  • I love your vids and your enthusiasm

  • Just remember...Organic does not mean free of GMO contamination!

I like how they aren't using automated sprinklers. Guessing with the 6 to 8 days, seed to feed, they are just watering by hand to keep down the electric bill? ((ah growing in soil, not in just water with nutrients...) Searching for ways to prepare and consume wheatgrass, without juicing it. I am in a country/area of poor people, a juicer would be outside of their means. suggestions?

  • Informative, . . but you need at least 1 hot chick to sell this idea better. Always remember the secret word for success. . . TITTIES ! ! ! ! !

  • so do i keep watering until the day i harvest?

  • to make the water acid and kill all bacteria after soaking the seeds, could I use a splash of vinager? would that work?

and another question, after I´m done sprouting, do I compost the soil?

thank you for putting your videos up! I´m starting juicing wheatgrass :)

  • I use a blender and recycle the pulp. It works fantastically. Don't buy any special equipment! And yes, I often add rock dust (lime) to my sprout trays.

  • im gonna do this. thanks john!!!

  • Awesome video John keep up the good work!

  • my homemade automatic sprouter works really well and doesnt use a lot of water. i even have grown wheatgrass without soil in it.

oh in my neck of the woods summer will be here before we know it(southern hemi)

    still coolish weather though.

  • @steviebboy69 can you make a video showing us your homemade sprouter? always interested in seeing people creations

  • I really love your videos my friend!

Thank you for for all your work in putting this information out there.

I recently bought a sack of green beans that I wanted to sprout, but it doesn't say anything about sprouting or if they are organically grown.

They will still work as sprouts right?

    -Love & Gratitude-

  • one way to not starve during hard times. Thank you.

  • Thanks for the vids!!!

  • did you see the pvc rack? It really seems to be really good way grow herbs.

  • How does one grow wheat grass for the purpose of producing and collecting more wheat grass seeds?

  • Thank you so much. this was great. I find the most difficult part is getting organic seeds. But I love sprouts and the way they make me feel. yumm...better than coffee anyday.

  • @ramonalisa Try a health food store like Whole Foods. Unless you live in a rural area or small town, health food stores abound.

  • @havokeachday I live in a small town in Nova Scotia Canada....I do go to town sometimes, the healthfood stores are very expensive...i will also look online...thank you

  • John.... I wonder if it would be a good idea to add a small amount of rock dust to the organic soil used for sprouting. They say, wheat grass grown in fields is more nutritious then wheatgrass grown in trays. I would guess that is because the soil MIGHT have more nutrients in it, like minerals and such. Your thoughts?

  • YES! Shawn doesnt use rock dust (or ocean grown minerals) there YET. Trust me, I had a good discussion about that with him, and I believe he is commited to trying it. When I grow wheatgrass, I use 1/2 organic compost and 1/2 rock dust as the "organic soil" mix. You can also use "ocean grown" minerals to water them, which will add minerals from the sea. (I will have an upcoming episode about ocean grown)

  • @growingyourgreens Great! I just picked up some Humizyme which is supposedly some ocean based minerals.

  • another great tour by the ever generous mr. john

  • Hmm...I might do this, but I don't have a juicer...

  • @flyingemu27 blend it, chop it, chew it, eat it...lol...I don't have a juicer either. peace

  • you dont need a juicer. Your TEETH are natures best juicer! chew the wheatgrass until there is no liquid left and then spit out the fiber.. IF your hardcore, you can swallow the fiber too.. its good roughage.. If you have a blender you can blend a little wheatgrass with alot of water, and then strain out the fiber. Two (low) cost methods to get the benefits of wheatgrass without a blender.
