It's nothing lovely about it, when there is no respect for life like the russian scientest shows. What is loveley abot it to hold animals in such horrible cages. Human people you have got a lot to learn from animals.
Dogs are not the closest relative to human race,THEY ARE THE CLOSEST RELATIVES TO HUMAN INDIVIDUALS THAN OTHER HUMANS.(for some people)human consider neighbour as a threat but finding Dog as a friend, same as Dogs find other Dogs as a threat and Human as friend IS IT SUFFICIENT TO PROVE HUMANS ARE ONLY ANIMALS,
I didn't think dogs could understand the concept of a photo, are they sure dogs can even tell that a photo is a depiction of a real object?
And I agree about the foxes. :( Except that now that current generation of foxes would never be able to survive in the wild, not even the aggressive foxes because they've been fed by people, and certainly not the mild and tame foxes.
my dog follows me down stairs and goes down before i even get there or think just placing my foot close makes them run down lol also we forbid them to come to this room and they stop at the door
I loved this video....but what about that little foxes living in cages just to prove some theory?? What about the stress they're up to everyday?? If the theory is already proven shouln't they be free ?
@Pinkunohi They are rather small aren't they, its in Russia though, crueler shit than that happens! For one, they came from a fur farm, even worse! But indeed I would not have thought space would be at such a premium in Siberia!
the point experiment with the dogs was kind a stupid to put a treat on it. just make it go to the side you want and THEN give treat. We will get the point. But dogs do understand pointing. Also it was adult dogs who was living with the humans for a few years.. OF COURSE they understand pointing. the pup failed too.. if they teach the chimp to understand pointing then it will do the same. a poor executed experiment.
The experiments at the Max Planck Institutes (on how chimps "failed miserably" to follow human gaze or fingers), therefore, are simple-minded & nonsensical.
With chimps morphology being so similar to ours, 50K+ years of selective breeding will enable chimps to do most things humans could do, except the most intellectually complex tasks.
Many unforeseen geno- & pheno- mutations WILL also take place. The vocal box, for example, is a result of a gene mutation, not an "original" physical design.
Dogs have been selectively bred to be able to *follow* us for 10's of 1000s of years. Their survival, as noted, depended on HOW WELL they *read* humans.
Our closest DNA cousins, the chimps, have NEVER depended on humans for their survival. Chimps have NO REASON, or need, to follow our gaze or fingers. But they DO read over-all *body language* better than we do! Body language is a better predictor of average behavior of a potential competitor (hostile or not) than finger or eye movements.
@paulmrussell12 Greece...a beautiful experience.instead of booze ,we love cigarettes and coffee.and some of us are very happy finding quality stuff on YT.FILAKIA(kisses)!!!

Haha, so funny: about halfway this documentary (at 33m 40s) Dr. Kubinyi Eniko says she loves her wolf cubs whilst wearing a shirt with a cat-print.

LOL...nevermind, wolves don't understand pointing.

A couple of things about this dog-pointing experiment:
1.) How do they know the dog isn't just smelling the treat?
2.) As others have said, dogs were bred to understand us. If a wolf understood pointing, then I'd be convinced.
