  • @superelf09 Because Singapore has an authoritarian government and police department..

  • Everytime I listen to it at 0:23, I swear to god she says 'Stop Fucking Nonsense' Cannot unhear.

  • If you're from Liverpool, you are proud of the Liverpool dialect. If you're from London, you speak Cockney with pride. If you're from Scotland, there is a certain charm to that Scottish accent. But if you're from Singapore you better stick your head in the toilet and not let anybody hear your Singlish.

  • @sieteocho U mad, bro?? Problems??

  • @NagatoRinnigan Oh yeh thanks for reminding me. Not say I say one because I'm also a Singaporean. But 90% of Singaporeans do not understand sarcasm and that is a fact.

  • Reminds me of my childhood

  • thank you. I am not saying that I speak perfect english. In fact, I went to chinese sch all my life but am wiling to learn to speak properly, just like my mandarin. Yes. what can we do???

  • @viola128 there's not much we could do. Singlish is already part of our life. I don't mind the accent so much and every nation has it's own accent. the problem is the grammar and the structure of the sentence. I have friends from HK, Spain, Germany etc and they speak with a heavy accent but proper english and correct grammar. As for singaporean, even those who has great language skill choose to speak singlish.

  • THE REPUUUUHZ

  • it's nothing against Singporean, but i do agree. We all are capable in speaking proper english, especially the young ones and especially school children. we should not "promote" it at all. it is fun sometime but it's not good for our image. Most singaporean can't switch from singlish to proper english when needed.

  • @viola128

This is correct. If Singaporeans wish to speak the way they do they should call it Singaporean, not English; they murder & maim the language of Shakespeare!

  • Comment removed

  • @viola128

    agree. what can we do???

  • much....nicer.. LOL

  • Too much influence from Indians I think. Lots of Indians talk that way in London.

  • OK la, this one , that one, this nicer, that nicer, but the truth is this is seow sia la! Is this the picture Singapore wishes to portray vis-a-vis its values?

  • ALL YOONEEETS!!

  • someone send Rico there

  • lol. in the end momma power shines!

  • as a singaporean, i think that the girl talks bad singlish. her accent sounds off from singlish

  • Lol i like it

  • I am Bolo Santosi

  • @theguywithoutafoot

Leader of the Reapers i presume?

  • @135135135135135 The very same

  • @135135135135135 The revolutionary army known as the WEEPAHS.

  • Has anyone think hat Singlish occured because Singaporeans learn English and Chinese? They probaby speak in mixed language which caused the creation of Singlish. Like 'la' is used because in Chinese, it is always used at the end of the sentence to express something strong. O: ><

  • My name is Bolo Santosi. I am the leader of the revolutionary army known as the Reapers. Our goal is to break the people of Panau from the chains of oppression.

  • Like fart OK. Mother is obese & daughter is retarded!

  • @bhaihay1

    you.

    typical yuropoor.

    choose both

  • @lyzedpara

You are welcome to the threesome: Mother, Selina & the boy. No class!

  • @lyzedpara

Singlish should be exterminated in the interests of humanity: what a revolting way of speech!

  • 1:06 OH SHI-

  • hahaha the death glare!

  • Hmm..those ppl Derek don't really sound like natural singlish lor..so damn fake

  • wow that fatso's voice so damn irritating. lol

  • Man I remember this movie

    So crack up!

  • Singaporeans are most like Terry.

  • Bolo Santosi?!

  • This is funy laa !!!

  • Classic! One wearing WHITE. One wearing BLUE. The rest, you go figure it out yourself. LOL!

  • @8003lq the boy is us Sgreans lor... None of my business... :P

  • Selena k-*me:GOMEZ?* oh!

  • lololololol

  • She's kinda dressed like a hooker from the 70's

  • ya loh

  • I don't get it...it sounds just like English with a thick accent and random phrases being spoken in Chinese. So you guys are saying that in Singapore people could speak English without this kind of accent but they choose to pronounce it this way?

  • @manicbidder

I think people are confused. He 's referring to the Singlish dialect which contains many words not found in the conventional English language. Singaporeans can choose to speak Singlish or proper English. As for the accent, that's how everyone speaks

  • @manicbidder Not all can choose to not have this accent, but the ones that can switch(from normal accent to singlish) are ones that are consider higher class as (good)english isn't just a language, but more of an expensive education. Only rich parents are able to sent them to schools with english syllabus taken from UK while the government funded schools just teaches basic english. The most basic reason why Singlish has broken grammar is because they literally translate the sentences from Chines

  • So these people are speaking English as their first language, if so its very different from other English accents.

  • @maosef The boy and the mother is obviously not, maybe the girl. The boy and the mother quite obviously has mandarin(and maybe hokkien as their 2nd). Only the girl might have english as her first because she speaks better(relatively) english and doesn't have any particles in her sentences. If that's true, then she is what we called "banana" ; yellow on the outside, white on the inside because of her inability to speak her native language.

  • the girl sounds awfully Jamaican o.O

  • those people who said we cant speak standard english, can u speak standard singlish?

  • The girl in th blue shirt, her accent.....

  • To people who don't like this video and find it irritating, don't watch it. -_-

  • 'awesome dialect'? Are you kidding? It sounds like shit. It exudes unsexiness and stirrs an unbelievable sense of irritation to the ear.

  • @neelantra you talking cock laaah angmoh...

  • @Q8379 Exactly, you demonstrated my point clearly......realise now how ridiuclous you sound and do somehting about it.

  • @neelantra dun scared

  • i think singlish is a part of the pride of singapore. sure there is a time and place but its its an awesome dialect.

  • ya lah i am indonesian and i sometimes or always speak singapore english(singlish)

  • sounds like what the gov is doing to the people. "Just shut up and drive"

  • @LethalNix882 try searching phua chu kang rosie. Listen to Rosie's voice for Bobo Santosi

  • Comment removed

  • @statsx you're singaporean-in-the-making already wat. hahahaha Singlish totally rocks. We/re gonna make Singlish a official language someday. Like how French is for France and Spanish is for Spain. Singlish is for Singapore!

  • i thot u say....

  • @xxweirdwonderxx cause most of us are not malay?

  • Comment removed

  • @sirpecky And most of you are not English?

  • @xxweirdwonderxx well but atleast alot more people speak english than malay. Try speaking malay to a businessman from china, japan, europe or from the US. Why do you wanna get the chinese singaporeans to speak malay??? Singapore is inter-racial malay speaks malay chinese speaks chinese and when we get together we speak English. No need to quarrel bout that

  • actually sounds like new zealanders.

  • Malay is Singapore national language. Official language is Chinese, English and Indian.

  • First i thought singlish is funny. But now it realy annoys me when some1 try to talk to you in singlish and you just understand e third of it ~_~

    Learn propper english guys!

  • @270Akio270 i like it, because it's funny and make them unique and everytime i miss s'pore i just listen to my mom talk :) den everything is good lah! hihi

  • I don't mind the funny accent, everyone have their's, but please don't be proud of it... you arrogant Sons.O.Bitches!!! Mr. Lee Kuan Yew's my hero, The government and the officials there are great but it's the commoners that sickens me, thinking they have to be credited for what singapore has become today. Thank Mr. Lee!!! and be humble when you see the Thais, Pinoys, Indoes, becasue their ancestors earns respects from their invaders!!! we fought for it, we been through shit more than you MOFO

  • Seriously, I don't find speaking Singlish is bad. Like a lot of people who commented, we Singaporeans can speak standard English if we want to. It's just a matter of whether we want to do it or not and also, depending on the situation. Moreover, I feel that speaking Singlish can help us bond better! I'm sure a lot of us will feel more comfortable when we speak Singlish with our friends rather than using standard English all the time.

  • @angelstarrs i oso wan learn singlish hoping to bond with you. can anot?

  • @statsx Lol. Where are you from?

  • @angelstarrs lol you know where im from. you know what. girls speaking in singlish are so cute! i could even fall in love with that auntie in the clip! and there lies the secret of the 'bonding force' you mentioned. you might have meant something else but, since now you have learned the secret dont you lose your singlish accent! lol

  • @statsx Haha. I know right! And seriously, we need more people like you to appreciate Singlish and stop criticizing the way we LIKE to speak. :) You are the best la! Haha.

  • There's a deeper meaning into it from this scene. Look at the lady's outfit and its colour. Rings a bell?

    Look at what she's doing?

    Rings a bell?

  • @initiativisk lol ok, with the upcoming event, i guess it does ring some bells now that i think about it >_>

  • 1:06 - 1:07 legitimately scared me and made my heart beat faster cuz i did not expect that D:< ... this is not really a language right? randomly came across this vid cuz it was recommended so i don't know.. because it sounds like "fobby" english to me, like when someone's imitating how an Asian speaks broke english.. is that what it is? lol

  • I dunnouuu... dis is nun of mai bisnesss... ^^ smart kid

  • Bolo Santosi

  • I love this accent, I love 1:32 lol

  • @PSPortalMaker haha this is the result of not paying attention during lesson. haha i give u a thumbs up!

  • What's wrong with speaking a language with mixes of few other languages? It pulls us closer to other races in singapore. So, what's the big deal?

  • Chinese don't speak foreign languages confidently

  • EH KRAYZAI NOOB F$%K. i can't be bothered to find out where you're from and i don't really give a shit. but you're just a really ignorant noob who can't just accept differences. why don't you ask the blacks why are they not white and ask your mum why is everyone's dick so big but yours is so small. go f**k yourself and learn to appreciate differences instead of being a narrow minded mother fker.

  • @findmywararound I was being an asshole and a bigot.. prob just as a result of dealing w. 5 months of bullshit everyday from poor customer service (rude, uncommitted, and ungrateful) left, right, and centre, poor food sanitation (despite stalls getting As and Bs from the Environemntal agency), shitty food (seriously not a foodie's haven), people answering your questions before you've finished....

I feel more toned down now that i am out of the country.

  • @krayzai I'm sorry that you've had such a bad experience in my country. May I ask, where are you from?

  • @findmywayaround yeah my mistake. singlish is find with me. every culture has their idoms, but it's the accent.

  • @krayzai If Singlish is fine with you, why do you say that it is a genetic dysfunction? Are you now shifting your argument and criticising our accent?

  • @findmywayaround - Have you heard people on mediacorp's news programmes speak? they all sound like donkeys... but they think they're so professional sounding.

  • @krayzai

I assume you're talking about news presenters? I would think they have good English. But what is it that you mean they all sound like donkeys? Are you talking about accent now?

  • BOLO SANTOSI!

    BOLO SANTOSI!

  • @Maximum44444

MY NAME IS BOLO SANTOOOOOOOSI, FREEEEEDUM THO TEH PEEPEL!

  • @woodyfly well.. singlish doesn't only mock English, it mocks malay, chinese, hindi, tamil, and their dialects.. so basically, the races i listed covered majority of the world. everywhere u go in anywhere of the world, u are bound to see one of them.. therefore, the conclusion is, "Singlish mocks the whole world.. @.@!!"

  • @synstanzer actually i don't want to compare with you la, compare hokkien, i oso win you, compare chinese, i oso win you, compare english, i oso win u.. wat u wan to compare now ? compare whose mother ? if u dunno, i can answer you back for your "actually ur mother", therefore synstanzer, "kan lin lao bu lah". -regards

  • isn't the mother one of the dim sum dolly group ?
