  • Everyone needs to shut the fuck up he's 100% right about "us" christian's whether you try to hid it or not

  • Boy you are unbelievably OFF!!!!! You need to seek God for your own self and realize the true meaning of being a Christian.

  • @k99night shut up with your fake god bullshit

  • Just a reminder here: he's painted a picture of the American christian; not the rest of the church who walk the walk, but have to whisper the talk for fear of having thier villages burned down or being burried up to thier necks as a bunch of men try and force them to recite the Shahada. We americans have it easy, which is why we fail so often......but i agree with him on the crusades.

  • Yes as Christians we mess up. We are not perfect in any way. You see we are saved by grace witch means no matter what we do ( right or wrong ) we can't earn or lose grace. You see it is freely given to us.

So with that said I would like to encourage everyone to control the only thing you can control. YOUR ATTITUDE! Attitude controls altitude.

  • @brentduanefoster No because that's not who I am! I refuse to be labeled as a non-caring, judgemental prick!

  • Comment removed

  • Also, SO WHAT he used a little profanity, as of some of ya'll have NEVER used it before.

  • Seems like certain folk on this comment board are a bit upset at what Chris has said, and to that, I say, "The truth hurts, don't it?" Did you listen to what he said? Some of you have been trained (yes, I said trained) to spend your time proving yourselves right and everyone else wrong. Instead of fully learning about people who are different than you, you go off your pulpit taught ignorance, and perpetuate the hatred that you claim to be a victim of. The truth hurts, don't it?

  • @brentduanefoster Nope, this video reminds me of what I was before Christ intervened.

  • @brentduanefoster I don't perpetuate any kind of hatred. This isn't the truth. It's pushing dirty stereotypes upon a massive group of people for a reaction. It's like saying you don't like someone so that the kids who say they don't like him will accept you. And yes. I'm upset. It makes me sad when I have to tell my friends that I think the crusades were wrong and that I don't hate gay people. It makes me sad that people assume I'm evil.

  • Recommended: Christopher Hitchens, Terence McKenna, Joe Rogan, George Carlin.

  • Amen!

  • Yes. Lets, as Christians, spend our energy arguing over a word choice instead of coming to terns with the millions of people we have judged, killed and been hateful toward over the generations in the name of Jesus.

That will surely prove your point that Tse is wrong. *sarcasm inteteded*

  • Brilliant! Love this. Anyone else liking this might be interested in listening to Shane Claiborne.

  • The truth. Chris Tse is a artistic genius among us.

  • @Zarophel the point of the video is how non-christians see Christians. All you have to do is look. Christians aren't perfect, and non-Christians see that. They do realise. However, they do not realise that we are dead to ourselves, free from our sin and living in the grace of God!

  • i love it.

  • I loved this poem. Amazing.

  • Well, I’m a Christian and I’m not sorry. I am tired of accusations that I and my fellow Christians are judgemental when in fact I am so harsh on myself and spend so much time in introspection wondering how to be less judgemental that I have had to ask God to help me to accept myself as I am. I recently attended a pro-life conference where I met some of the people who protest outside abortion clinics and they were the most kind and educated people you could ask for. The stereotype is wrong.

  • @Zarophel You missed the whole point of the video.

  • @ClTIZEN: What do you think the point of the video is then? I thought it was a commentary on the state of the church and on Christians generally.

  • @ClTIZEN yup

  • @Zarophel you say that some people you know who protest against abortion clinics are kind and educated etc...The Jesus I follow is one who is known for what He is for, not what He is against. How scared do you think these young girls that go there are and how much must they feel like crap and seeing all these people who are protesting against there actions must terrify them even more...great example of Christians showing God's love...just saying

  • @andywilki: Actually, I met pretty much the entire of the pro-life movement of New Zealand, where I live. They believe that if we must behave consistently and have as much concern for people who are born as people who are unborn. That is why they are funding free post-abortion counselling services here and support for young women who keep their babies and don't know how to raise them. It is necessary however to protest about abortion because they believe the lives of the babies matter too.

  • i am sorry, this made me laugh too muchhhhhhhh... i confess i am a christian, im sorry

  • This poetry slam hit me to the core of my heart.

It shot my heart because I know that its true-

the things we say and the things we do.

We’re all hypocritical with the way we speak and the way we act.

We contradict ourselves with opinions and facts.

But I tell you this and keep it in mind

I’m not sorry that I am a Christian.

I am sorry because I, at times, fail to be one.

But I am not sorry that I am a Christian.

  • this video gets me so upset because of the simple fact i that this is what not a christian is . dont say your sorry because your a christian say sorry because you claim to be something your not.

  • Fabulous poetry, well delivered!! . . .

  • this guy gets it. i'm an atheist (obviously), but this is the kind of theist I respect. someone who rises above the dogma and acknowledges the flaws, but stands by his ideals anyway.

  • @atheistbiker Totally agree. I'm an atheist too. It's odd seeing this sort of reconciliation in a believer, isn't it?

  • @authenticpoppy It is, but it shouldn't be. I'm a Christian, and it should be like this. It should be honest, It should be real. This guys is incredible because he's honest. That's a big part of what Christianity should be. I'm not ashamed of my faith. I'm ashamed of some of the stuff that I've done in knowing Christ for the year that I have. But I'm not ashamed of what saves me. I think it goes for this guy as well.

  • I'm not saying it's a big deal that he used profanity...I love the Campolo quote @xC4k3 used...but if you did want a scriptural reference against profanity I'd use Ephesians 4:49 which says "Don't use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them." but in the case of this video I don't feel it's meant to disparage anyone just to get our attention so we will wake up.

  • love the use of poetic devices and paradoxical theme of mixed views of christian faith. it really touched me

  • "Christians say Jesus is the messenger. Muslims say it's Muhammad. I say, Who gives a fuck who the messenger is? Did you get the message?" -- Eddie Griffin

  • I love this! including the swearing :D

  • Oh, this made me cry! How brutally honest and honestly brutal and everything confessional and clear and harsh. Brilliant. And how did he memorize it all? This made me cry.

  • I love it! From start to finish...

People, swearing isn't condemned in the bible. Taking the Lord's name in vain is. There's a big difference. I mean, we shouldn't throw around swear words because society has deemed them as inappropriate. "Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause him to fall."

But perhaps our sensitivity to harsh language is similar to the laws the Pharisees created way back then. Are we like them?

  • @CanucksLuo great point. I applaude you.

  • there's so many legalistic people here saying commenting on the swearing, not the actual content. It just shows the heart of Christian's these days are focused on legalism not love.

  • why is he swearing....aww that just killed it.

  • @benakG2:

I'd like the verse of the Bible where it says that swearing is wrong. New Testament please. You bring up anything from the OT, I'll point out that you're supposed to burn to death all girls who have premarital sex if their father is a priest.

  • if only all Christians were like this guy... I might associate with them

  • Comment removed

  • he should lay off on the cursing, it really doesn't do much for the poem. but other than that its awesome

  • @Tamar16100

did you know that the apostle Paul used the word skubala in Phillipans 3:8 to get his point across? Skubala means shit in Greek.

Tse never cursed. No. Cursing is an action that spreads hatred and tears people down for no reason other than to prove our own self worth. Tse wants us as Christians to open our eyes so that we can build people up. Cursing is an action not a word.

And I agree, this poem is awesome. :)

  • Though I am unsure of his views on gays, and abortion

this is a beautiful poem, take away the religious hate, bashing, stereotype and just listen, listen to what he is REALLY saying

    this is beautiful,

this is true not in the literal sense though, you just have to listen

take what you do from it but dont say this is worth anything less, dont say this is bad because you dont share the views,

dont judge his on his judgements or you are exactly what you hate him for

  • Wow.....

  • how can you judge his cursing when you yourself still sin.

  • as a Christian i appreciate his standpoint. but as a christian i do not appreciate the language. the poem would have been great without it

  • @TheKurdy16 I think this is jus his way of expressing how he personally feels. the Lord hears his apolgetic message. Behind the cursing comes a deeper meaning that in which the Lord seeks.

  • One of the reasons I left religion. Because even if it was true, we would never get the true story of it. With the possibility to corrupt that man has, God wouldn't leave his religion to people who would mold it and warp it in the way it has.

  • Is he making fun of Christianity, referring to how some 'Christians' act?

  • @gtrjonky What, you need to run and get a batch of Krispy Kreme Donuts and a bottle of maple syrup to wash it down?

  • @gtrjonky Isn't it funny how you can't post with a real account? Hey Ringling Brothers wants to borrow a pair of your underwear to put up an extra tent.

  • @gtrjonky I'm sure there's alot of large mammals that you get confused for.

  • @gtrjonky "Payback"? You're the one who has to go through life looking like you do. Do you use deoderant underneath the flaps of your man breasts?

  • I'm sorry, instead of saying " you should be sorry " I'm sorry for not saying " sorry for not being sorry, while I suit here and play Atari " ... wait, what nevermind, sorry.

  • You should be sorry

  • The title of this video is absolutely misleading. The poet is NOT saying "I'm sorry that I'm a Christian," he is saying "I'm a Christian and I'm sorry for the things people have done in the name of Christianity." The title of the video should be verbatim what the poet said: "I am a Christian -- I'm sorry."

The misleading title is probably what lies behind some of the negative comments seen here.

  • @TheStrong32 Well if people are only reading the video titles and leaving comments then that's their own stupidity.

  • @TheStrong32 The title of this video should be called

"I'm sorry that you mistook me for a christian."

  • How you gonna curse in Christian Poetry?

  • @KelseyKelz21 In this context the "curse" word is just a way of conveying a message,a feeling. It's not a negative thing.

  • masterpiece....

  • Fantastic writing. Well done.

  • Awesome piece of poetry. Poor choice to swear. Other than that, keep livin for Him.

  • This guy is amazing.

  • I loved it.

  • This is pretty beast.

  • This makes a LOT of sense. He's not bashing Christianity, but those who use Christianity as an excuse for their bad behavior .He's sorry that people see him as a Christian hypocrite (like a WBC member) instead of a TRUE follower of Christ. I feel the same way; people assume I look down on non-Christians, but I have friends with diverse religious views. I do my best to treat others the way I want to be treated, and I know I'm not perfect. I try to be the best person I can be. I'm sorry too.

  • We are all a work in progress. Yes, I feel like the poet could have shown a bit more humility, especially if he was in the house of our Lord. I am not judging. However, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ ( the body) and the Bible teaches us to correct out of love. Let's pray that God blesses him with the discernment to know the truth so that he can go from a babe to his upright walk.

  • its a shame he feels he has to swear to his point across

  • I think that the intention behind this was good and parts of what he's saying are true. But the way it comes across says is that he's slamming the faith and blamming Christians for things that happened in the past that were generations out of theyre control. It also helps to spread the stereotypical veiw the world has of Christians (or anyone of God's children for that matter) however he isnt trying to do that I dont think. I think the point he's trying to get across at the core is good.

  • Only parts of this are true, but the Word of God disagrees with much of it. The spirit behind this poem is offended and confused. Jesus is not offended and confused.

Unlike the audience, don't blindly agree with what this guy is saying without reading what the Bible says about being a Christian. Follow Jesus and be pure.

  • @WhomDoYouServe Amen!

  • He should apologize for cursing, and claiming "God is Allah, and Allah is God."

  • @xC4k3 bro, you should be more open minded to what hes sayin instead of looking for things to bash him. If your a Christian read about other religions then know his reasoning for saying things. But ofcourse you shut your eyes to other faiths just because you're a "Christian".

  • The main question here is not WHAT he's apologizing for but WHO is he apologizing to.

  • This is a great poem! I love the way u look at the christian walk in so many different angles. Amazing. This really touched my heart and makes me want to be sure that I'm being all that Jesus wants me to be as a christian young woman. To God be the glory. Please keep speaking! =)

  • Jesus would most certainly use the f-bomb, as some of you put it! What do you think he said when he made a whip to clear out the temple? As queenmorganalefay says below, its how you use words to hurt or build-up others not whether you use a curse-word or not.

  • he curse to much : / the book of james tells christians to tame that tongue!!!

  • I'm a christian. I don't know if Chris is? But I know he understands christianity and love alot more than most 'Christians' He has spoke what I have felt for years. But im no where near as eliquent as Chris to put what I feel into words. I do my best to act on how I feel, but I still suck as a christian (even after 8 years). It's not possible for us humans to ever be a great Christians. We all love sex, drugs and rock n' roll too much.

  • But who decided the "F" word was a profanity?? Did God or man decide that it should not be uttered? I really think that people are focussing on a word that someone told us is "bad", and ignoring the message he's bringing.

  • @TheFeistyGirl He's showing passion and there's nothing wrong with that. I bet when Jesus first came to the rough, hardened, young fishermen disciples they all swore. I fully agree with you TheFeistyGirl. People shouldn’t judge him for using swear words… Because if you do, you’re just one of those ‘Christians’ he's talking about.

  • @TheFeistyGirl Its not really the word as much as the intention behind the word. At least thats what I think, I think its more about speaking positivly, because God knows as well as everyone else how powerfull words can be. Since the F word is typically used to bring someone down, it eventually became known as a curse word. But anything can be used like that, its just a matter of talking to someone with respect, not with a purpose to hurt theme.

  • I enjoyed this poem! Yes the f-words make me cringe...they always do, but, I hear what he is saying and I agree!

  • GAVE ME CHILLS!

  • I think the people who are commenting on his language use are missing the point. Words in themselves are not immoral. It's how the words are used. A word used to defame or hurt someone is more of a curse word than any of the seven words you can't say on television.

  • Wow..amazing poem!

  • i really like your poem

  • It's so peacefull here at the church we go to we actually invite gays to come I'm christian and I'm proud and nobody can tell me different being christian is the best thing that as ever happen to me !!!!!

  • Im a Christian too and I like this poem but if he truly a christian he shouldnt be using profanity since his message is talking about walk the walk other thing I hope he's speaking for himself cuz I'm not perfect nobody is and if he trying to insinuate how christians are then his wrong out of all the churches in the world and all the christians in the world if this was true the whole world would be on be war Christian would be killing no-believers around my neighborhood and their not its so pea

  • awesome job! God bless!

  • did he just say "f*cking human being" at 1:59? O_O

  • @theazn07 yes he did OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG

  • does dude drop an F bomb in there?

  • I'm a "christian", and I love this. my best friend is an atheist and we were talking about how I should make a video on behalf of all Christians to say "sorry", come to find that this guy already beat me to it! I will definitely be sharing this with my friend. <3

  • I AM A Christian (A follower of Christ) I understand what this poem is trying to spread. I agree that through history people have done things that do not portray Christ and yet called themselves Christians. I don't want to align myself with them, but only with JESUS. I am not trying to be critical, but I don't think that cursing in this poem is being any different that the Christian you speak of in this poem. WWJD, HE would never use that word, to spread His WORD. God Bless You <3

  • @1SongBirdspeaks By that word I can only assume the f-bomb. Having read the Gospels many times over, I think that Jesus would have appreciation for using words in context. It's not the word, but how you use it.

  • Matt.15:16 "Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them.

*Man in this video is NOT Christ, but he is trying his best to be like Him. To have the wide array of emotions that Christ had, and the HONESTY, TRUTH, UNDERSTANDING and LOVE. I hope that one day you choose to follow the man, the LIVING GOD that is Christ, and understand that your comments about Chris Tse's use of the "F-bomb" only verify this man's poetic claims that as Christians can only find separation between each other as human beings.

  • Comment removed

  • Beautifully done. All these things are why I'm proud not to be Christian. Only by freeing oneself of the chain stamped Religion can one shed bigotry, hatred, intolerance, and sheer awfulness of many kinds.

  • James Madison, the "Father of the U.S. Constitution", along with many founders of this country, regardless of their religious or non-religious affiliations, knew keeping politics and religion separate not only preserves each, but helps them flourish: "The number, the industry, and the morality of the Priesthood and the devotion of the people have been manifestly increased by the total separation of the Church and the State."

  • "Only the elimination of all conservative Christians will allow all Americans to be free and the world to no longer have to live in fear of the U.S.A.'s imperialist, terrorist holy war. The conservative ideology has never helped mankind in any way, it has not only never helped mankind in anyway, it has oppressed, murdered, raped and killed all those in it's way to gain power. History shows us this. Fact shows us this.

  • @cpmondello Christians are horribly afraid of facts.

  • Christians don't need entertainment. We need Truth. So if this guys speaking for those Christians who walk the walk...he's failed miserably. What did he say @ 1:58

Oh but I have no right to judge...of course I don't, of course I don't.

Oh but WAIT! His ENTIRE message is passing judgment! Did you catch that??!!?? ...or are you to busy searching for a god of YOUR understanding over layed with "Christian" catch phrases...

  • @SuzukiGSXR4LIFE Most Christians don't know truth even when it slaps them in the face such as in this video.

  • I'm an Atheist and I'm sorry... Beautifully done. So true no matter your faith or lack of.

  • @TheLevita777 Ok you are clearly missing the whole point of the Poem! Your shear ignorance has blinded you form the main message, not of hatred or slander against the Christian belief, but to bring people to a realization that in order to talk the talk you must try your best to walk the walk!!! also read the favourited comments above!!!

  • This is a wonderful poem. Thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • looking forward to video-responding to this soon :)

  • I think the gross majority of the people commenting this are missing the point. The key is to not listen from a perspective, or point of view. You have to forget what your stance is on political issues, swearing, religion, etc., and just listen to what this man has to say. It's very eye opening from an objective point of view.

Get rid of your stereotypes. Listen to him as you would listen to your friend. It seems to me that's the point he's trying to make.

  • As a devout Christian he's not bashing Christianity..He's talking about those who hides behind Christianity for their own purpose...and not for God's sake or the sake of humanity. Amen To this

  • I absolutely love this.

  • @TheLevita777

You've only just proved my point. Nice job, buddy.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheLevita777

Considering that you accused the poet of blasphemy without recognizing the merits of the poem itself, I am justified in saying that you are proving my point that you are too blinded by your dogma in order to see ANY merit that poet has to say. Thank you for proving my point.

  • @thunderbolt94 Well to be honest I didnt finish watching the video....I figured he was bashing people so didnt intend on finishing hearing it But thanks ill hear the whole thing... Sorry/ Dogma definitely not I buddy I am not what you think I am....

  • @thunderbolt94 ok Im sorry ...But theres is some Christians that are guilty of stuff he talks about but Im sorry...it is not all of them.... and definitely I agree some things go on but there is hope in Jesus ...Men will fail but God would never ...christians are not super people so if you expect to find a perfect person then look only to Christ not to human beings which are full of flaws... Sorry

  • @TheLevita777

Well . . . I don't think the poet implied that ALL Christians are guilty of the stuff he talks about in his video. I'm happy to see that admit you should've have come quick to judgement about the poem. God Bless.

  • @thunderbolt94 Well you know I still dont agree with the poem... the only I did was give the whole thing a chance but it proved itself to do exactly what I thought tho..Like the problem is not the Christian but the faults in the christians life...and what i WAS saying is that People are so harsh on christians and bashing a whole entire faith when thats focusing on the negative...and thats not reality its partial...because no one is perfect christian nor non christian

  • OMG!! i think i saw him at urbana 09 he said this at a poetry slammy type thing!!! it was really good

  • thank you marcgravelballer. Christians are humans and recognize their deliberate sin just as everyone else does, they have more weight to carry on their shoulders however. I am one of those. I dont agree with the self righteous attitude of many Christians though!!

  • NO profanity! This IS a slam, but one that doesn't "step on any toes" (except for those who ARE living the way they should!).There is NO reason to apologize for being a Christian..the actions at times, YES, but the lifestyle (if truly living it out!) NOT EVER! This is complete blasphemy...if you say you are a Christian, your words (whether in poetic style or your everyday) should match ur heart in God..this DOES NOT!!! And I KNOW God..He'd NEVER speak these words..look for yourself (BIBLE!)! <3

  • @Chloey0789 LOL! I think it was Jesus who said "WOE TO YOU PHARISSESS ! YOU ARE LIKE WHITE WASHED TOUMBS, filled with rotting stinking bones...I'm paraphraisng....but when JESUS say s WOE!...it could be taken as todays WTF ! Not that i like hearing this kids use the F bomb but i think it's acceptable here. GOOD FOR YOU PSV !

AWESOME....you are a man of GOD for today...you will win more souls than anyone I know...I''m showing this to the teens this Sunday, will let you know what they say! hugs

  • @burgertube1 If Jesus wanted to use profanity, He would've! Also, He'd have told us it's okay, which HE clearly states "Obscenity, foolish talk, coarse joking, crude language--these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God."-(Ephesians5:4)This man is NOT following what God Himself exemplified! And bringing what God said is NOT for us (real Christ followers) into His church is blasphemy! Men of God are intelligent enough to write/speak words apart from the world, NOT of it!

  • @burgertube1 God Himself did not and does not curse! It is NOT acceptable! He spits people out of His mouth for it! His Word is acceptable, but these words are NOT His Words! <3

  • @Chloey0789 You're blind and deaf to the real message.

  • @jrr577 On the contrary...did Jesus, His disciples, or ANY other author in the Bible need to say ANY of those words or ANY kind of profane and blasphemous prose??? NO!!! They never apologized for being a REAL Christian...I see what he is TRYING to say, but I don't apologize for being a Christian...I apologize for my sinful and selfish actions, which are completely AGAINST what the Holy Spirit does in us as believers....

  • @Chloey0789 Wow... I think I read at least 3 responses to my single sentence. First, to explain - you have been indoctrinated to believe that if the guy is pointing out the short falls of what seems to be the majority of Christians in the world then he must be way off base if not completely blasphemous. That causes you to only focus on the 2 times he dropped the word "fuck" in his monologue. So therefore you dismiss the fact he actually has a message of truth within the context.

  • @jrr577 God said to be careful of those who use words and do things of this world, yet "claim" to be Christians...I am doing exactly what the Lord God said to...it is you and others my friend who are blind and deaf to God's Word...which goes against how this guy spoke and wrote...

  • @jrr577 I tried to listen to it again, with your mentality but I couldn't do it b/c all I hear is a worldly view of Christianity, which I, as God said to, set myself apart, knowing what He says & instructs us to say & do in order not to fall into the trap like everyone else...

  • @Chloey0789 Second, you couldn't possibly listen to the video with my mentality because we're different individuals. The main difference being that again, you follow a doctrine as do the people around you. I used to be in that crowd and it took me many years to separate my mind from the dogma. If some day your judgement is no longer clouded by what your pastor and sunday school teacher feed you week after week, then you may actually make up your own mind as to what is really being said here.

  • @jrr577 Very well said, I'm a Christian and i hope that other 'Christians' actually listen to you. in my own opinion being forced into church is not the right way. It's up to yourself whether or not you want to believe in god and have a relationship with him. I'm glad i have been raised in such an open and loving church, one that would totally take the important things out of this message. For people to just focus on his use of the f word is rather discomforting...

  • @jrr577 Also, don't attack me, instead try to give an explanation of what this means to you..people who read our comments, are the ones who need to hear the Truth the most..be wise in your speech..your word is all you've got...blessings! <3

  • @burgertube1 God is UNCHANGING! Which means His Word is forever relevant, forever right, and forever fulfilling! His Words don't need adding to or subtracting from! Its an insult to His glory and creations when you resort to using words of the world in place of the Word of God! As Christians-if we don't like something, its not something worth liking! God gave us discernment to prevent us from falling into these traps (anything against God!). PLEASE pray before you showcase this in His temple! <3

  • i'm sorry that this is doctrinally incorrect, and that by flattering words, many have been deceived.

  • @matthew11and25

Please, explain - not because I disagee, but because I might agree...

  • That line about abortion was REALLY moving. I'm favoriting this because it was really moving. The whole thing. You said a lot of things I think all Christians need to consider because we can really be hypocritical at times and definitely not a clear representation of the love of Christ :/ Nice job.

  • Pointless deepities. In other words, christians, and jews, and muslim, are all idiots full of shit.

  • I think he's trying to remind us of our weaknesses/sins as Christians that we need to be reminded of in order to be the example that we are supposed to be..except he didn't have to use the strong language towards the end. You can make something profound, but no blasphemous, but other than that, I think he did a pretty good job reminding Christians just how important it is to model what we believe rather than being insecure, scared, and ignorant of the world.

  • Really really brilliant!

  • Comment removed

  • Finally, a Christian "apologist" I can get behind....

  • is this a slam on religion or is he actually saying good things about christianity? im confused, i just dont know anything about religion.

  • @TommysBed Hi! He is a christian himself, a devote one at that... from my oppinion he is saying that he is sorry for the way christianity has been used in bad ways to do bad things from misdirected people.... he sees Jesus/God as figures of love yet feels sad by the way they have been used as peoples tools for hatred, ignorance, ect...

  • Alright... What's up with the chursing? I hope I am not judging you, but seriously? Do you need to go to those heights to prove that Christianity is still alive? It very well is! BUT DO NOT CURSE "because it's part of poetry". It's like trying to have sex with a prostitute to win her over! There's a limit! Other than that, it was really good

  • @ukurikose i think your missing the point...

  • this guy was my church's summer intern for a year. he had the utmost passion for God and helped me with my walk with God. his love for poetry also influenced me to start my blog and to talk about walking with God through that.

this piece of work that he has. isnt trying to put down christians. but to call christians to examine their lives and to live like christ lived. reading the words brought me near tears. this is a perfect example of what God can do through the art of language. blessing...

  • @raysoflight21 I'm a Christian myself and I kind of figured thats where he was coming from. but i still don't think he had to use the f word...its like if a preacher is preaching to a congregation about what someone else said and that preacher repeats the same curse words that that someone else used. of course the congregation wouldn't agree, they might even leave the church.

  • @shekiglory1989 - I agree with you. I know that we have to look at this as being poetry, but I know that if Jesus Christ were standing there in front of him listening to him speak his poem, he would not be able to cuss. I understand where this man is coming from and what message he is attempting to share, and I do not deny his passion for Christ, but there is no need to act like the world in order to speak to the world, or to other Christians.

  • @ChristinaVictoriaP I both disagree and agree with you on his choice of words. A large argument in the early church was about whether or not it was a sin to eat sacrificed meat from a pagan temple. In 1 Corinthians 8, Paul states that there should be no issue with eating the meat, as pagans gods do not exist and eating the sacrificed meat is meaningless. Pt1

  • @ChristinaVictoriaP Pt 2 However, he stated that if a Christian thought eating the meat was a sin, and he ate it anyway, it would be a sin. So one can eat the meat, so long as they are not harming another Christian's walk. The same applies to swearing. It is simply a meaningless man made word which society has agreed to shun, which I beleive is the understanding for his choice in the poem.

  • Awesome, well said. As a christian I'm sorry too. It's ok to be sorry but people of all religions have to stand up for what they believe in otherwise their religion means nothing. Loving is good and being compassionate and excepting is what Jesus taught, however this world will never be like heaven. All we can do is try our best.

  • Christianity gets more and more interesting as time goes by...what's next? It seems like they always have to do things to spice themselves up, rap, rock...now cursing...

do you think Jesus would say those words?

  • @findtruthfindpeace I've read before, that at a few times in the Greek NT, Jesus did use a word similar to the "s" word in English. If that's true, then, yes, Jesus would.

Words are just words really. It's culture that makes them "bad".

What you say about Christians "spicing things up" is nonsense. Are Christians, for some reason, not allowed to write music in a style that they prefer? Or are Christians mandated to stay in the 1800s?

  • @tomopotamus

Words have the power to eat at people's flesh(backbiting) and can be sharper than swords...so no, words are not just words really...and I do not think Jesus would say such nonsense...people who don't have good vocabulary skills are known to curse because they can't fill what they want to say with good words

...what I see amongst Christians; is that they know their "songs" better than their scripture

I remember going to church and it feeling like a concert

  • @findtruthfindpeace yeah..jesus would definatly say those words.
