  • It does more sound than speed lol

  • The videos been age resistricted because its a dirty sound

  • This was before the day of cell phones. Can you imagine the calls to the police now!

  • Quelles belles epoque! Il n'y avait pas les radars!!! Fab

  • This is what a real car guys car will sound like in heaven! BTW a 1975 Suzuki GT750 with expansion chambers sounds real close to this, especially when riding it.

  • I'm guessing he's been dead for years now?

  • @msteeln No I believe he is still alive ! The film was made by French director Claude Lelouch.

  • Now that I look at again for the first time since I first saw it as a teenager, it doesn't add up. It's getting right up there in 5th gear and that means it should be 150+mph and the speed differential between it and other cars certainly doesn't look like what should be a 120mph difference. Great clip though. And for what earthly reason has some moron flagged it?

  • There was always something fishy about this (fantastic) little film - around timecode 4:40(ish) - things don't hold together so well. And then you watch 'Making Rendezvous" - well, it all becomes apparent. Pity. Still, awesome clip.

  • clearly, it's 1975

  • omg the goosebumps!!!!!!

  • Oh god! How exciting!!! What I'd give to have been behind that wheel...dad taught me how to shift without the clutch...I wonder if that would have come in handy ; ) Goosebumps watching this. I am definitely my father's daughter.

  • this car is ACTUALLY better than any thing you will OWN

  • how fsat/slow is it? is this for real

  • Has to be the BEST drive EVER..................

  • As great as the car is...i'd take the woman any day

  • He's driving it hard...it must be getting like 7mpg their.

  • Red light? Don't give a fuck!

  • This footage is great as the movie is. But the drive is a"fils de Put3!". First, for all the red light traffic burnt a long the way and second, to let the girl waiting 8 minutes in front of Sacre Coeur. Wait... what a good idea!!

  • sex in a car.

  • Sound is not in time with the speed. Nice video though.

  • LOVE it...This IS my cup of tea!! Thanks for posting this, I wish I was behind the steering wheel. At 53 years old wish I could put that one in my bucket list...before it's too late!

  • The good old day's

  • @thelambodudes Good old days as back when you wouldnt be able to ever watch this video?

  • The camra so low gives the epression its faster like a go-kart goggle if u must all the facts are there

  • A watch a doc on this is a mercedes with a camra at the front with 9mins a film left and the engine is dubbed And the real top was no more than 60m

  • @gmmata Good info, though!!

  • What a fucking asshole. I've lived in Paris, and I know that no matter what time of day you are out, there are always quite a few people walking the sidewalks. The total disregard for anyone's safety kinda pissed me off. However, seeing how some neighborhoods I know looked in 1976 was kinda cool

  • Incredible sound but clearly dubbed from a flat twelve Ferrari F1 car of the period, not a 275. I count six gears which rules out a 275 as well.

  • I love happy endings... :D

  • Love the fact they never found out who the actual driver was. The director was charged and questioned but would never reveal who it was.....

  • too slow

  • He deserves that Ferrari

  • Hahahahaha! You are so funny... Hahahaha! You are completely wrong, like germans making cars... A 450 SEL just can not take curves like this so fast and does not have this stability... A 450 SEL is a tank, a boat, not a car... Go to the minute 5:20, do you really think that a 450 SEL can pass through it so easily?

Wait, I tell you in german, maybe you understand better: "Deutsche Autos sind Scheisse"

  • @Sete145Q

Or he's completely right. Straight out of the director's mouth, it's a Mercedes with a Ferrari's sound dubbed over it.

"A making-of-the-rendezvous documentary indicates that Lelouch himself was the driver, that the car driven was the Mercedes, although the sound track is from a Ferrari"

  • @Sete145Q Mercedes-Benz W116 450SEL 6.9 was a unique car of the time. It had hydraulic suspension and lots of other mods. And as a usual powerful Mercedes it controls just right, when you step on the gas. I have a 300TE and damn it, it's fast as hell when I need it. Just a little bulky because of light stabilizer bars. The 6.9 had adjustable ride suspension which could change the body roll. So that's why the camera is pretty stable. And that's also why they couldn't film a Ferrari coz it's harsh

  • @Sete145Q watch?v=vROK5prpN6A

  • @Sete145Q yeah go ahead with your italian junk. Take your Ferrari/Lamborghini or whatsoever out on a ride on the Nordschleife vs a Porsche GT3 and get your bulls/steeds balls shoved up your mouth by some REAL racing technology. And we didnt quit in 1943...

  • @Johannchen88 "...and we didn't quit in 1943..." ? OK. First of all, let me say that I love my '85 928S. It truly kicks ass. But... are you REALLY going to bring up WWII? WTF is wrong with you?

  • traffic lights optional?

  • Whoever this guy is for President...and FTW!

  • falso, fake, falsum

  • Amazing! I don't have words.....

  • Ferrari Super, fuck Porsche! Fuck german cars...!!! Forza Italia!!

  • @Sete145Q the car in the video is actually a Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9...just the sound is from the regisseurs Ferrari 275 GTB...so you better be careful with "Fuck german cars...!!!" ;)

  • @Johannchen88 No way Sete....the sound through the tunnels can not be duplicated. Ferrari all the way....

  • @Johannchen88 how can you tell that its a 450?

  • @kingofengles watch?v=vROK5prpN6A

  • @Johannchen88 how do you know?

  • Ferrari Super, fuck Porsche! Fuick german cars...!!! Forza Italia!!

  • I was doing homework. Turned off the music, listened to this instead.

  • Its a master piece, o yeah!!!!

  • So the sound is from another car?

  • Empty streets..don't get that anymore.

    Good vid.

  • @Geemonster69 christmas day, best time to rag

  • magnific race!!!! this is the most beautiful race ever!!!!!!!!

  • magnific race!!!!

  • damn birds...get out of the road!

  • I wouldn't have had to drive like that if I hadn't've taken the time to attach that camera. Sorry I was late babe.

  • The sound editing of the 275's engine (over the film captured by the director, in his Mercedes) is brilliant film making. Just the accuracy of framing at the end, as the car is parked at the steps, shows the professional attention to detail

  • Driving like a fucking boss!

the road is all yours baby.

  • everything looks old :P

  • Is like in the games!

  • pile of shit

  • Nice Movie

  • He neally hits that lady at 6:30!

  • The birds flying out the streets as the car turns makes it a classic!

  • God I love those heel and toe downshifts! And check out 5:39. Is that an AMX Javelin? What an era for cars.

  • 1min 11sec from Arch de Triomphe to Obélisque de Luxor (2.5km) = 76mph average. Not bad but easily achievable in most modern cars with average driver

  • absolutely brilliant! Perfect saturday morning film!

  • Hoje,no nosso mundo "politicamente correto" ,seria impossível fazer uma filmagem como esta...

  • please make video with camera on ferrari and add merc sound :D

  • This "movie" was used in a music clip - Snow Patrol - Open your eyes - /watch?v=fk1Q9y6VVy0

  • no pigeons were ran over!

  • A drive at the Red Light district !!

  • BRILLIANT!!!! all that good driving wasted on a girl....priceless.

  • poetry

  • red light.. minute 1.36!

    great vid!!! thanks!

  • red light.. minute 1.36!

  • in fact, the car was a Mercedes 450 SEL , only the sound comes from a Ferrari 275 GTB , sorry folks.

  • @alterevox Thats been pointed out in these comments about 47 times already. I think people get it.

  • @alterevox How did they get the Ferrari sounds to fit exactly in the right places in this video. The downshifts and everything. I call bullshit on your comment.

  • If you know a little bit about cars, you'll see that most of the skid noises were added, and speed is definitely not that high. Most common cars now a days would do something similar. On the other hand the engine sound is awesome!

  • morning sex!!!!!!!!

  • incredible, total maniac ran red lights @ 1:35, 20:10, 2:19 and more, beautiful visuals of early morning mid '70s Paris, - this would only be possible in Europe, where asphalt quality is fine,avenues/streets, boulevards are long and wide but dangerous too, THE ULTIMATE RECKLESS DRIVER!

  • @egyptianminor actually, a lot of the road surface he was driving on was - and still is - cobblestone.

  • Incredible...total maniac, ran reds light @ 1:35,2:10,2:19,and more, beautiful ,dangereus, amazing visuals of early mornnig Paris in the mid '70s, the ultimate reckless driver.

  • what a fantastic video...no cuts, the noise, the full throttle on the straights..i wish more car movies would go through this much work just for 8 minutes...this is brilliant...

  • what red light?

  • no computer shit,no ABS,no driving assistance,100% hand built. Those were the Ferraris. And what about the sound ?? Real fucking engine !!

  • The concept of individual freedom of the driver dates back to the Stone Age. Absolutely unacceptable

    Roberto Ebelt

  • I think you missed a red light

  • É obvio o som não é real. Só uma criança para acreditar no som, mas o vídeo é muito bom.

  • is a mercedes w116 here is the proof

youtube search - >Paris 1978: Ferrari 275 (Tour Express !!) - Detras de las cámaras

  • Comment removed

  • I doubt if the sound of the car is from a Ferrari 275GBT, at some point he shifts up above fifth gear, a 275GB only has 5 gears

  • Anyone who has ever watched NASCAR or, for example, the Long Beach Gran Prix, from a televised broadcast, can attest that this is close the real thing. Just compare the passing objects or the speed at which the red lights zoom by. This vehicle was moving! The engine revs, however, do not sync very well with reality of speed required. Who cares?! Just enjoy this and fantasize about what it must be like to actually do it!!

  • muuuto lokoo

  • I feel a warm feeling inside me, when i hear that engine sound.

  • i saw this 30 years ago as a teenager and it is still amazing

  • Was Henri Paul driving by any chance?

  • fuck the red lights :)))

  • It's not a Ferrari ,It's a Mercedes 111 Twatt !11

  • 1971-73 Mustang at 5:39?

  • Wow,

whoever posted this video, made my day!

    Thank a lot.

    Super.

  • Whilst I like Snow Patrol, this audio is better than theirs!

  • speeding ticket at 6:51 :D

  • @duffman898 At 6:51 you mean... 0:00 to 8:40?

  • 6:30 Damn that was close!

  • It's not a ferrari, it's a mercedes

  • That was the best thing I have ever seen! THAT INCLUDES THE BLADES BEATING WENSDAY 3-2 IN THE 2009 STEEL DERBY!!

  • in a later interview he admitted to a max attained speed of 170 kph. not hat fast but enought to kill the guy on his bicycle with a loaf of bread on his back and a gauloise in his mouth. GO TO JAIL LELOUCH you could of killed somebody.

  • I think he actually used a Fiat 500 but he had a Ducati motorbike engine strapped to his head which he used for the sound effects.......

  • GTA paris

  • dubbed or not, what a sound!

  • Ok officially seen all of Paris now. Thank you!

  • it's from the french director, Claude Lelouch and yes he explain in an another video that he use his personnal mercedes benz and added the sound of the ferrari later....the original title of the short movie is "rendez-vous" and the film was not staged, he just drived one morning when he was bored across the streets of paris like that . Sorry for my bad english

  • Damned bias ply tires.

  • I just came.

  • Or an Mercedes...

  • this video is the clip of Snow Patrol song Open Your Eyes !!

  • @coldplay77290

You're right! Haha I remember now...., But I actually didn't expect a Ferrari.

  • @coldplay77290

Yes, they got the permission to use the film for their video of "Open your Eyes".

  • 7 people are americans that dont like cars that can turn corners

  • @lochlandb

Fuck off, haha. I'm American and I HATE American cars and I absolutely adore this video.

I say 7 people were Germans who were pissed he dubbed an Italian soundtrack over their Merc soundtrack.

  • @Acepryus Give credit sire, some of your cars are dam good! :)

  • Almost all cars were beautiful back then. Tons of character.

  • sound like a metro 6R4 AT LOW REVS

  • At 2:44 It is the start of the music video with: Snow patrol, Open your eyes.

( try it, it is true)

  • My Golf GTI Edition30 is faster...

  • @partyruler69 nobody cares

  • That was a cool ride through Paris, France! Thanks for the visual experience...$;-)

  • I bet I could have caught him in my Smart Car hahaha. Great clip, i think someone should do it again in 2016 as a 40th anniversary homage to it...

  • Don't care too much about how the vid was made, because that 275 is a musical instrument.

  • Blah, Blah ,Blah, just sit the *$@! back turn up the volume and enjoy! Remember 2 hands on the wheel @ 10 & 2. enjoy it for what it is,The sound of a Ferrari 275 with a pro driver, dubbed in over the vid of a Merc that's obviously much slower than what a Ferrari 275 would visually be doing.

  • @hawkfishoo7 10 & 2 ...... wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttt

  • @hawkfishoo7 you mean: hands @ 9 and 3 right?

  • Totally awesome!!!

  • Mercedes, Ferrari Whatever....Awesome video! That car goes faster in first gear than my car does wide open!!!

  • All the bickering aside, just bloody enjoy it and stop your arguing kids

  • allieron; I agree with you. this film is a cult classic, and has been for a long time...and do remember, there is no precentage in arguing with and expert who has driven in the Ferrari Challenge...we used to have betting pools on how many cars they would trash in a weekned (a lot of them made up for the inability to drive with ability to sign cheques)...hell, one weekend they weren't even happy with just crashing at the track, they even banged a couple of planes around at the airport...

  • Familiar territory to me. Avenue de l'Opera. Baron Haussmann would be thrilled.

  • <3

  • Not fake at all and not a Mercedes...it is a movie made by Claude Lelouch in the streets of Paris in 1976 with a Ferrari 275 GTB. The driver was the F1 Champion Jacques Laffite

  • @EvenTheSunGoesDown

Lelouch himself confirmed that the sound is that of the Ferrari but the film was made with his personal Mercedes, which hydropneumatic suspensions was better to smoothen the camera movement. And he also confirmed that he was the driver. (there is an interview of him called "rendez-vous making of" that you can easily find on youtube)

  • @aresando Apologies...

  • It was a Mercedes drove by the french director Claude LELLOUCHE and I don't think they used a Gyro stabilizator like we do nowdays. The sound comes from a Ferrari. No authorization. One take only.

No one wile dare to do such a film now.

  • I recreated this film!!!! I love this film!!

  • sublime ! tout y est du cran, la folie, l'adresse, l'originalité, la simplicité, le professionnalisme, et l'amour. merci Monsieur Lelouche.

  • the moment the car went on the sidewalk at 5:22 I knew it wasn't a ferrari!!

  • Its not ferrari but Mercedes))))))))))

  • Probably 6 feminists checked this video out^^

This is pure "male" at it's best...We're built for "speed" it's the reason the "world" goes so fast, that need for "action/speed".

I drive a very powerful car but don't drive unconsciously, I almost never respect speed limits on "open roads bar in towns or through neighborhoods where I feel a kid could cross the road at anytime where I drive 30 instead of 50kph.

Cause I'm that cautious, never had an accident in 20 years, lots of tickets though....

  • @pornpuppet you say it all!

  • Look and learn folks... watch you tube number XtOPgRUoxSc

  • u can't that the car bearly moves ?

  • its no fake but only the sound is a ferrari 275, in fact the car that he used was a big ass engine mercedes but cannot remember the model

  • @MrPorronga it was one of those big 6.9l mercedes. those things are like tanks.

  • it was only a ferrari after post the actually car is a big assed merc which makes is more impressive

  • I dont care what it is, it sounds superb and the video looks great!

  • no es un ferrari es un mercedes!!!!

  • On an August morning in 1976, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris. No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.

    worldtv . bom/blog/my_favourite_video_clips/claude_lelouch_ferrari_in_paris_1.php

  • @Cypern Wrong, completely and utterly wrong. watch you tube number XtOPgRUoxSc and Msr Le Louch will tell ypou hpow he made the film.

  • the fact that the opening credit states that no tricks are used, that it all very real makes this clip excactly what it is ; worse than a fake. absolutely thumbs down.

Also a 275 GTB on revs sounds different , very different, it would be in the 8-9,000 range all the time but this engine sounds like 6000 Very poor show !!!

The engine of a 275 was a hyper revving small engine not a lug used in this clip for the soundtrack. Absolute crap.

  • Trying to exhaust himself, Vaughan devised an endless almanac of terrifying wounds and insane collisions: The lungs of elderly men punctured by door-handles; the chests of young women impaled on steering-columns; the cheek of handsome youths torn on the chromium latches of quarter-lights. To Vaughan, these wounds formed the key to a new sexuality, born from a perverse technology. The images of these wounds hung in the gallery of his mind, like exhibits in the museum of a slaughterhouse.”

  • @tenebrae70 Ballard, top notch.

  • This video is cool, and that chemtrail-free sky is amazing. I miss the sky so much. Haven't seen it in years. This was back when people were free, before the New World Order was at it's present day peak. That has a lot to do with technology and following that pattern, as technology increases so will the control over every single aspect of your enslaved lives, when they turn the war machine from Afghanistan, to you. Gone are the days without Global Hawks and Predator Drones.

  • @hawkfishoo7 It is real. Notice at around 1:57 when he passes the yellow car, the acoustics change slightly, try editing that in and you'll have a job...

  • That's a fu...ing fake. Sound is doing 300, but the film only 40..??? I could almost outrun him with my bicycle..

  • 40 yrs ago things were significantly different than today. it was great. today all anal. this is not fake. today there would be 500 policia and 10 helicopters. ahh, those were some great days. I drove across Tx and AK a couple of yrs before this with speed control on 110,,,,and got passed by other cars. sweet times.
