Actually those saber were not done with after effects, those are the force fx lightsaber, which look like a real lightsaber when filmed. I have one of them myself.

u can pick up force fx lighsabers from ebay for about £60 ($120)

.... it's done with a program called adobe after effects they edit each frame those "light sabers" are pretty much just sticks with effects added on.

he's not joking they're lighsaber hilts with tubes connected to it with LED lights and built in sound effects
