I can take a LONG time explaining stuff, but that is how I am. At the very least something in my vids helped you and I really appreciate that. So I thank YOU for watching and for putting in a positive comment!
@hayforkgeorge - OK it is days later and that "GOOD GRIEF" comment just slays me to tears and I have NO idea why that is SO funny to me!!! I have a very strrange sense of humor...
i have a new ruger mark III that I have caught hell disassembling and reassembling actually could not reassemble have been in the military and have handled many weapons this is the first one that has given me hell but thanks to your videos i have been able to get it done and it works none of the other videos I have watched did me any good
@flashbuck1 - Like a broken record, I thank you for the comments and amreally glad that this particular video is beneficial to so many. I keep thinking more and more that the one guy who had a completely negative video of this firearm (it was broken) was at fault 100%. I am glad I am patient and that I did not force things and get lost reassembling this thing. Thanks for your awesome comments! Oh, and fo watching...!
Thanks so much. your video was the only one that I could use to get my gun back together. Even the Ruger factory video missed a few points. Thaiks so much. Jack
@azjack827 - Thanks so much for your comments...! I am a total nerd, but comments like this make my day, because I like helping other people. I sound like a broken record, but I am really glad my videos are useful to people.
You helped me through a difficult situation with these 2 videos. I subscribed to your channel and I am looking forward to your future videos. Thank you and god bless.
@patriotim12 - I am glad this helped. I am amazed that my goofy videos help people and I am grateful! I have been busy with fooball (I am a high school and youth football official) and have been lazy about videos, but I do have good ideas. Thnk you for the kind comments and for watching!
@robdog8895 - I am so very glad my video helped you! I liked making the video and I tend to be patient and move only when I am sure... hence the long detailed vids on my channel. You are so welcome and have fun with your RUGER!
Great! Two hints I found particularly important 1) testing the alignment by placing pin from top first and 2) Lifting hammer completely my inserting mag and holding trigger while getting that little extra lift. Thanks
@westgl2006 - That is so very appreciated! I am glad to put out videos that are helpful and informative! Wow I appreciate the kind comments, and hope my other vids are just as useful. I am overdue for more vids, so stay tuned...
I just watched a half dozen other videos on reassemblying my new Mark III, including Ruger's. Yours was the best. I actually put my gun back together in 3-4 minutes after following your instructions. Great video. Thank you for taking the time to make and post your instructions.
@silvioam - Wow, I am so grateful that you liked my vid that much! I like having fun and being goofy on video, but I DO like putting out legit info. I am very pleased you found my vid useful! Posts like yours motivate me! THANK YOU!!!
Hey hey! Really helpful! Had a new mk3, fired great, got dirty, starting missing feeds and jamming, went to clean it and got stuck. Your video fix it for me. Thx!
@mebenot - I am very glad that my video was of use to you! I just like to be informative from my point of view. Yeah, you do not want to take apart a firearm adn risk breaking it upon reassembly, like another person did to his RUGER. I swear it was operator error on his part. Thanks for the kind comments and for watching!
Great videos going to purchase one myself tomorrow. What are your thoughts on the mkiii standard six inch barrel? Also I cant read your cut in other videos curios what mc you belong to?
@MrProphet1989 - Sorry for the late reply... btwn my kids flying back to Illinois and catching up with work, I have not had a chance to reply to you. I think the 6" barrel is good, and probably more accurate. I chose the 4-1/2 strictly on survival and field application. Shorter barrel + smaller magazine base plate = better storage. Other models are more accurate and more refined for their applicatons, but I did not purchase based on making the Olympic team or not, or being a pro marksman.
@trencher7 - Haha! I am happy it helped! I did the disassembly and reassembly several times to get used to it and figure out all the nuances of properly getting it back together in WORKING order.
