  • What a drum solo! What a drummer! I saw Sweet Live at the Apollo, Glasgow, say around 1973. They were amazing. Mick Tucker did a drum solo, which was a combination of him Live on stage & a pre-recorded video of him in his home. The solo went from Live on stage, then lights out, then to the video, then lights out, then back Live on stage, & so on. Very innovative for the time. The support act were a band called Salvation, which starred Midge Ure. What a night.

  • Cor, this is one of my favourite tunes (from the Frank Sinatra flick of the same name). Good on the Sweet for tackling it.

  • The thing was no BRIAN no Sweet simple

  • this is fucking HEAVY for the 70's

  • WAYYYYY ahead of his time.

  • WOW...I'M 32 AND WAS SURE BARRY ADAMSAON CAME OUT WITH SUCH A GREAT THING

  • Puuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrfect////

  • This music is written by Elmer Bernstein for the 1955 movie "The Man With the Golden Arm" starring Frank Sinatra as a heroin addict who has a dream of becoming a drummer. Good movie, fantastic music, and there is a trailer here on YT.

  • one of the best

  • His quality is the kind that when other good drummers hear him playing, they stop talking and crane their necks to find out " who the fuk is kickin' ".

  • This tune is cool! and Jet Harris does this track also. Not herd Sweets version until now

  • Some guys have all the luck, why oh why didn't these guys become a worldwide success is a complete mistery to me and as far as I can see to many others, someone else quoted "So much for the British record industry", their "Give us a wink" albums is absolutely solid, and "desolation boulevard " is very powerful stuff, one does shake one's head and wonders.

  • Wow always liked Sweet when i was a kid due to Blockbuster, but did not realise they cooked like this thanks for the post, learn new stuff everyday..

  • he was a rare breed ahead of his time........\m/ r i p one of the drum gods

  • Not a piece, this is a master of art...

  • Inesquivable la pieza; en esta versión la magnífica ejecución de guitarra eléctrica y, desde luego, la batería, la mejor de todos los tiempos (incluye africanos...). Nunca olviden reconocer la trompeta, es lo que la hace sexy...

  • I grabbed his drumstick at a concert in Odense in 1974. He threw a drumstick out to the audience after this number, and I grabbed it. It was the greatest day of my 12-year life, at that time. Wonder were I put it?

  • The biggest Drummer on Earth. Das schafft Heute garantiert keiner mehr außer auf synth.

  • Zeppelin had Moby Dick. the Sweet had the Man with the Golden Arm

  • Mick Tucker was an awesome drummer highlighted by his prowess on this track. You can hear a live version of this on the 'Strung Up' album, recorded in the states if i recall?

  • There is live version, from the "Strung up" album.

  • Who is the lead singer in the bigining???

  • I am certain it is Andy!

  • Lucky me I heard this live 1975 in Stockholm!

  • the voice in the beginning is just killing, no one could repeat that.

    Cant stop listening it!

    SWEET forever

  • Desolation Boulevard My all time favorite album with Level headed. But i like this album the best.

  • Didnt Jet Harris who used to be in the Shaddows do this first?

  • This song was sort the highlight of the Sweet concerts in the Seventies, Mick Tucker playing the drums against a film shown of himself drumming on a big silver screen...

  • If you remember there was him playing drums on either side of him on the screens and above he play timpanies

  • one of the best drum solos... EVER !!! ;)

    best wishes from cologne- germany

    music is ma drug!

  • Love it, deserves recognition as a great drummer.

  • Best Rock Band Ever.....RIP MICK

  • Damn, this band could do everything GREAT!!!

  • Quality musicians, really. Never got the kudos cos of the wig wam bam type nonsense.

  • what are you going to do today

  • It's not gay, it's just 1970's. Mick the sticks, best drummer ever!

  • very underated he was, just like the whole band! They deserved so much better!

  • luv it!!! thanx 4 putting this up mick we luv you

  • mick you rock mate :) you just do your thing like in this song .. i have learned a lot from you my mate bless you

  • I grew up in the hate drum solos era but this is amazing.

  • Which album is this off of? I've always thought his drumming was a "cut above the rest"....at that time the big names were Paice & Palmer...Mick was right up there with them....

  • It's from their album called "Desolation Boulevard". A great album, my favorite by Sweet, indeed!

  • My first album! I was 10 years when this album came. Great!

  • @RocknRollDisgrace

In the UK it was on the album Sweet Fanny Adams

  • @RocknRollDisgrace its not from there.. what are u talking about?

  • @kittiesgomow33

The song "man with the golden arm" is from the album: Desolation Boulevard. The original Desolation Boulevard. Not the one relaesed in USA, wich is a mix of Desolation Boulevard and Sweet F.A, wich was released in 1973 in Europe.

  • @priffipruff hmm ic.. then i guess i have the other one...

  • absolutely fantastic piece of work. clearly shows that mick tucker is the best drummer EVER. RIP Mick

  • I LOVE THIS VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MICK TUCKER = greatest rock drummer of all time... clearly evidenced in this!! Glad someone finally put it up!!!
