hey i'm using the axiom61 with fl studios, i fixed the latency issue but i'm having volume issues. When i press a key or a pad the volume is really low, do you know how i can fix this, and where is the edit button on the keyboard? plz help, thanks
Hello! I have a big problem with the latency with Ableton and the Axiom61. I play piano mainly and use the Axiom to trigger some backup tracks and samples, but no matter what I do, I can't get the piano sound on time, it's always delayed =( Any idea that could help?
@almahardcore latency may be improved with an ASIO sound driver. Try ASIO4all its free and works alright. I use the external presonus ASIO soundcard in my setup
@fullsolo, dont ever buy axiom brand, i have axiom 61, i spent lot of money for that and within a year keys has broken.. now almost all the keys are broken. still i didnt find the place to repair because no body repair it because they dont know this brand. i'm 100% sure this brand is one of the worse brand ever.
Thank you for the demo man. I started producing Industrial Metal. You probably wouldnt know, but could you recomend any software for my Axiom that would have industrial sounds?
@Wesley77Small Hmmm, well ya COULD learn to make them yourself, you know, read up on signal processing and synthesizer basics, instead of expecting to be a musician right outta the box. But the fact alone that you said, "...software for my Axiom that would have 'blank-blank' sounds", regardless of making no sense, kinda tells that you won't be using much, if any, original material. So oh well...
@Wesley77Small axiom can play pretty much any VST (the virtual instruments) for industrial i would probably use NI Massive and Reason but its best to make your own sounds in any synth vst
Please, right out of the box, am I gonna be able to plug and play? I see people assigning keys, etc. I wonder if the factory CDs enable this thing to be played right on. Is that simple? Which sounds (piano, organ, drums) are immediately available, if any? Thank you. Also, does it play/control any instruments software?

I have axiom 61 but i dont like this. because its complicated and very poor functioning. i can say one of the worse programn and function of any keyboard.i encourage any one not to buy this Axiom 61.
I had one concern and that was if one could assign different patches to a controller and that was answered in the video. Can I connect two or three controllers?
this is awesome! i've been looking at axiom 61 & 61 pro, no previous experience with music production but I get so many ideas run through my head at night that I really need to start putting them down. Is a lot of technical knowledge on the hardware and music production techniques required to make something of decent quality? and with software such as abelton, cubase etc can you make tracks of studio quality that could be released for sale? Thanks
i saw that you had an external sound card... is that necessary apart from the one already in my laptop. and are there any less expensive options for software or does it come with like ableton lite of pro tools LE? thanks for the tutorial. you have motivated me more to finally go out and buy one! :)
I HAVE ABELTON LIVE 7.0.6 HAVENT USED IT BUT ONCE OR TWICE I KNOW ALOT OF DJS THAT LOVE IT THO HEY IS THERE A WAY TO EXPORT THE DRUMS TO WAVE FILES SO I COULD USE IN CUBASE 5
I would love to know how you get your midis to work with it, and where did you get sounds, I NEEEED some. Also Loved this vid bro... im gonna go get one of these now, would love to know how exactly you set it to auto record and loop. And and how many loopable tracks can u Have?
I know it's a midi controller, so where do you get your sounds from to play them through the midi? I want to get one but would love to know a good place to get sounds.
@4Seasonfilms Ableton is expensive, but so are all of the rest. If you want to check it out before you buy, with full editing and saving capabilities, Ableton has a 30 day demo that's free @ ableton.com
Some of the m-audio external sound cards come with a demo of live, which has some minimal instruments and capabilities It was like $199 for the sound card I bought and it came with the Ableton lite software. Hint... watch the online demos because otherwise. live's system is a little confusing.
@RealRapMusic187 The sounds are generated by Virtual Instruments, so they are really sensitive, the controller sends velocity that appears on the screen as 1-127, but it REALLY depends on what software or samples you are using. Some sample triggering software allows for velocity sensitive triggering, using envelopes or multi-sample kits
I've heard some comments about the touching response of the keys is not so good, is it true??? I wanna buy it, but I need to know this because a play a psr 202 and months ago I played a m-audio oxygen (I know it isn't the same keyboard) but I noticed that the key response was bad, even my yamaha was better, I hope you can help me with that doubt.
@camtheman499videos Depends on what kindda music you do.If you do hip-hop/rap i would if i was on a budget.i want all 5 octives though lol. There is an octive button on there just in case you want to go higher.
Hey i get everything to work and im using preset 18 for ableton but when i set up my impulse on the pads they are on the keys too how do you seperate pads from key sound please help my only problem and a very little one.. I have some tricks to share also in exchange.
How did you get it to work with ableton!?!? i've had my axion 61 for a little while, and i'm finding it IMPOSSIBLE! my computer when i go to the midi sync in the prefrences, it doesn't have anything in the input section, and then i can't get the computer to pick up the board too now! are you able to help?
I bought an axiom 61 thinking it would be easy to get started. nothing i do will make it make any sound. I have ableton which came with it, but i cant figure that out either. i feel so stupid and no one is any help e__e i guess i have a $300 paperweight now.
@arcanejazz Ableton does have a pretty steep learning curve. The axiom 61 is just a midi controller - so it doesn't make any sounds itself - but it's still very powerful. You'll need to familiarize yourself with an audio software package like ableton, garageband for PC's etc. Ableton's one of my fave's and should have come with your Axiom - you should check out the ableton website and you can find a lot of good tutorial videos for getting you started! :)
Dude, Im thinking of getting the pro version of this, with hyper control. I wanna know if this axiom 61 is worth it? Do the keys feel nice? and is the software "Enigma" it comes with, any good? If not what would be better to use? I wanna ask someone who looks as if they know what they're on about (you) xD thanks dude, Im subbing BTW
@Mattbellmay Hey man - I just got my hands on an Axiom 61 and I absolutely love it. I'm a pianist, and I don't think you can ever really 'replicate' the feeling of a piano, but the Axiom 61 just feels VERY nice.. good weight. If you want to see what I"ve been doing with it just look for me on youtube (digitallush)
the Axiom 61 comes with Ableton? or did u buy it separately?... and why did u choose this specific keyboard?... i need to know because ill probably buy one...but im not totally convinced yet
Yes it has 64 bit support I have windows 7 and i use Ableton 8. The Axiom Series have a internal midi map so that with most program it maps automatic or assignin is a snap you just move a knob and it assigns. He Prob forgot to mention that also you can download a free Enigma program for it at m audios website it has lots of presets. Once you learn this you will see its so easy and not hard at all plus you can save your own presets in enigma or your software. :)
yes it does have 64 bit suppoert the difference is with the pro u have the proper piano feel to it and the standard one is not smmooth so it doesnt have a piano feel to it and when u press a key on a pro it doesnt make a sound of plastic keys hitting each other the pro is relly great and has a nicer feel and also is like a proper traditional piano i suggets u buy pro easier and more fun wya making a beat
The Pro has some heavier keys, but it's also $200 more expensive. And it's silver, I like black keyboards better.
The Axiom is a great starter if you want to go into soft-synths. It's got better key action than the Keystation or Oxygen controllers, and the stand-alone MIDI in/out is a big plus when you're on the road.
Don't expect to play this one like a grand piano, but you don't have to slam the keys either, like you need on cheap $35 USB keyboards.
i just got my axiom 61, and i have ableton 8. when i try to midi map the buttons below the faders, it says its titled "1/pb" or pitchbend...how to i assign the buttons?
@DJTwy I have the axiom 61, Id say it would depend on what software youre using, I'm using Logic 9, as far as playability it's great, but I cant say its a great software controller as far as logic, they have presets for reason, protools, Ableton and others but very minimal Logic support, I think the Axiom pro does a lot better.
Does anyone know if the korg m50 and the yamaha mo6 have midi capabilities like this??? sorry i still dont really understand midi :( im into trance/techno and im probably gonna get one of those so if someone could reply that would be awsome :) thanks
I have the same keyboard and can hookup the usb and change sounds to the keyboard through garageband BUT like others posting here, I'm clueless on how to ASSIGN drum sounds to the pads and how to change sounds (assign) to 'the fader buttons'(?). BTW, checkout Billy Van Productions for some cool Axiom mixes.
@jbw7 its to do with what channels its transmitting on. I think the default is for the keys to transmit on midi channel 1, and the pads transmit on channel 10. If you have your inputs selected to all midi then both pads and keys will give same response, but if you make 2 different instruments tracks, eg a Piano and a drum track, and set piano to receive from channel 1 and drums from channel 10 then it should work.
i just got a axiom 61 and i don't have a clue how to change the sounds and anything else like that, or get those buttons where you had the drums in the top right to play like that (with drums). i got the enigma thingie but it doesn't really work.......PLEASE HELP!!!
Within Ableton (In the top righthand corner) there should be a small button called "Midi" When you click that it brings up a menu allowing you to map any control in Ableton to a Midi signal.
When you use the drum rack. It automatically sets the system up for drum pads. All you have to do is add the sounds and map the controls.
@danxl5 is it possible to assign just drums to the pads and synth and so forth to the keyboard, and play the drums and the keyboard simultaneously? thanks.
use "chan assign" (or enigma) on the pads and use different midi channels (10 is old school midi for drums i have noticed) then for the tracks: either record both with overdub off or watch the "Ctrl-Alt-I" sections so you don't get auto-monitored out of the mix
I was thinking about getting this keyboard to start off learning piano and music theory. I know it wont work by it's self i was thinking of using it with garage band or something. do you think this would be a good choice with a sustain pedal to learn piano as well midi controller?
Does anyone know how the drum pads are set up like that? I want to sample midi files using those pads while playing through MainStage. Is there a way I can easily do both? I can't figure it out. Getting my Axiom 49/61 soon depending on if thats possible or not.
Great Stuff! Got my first midi controller today and you inspired me. I have the Axiom 49 and after a good nights sleep. I'm gonna have a go at it. Thanks for the vid and keep em comming.
hey, very good video, can you please tell me what monitoring speakers are you using? I saw the same model in some other videos so I assume it is good but I don't know what it's called..
I just got my axiom 61. Can someone help me to assign my axiom with garage band . ex record, play ... I need it to be program with garage band without me always going on my computer keyboard all the time when I'm doing midi recording
hay can you tell me how to asign drums to pads and keys to a vsti like what your doing im getting the vsti trigering the pads and keys and want to have one vsti to each
What he probably did is set the keys to one specific midi channel and the drum pads to another midi channel, and each of those channels are routed to 2 different vsti: one for synth and another for drum vsti.

nice. If you can do that with ableton, I'm sold until I'm using reason4 again.

I have a huge one second delay in between when I hit the note and when I hear it in the head phones. It's absolutely revolting.

Can you get an external power supply and hook it up to speakers or do you have to use a PC?
AudioMayhem100 2 years ago
It's just a controller (very much like a computer keyboard) so you need to use a PC. It just sends MIDI signals to the PC.
dsego84 2 years ago
thanks!!!
17OfSpades 2 years ago
I have the same keyboard and can hookup the usb and change sounds to the keyboard through garageband BUT like others posting here, I'm clueless on how to ASSIGN drum sounds to the pads and how to change sounds (assign) to 'the fader buttons'(?). BTW, checkout Billy Van Productions for some cool Axiom mixes.
jbw7 2 years ago 2
@jbw7 its to do with what channels its transmitting on. I think the default is for the keys to transmit on midi channel 1, and the pads transmit on channel 10. If you have your inputs selected to all midi then both pads and keys will give same response, but if you make 2 different instruments tracks, eg a Piano and a drum track, and set piano to receive from channel 1 and drums from channel 10 then it should work.
benlinden9 2 years ago
i just got a axiom 61 and i don't have a clue how to change the sounds and anything else like that, or get those buttons where you had the drums in the top right to play like that (with drums). i got the enigma thingie but it doesn't really work.......PLEASE HELP!!!

how did you put the drum machine on PADS and the Synth on the keyboard? I use Ableton, but I've no IDEA!!!
17OfSpades 2 years ago
@17OfSpades
Within Ableton (In the top righthand corner) there should be a small button called "Midi" When you click that it brings up a menu allowing you to map any control in Ableton to a Midi signal.
When you use the drum rack. It automatically sets the system up for drum pads. All you have to do is add the sounds and map the controls.
danxl5 2 years ago
@danxl5 is it possible to assign just drums to the pads and synth and so forth to the keyboard, and play the drums and the keyboard simultaneously? thanks.
STER1O2 2 years ago
Yeah, you can put them on different channels. So that's 100% possible. Fast and simple. :)
F0nkyNinja 2 years ago
use "chan assign" (or enigma) on the pads and use different midi channels (10 is old school midi for drums i have noticed) then for the tracks: either record both with overdub off or watch the "Ctrl-Alt-I" sections so you don't get auto-monitored out of the mix
soukupjoe 2 years ago
simple. go into the maping feature. click on say.the bass drum. then press the pad on your midi keyboard. and your done.

intheair35 2 years ago

OrophinKid 2 years ago

intheair35 2 years ago
the metronome is a part of any production program that you use. but you can map the axiom turn on and off the metronome if you want it to.
LoshinProductions 2 years ago
I was thinking about getting this keyboard to start off learning piano and music theory. I know it wont work by it's self i was thinking of using it with garage band or something. do you think this would be a good choice with a sustain pedal to learn piano as well midi controller?

hay can you tell me how to asign drums to pads and keys to a vsti like what your doing im getting the vsti trigering the pads and keys and want to have one vsti to each
warchild1976 2 years ago
What he probably did is set the keys to one specific midi channel and the drum pads to another midi channel, and each of those channels are routed to 2 different vsti: one for synth and another for drum vsti.
EASY!

its a good idea to make your metronome a toggle-button instead of a hold-button. Then you have both hands free.

no? mac runs on macintosh. if you download parallels you run windows on a mac .. fuck you..
knudiinliverpool 2 years ago
Exactly, your running windows on your mac, then the program is running on windows through mac, fuck get some common sense.
