Data visualization and manipulation is phenomenal with Multi-Touch. But with that control there is a great deal of complexity. There has to be a very adaptive and scalable user-interface system setup to provide that control in an intuitive and easy to use way. You can see all my Multi-Touch concept videos at my channel: thenewtouch
I work in a IT store where i regularly tinker around with iPod Touch and HP Touchsmart (both 22" desktop + tx2) and i haven even began to see what multi-touch can really do! Nuts! :D
As you can see in the video, the user can use all of his fingers to control multiple points on the screen. This is interesting both in concept and application. It shows that it can be done, and what it can be used for...
Here we have a Cornell grad who's done genius work and the trailer park trash who posts this can't even spell or type a single error-free sentence. What did Carlin say? The US is a front row seat to the freak show? It's sad, oh so sad.
pretty cool. The important part really is writing programs that make use of the possibilities of the device. These demos are cool but this will become really useful when it is integrated into standard software like an operating system or image processing software
look up Jefferson Y.Han and you'll find his website, there's some info, enough to figure out how to build one... Some programming knowledge required...

PIKACHU49386 4 years ago
actually, this is home made.
This is what you need to make it:
- 1 regular TFT computer screen
- 1 video camera with nightvision
- A pane of glass
- IR LEDs
- Some skills for making the structure
- One heck of a load of programming skills
