accelerometer so that you can view things differently, and change tracks differently...

a button does the same job and means you dont look like a tard.

or of course you can pay more for a product with a poitnless selling point.

i like the hi-res screen but thats hardly the innovation that they were creating hype about.

I used to think The Gadget Show was actually kind of fun and clever show but after seeing constant vidoes of crApple crap being shown it just looks like they're turned more towards desperate extra views. Seriously there are other mp4s other than iPods, do what you are supposed to do and show them more!

The ipod touch original is perfect there is now need to update it, i mean i have no issues with the volume contol they do have the inbuilt speakers (for alarms or warnings on IM's). And the app store and all the other new apps can be found on the old IPOT you can either pay for the new firmware or just jailbrake/pwn it for free, this is just another way to make money for apple.

But the new ipod nano looks ok if you like the old style ipod but i think it is a step sideways or even backwards.

well it is larger and the battery life of everything is getting better, i'd think the screen would cancel out some life but not much as the sheer size fot eh touch makes the life longer

One which didn't get a mention was the new ipod classic - 120GB only at a set price, so it will be more stable

and the new itunes 8 :o I am shocked Gadget Show tut tut :)

I may just invest in the new ipod touch it is rather sleek (wanted the old one, now the new one is better :D)

Although I like the new nano I am not convinced yet, it looks better than the 3rd Gen, but it looks too much like the nano 2nd gen, and like the old sony walkman - still love it though :)

For the new iPod touch, the built in speaker and the volume rocker are a decent addition. I don't think the chrome back was a good idea though... My iPod touch at the moment has started to pick up scratches which wouldn't show up on the same material as on the iPhone mk1. I'll stick with my first gen touch though, not enough new improvements.
