@BriarRoseAurora, You have know idea what your saying, so just dont say anything. New plugs and cleaning/rebuilding the carb it will run another 300k.
@BriarRoseAurora, Is that all you have? So you really dont know anything. Also, i dont even live in the backwoods, yet. Most people dont find where i live trailer trash....Oh wait i dont live in a trailer.

By the way, unless the grill has been changed, this isn't a 72. The 72 had a grill that had a was suspended and supported by a single strip in the middle and was open in between. This grill is a 71 model.
See, I was wondering if it was a 71, 72, or 73 model. It's a junkyard truck put together from many others. Nothing matches. But the interior matches a '72 model, so that's what I go by. Thanks though.
@haloguru2552 actually yea, pur a little transmission fluid down its throat and itll hold good compression, ive worked on old fords for years, does the trick.
@haloguru2552, he is actually telling the truth. If you crank and crank and crank on the engine and flood it out you wash the oil off the cylinder walls=rings don't seal as good, less compression. Poor some atf down carb=rings seal good again, more compression.
I am not knocking Fords here, but my 68 Chevy Caprice sat for 16 years. Dragged it down to the garage, slapped a battery in her, found the ground wired from firewall to engine block was off after about 5 minutes of cranking and it fired right up. When it warms up and dries up from all the rain we've got, I am gonna try to start the 69 LTD coupe that has been sitting for about 10 years to see what it will do. I am not as optimistic for the same results of my Chevy after seeing your Ford video.
i have the same truck and when i let mine sit up for a while i have to put a little gas in the carburator and it fire right up. if that don'twork try to check your fuel pump or filter cause it sound like it ain't no gas going to it
some good fresh gas would not hurt

@Eluthingol07 it ain't jumped time idiot

i just bought one. it has two gas tanks but only the AUX works, the guy told me the fuel valve next to driver seat is messed up, how do i fix?
kp7100 10 months ago
@kp7100 I honestly couldn't tell you man...never fixed one of those before, I'd have to see it.
haloguru2552 10 months ago
It wanted to start so it aint timing/fire
Could be lots of things but i would start with putting gas in it!
jungledrum123 1 year ago
You should spend more time learning how to fix it then trying to start it.
CyrusDawes 2 years ago
very simple. Rebuild the carb and get new plugs and cap :)
cosworth89 2 years ago
sounds like its not getting any gas at all.

Change spark plugs (probably fowled) and dump some ATF down carb for compression and she will fire right up
zmamedotcom 2 years ago
lol, transmission fluid down the carburetor. You make me laugh. Actually the problem was just the carburetor was completely fucked.
haloguru2552 2 years ago
works for low compression lol

@bjbuschman2 if you have no compression whats it going to hurt idiot.. just goes in the intake to your cylinders not going to hurt your carb.

Timing issues. The starter spinning in a funny way like that often means timing problems.
Is it a 302?

Check the timing, sounds like its off.

PLEASE do an interior shot view of you trying to start it... especially in workboots. Besides, it would be helpful to see your method
